Keep it Alive!
I made a suggestion in the feedback forum on the main forums, you guys should help keep it alive if you agree with it.
http://outspark.com/forums/showthrea...920#post594920 |
Agreed, but it might be too much work. D:
And the updates aren't just the files patched on to your game folder, most is on the server. They would probably have to make a test server... Sounds fun. =D |
I think its worth it IMO. I'd rather than than risk having something happen to like 50% of the games population.
|
Lolwut?
This is what Fiesta has come to in my absence? |
they could put a test server for the patches
|
Yeah, test servers are probably the best option. Outspark can test all they want at their offices but they only have certain types of computers and operating systems to work with.
It's much like how when I use a certain font to build a website to make it look nice but people who do not have that font will see ugliness on their computer. |
viasta once again came up with brilliant idea :P, viasta should be an owner of a sponsor site for games.
viasta never talks in 3rd person, just for this post, viasta feels like it, feel like posting in 3rd person. |
F.Y.I, viasta, the test server was my idea. D<

fine, we can both own a sponsor company :P
I would do it, but too lazy to buy an office building :/ laziness +10 |

Reason: To change the game servers the only thing u have to do is change a 1 or 2 parameters(depending if u want to use a different PayShop) and the game connects to the new server. The Client also has no problem on being installed 2 times, after all he doesn't use the registery. Even the Launcher can be configurated in a way so that he supports 2 different versions of fiesta, inclusive separate patch server, etc. Edit: I just remembered that when outspark was so nice to publish the source of the launcher i found a feature that changes the patch from the official to the debug patch server.... If they would actually use that feature i could understand SKING argumentation, but it just would emphasis there incompetence. A smarter solutions would be to keep both version separate on the hd and in the launcher. Tip: The fiesta test version is different game then the fiesta official version |

It's more about doing it right than doing it ghettofied. There are security issues to consider which I'm sure you know all about. |
Is it possible to add a server to the regular server line-up that requires manual approval before a character can be created and then only manually approve testers for access?
(Same as I posted on the official forums) |

@Everyone. Please remember to keep your comments within our thread rules. Also, please remember that the Outspark staff does not even have to come on here and tell us sqat. They do it, because they want to. This is a fanbased site and they are the same as any other member when they log onto this site. @SKiNG, thank you for replying to Yosei's thread and being open with us. Some of us really do appreciate the effort you are making. |

I actually have no idea what that is. Any guesses? LOL~ |

Honestly saying stuff when you don't have 100% of the info the people behind the scenes have is a little Naive. (can't do the "i" with oomlaut >.>) Quote:
I hope something where people can host like Tournaments! That would be WICKED AWESOME! Jousting ftw. GO RACOON GOOOOO!!!! *stabs Hyper* O SHI *Falls off Racoon* ouch =/ |

LOOOOL! Whiplash. :3 I'm guessing the community things will be more Fiesta-related. CS stuff? |
Quote:
>.<; And maybe CS events, and some for not... I think it'll be like RS... but better in the sense that here the full game is available for all... and they're always working to improve for people that pay as well as don't. But there will be obvious things for CS users that other people won't get. |

My point was that there is no issue like reinstalling the client all the time. With little effort that problem can be eliminated. And it looks like u agree with me on that. And i certainly agree on your security argument. After all a test server would a juicy target. Quote:

Kannst du da wirklich setzen, und sag was ich soll sagen über MEINE Sprache?! Fick du Arschloch. OOMLAUT! Nicht diese blöde "Umlaute" scheiße du sprichts von. Now tell me about German again? . |
ROFLMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO @ Booyah xDDD He probably didn't understand you were being sarcastic xD o: Looks like a cool thread Yos! |
Quote:
No need to tell me how to do German. *points to sig* Because I don't know other languages. /sarcasm! EDIT: And even if it was to be called "Umlaut" instead of "Oomlaut"... making it plural based off German language would be "Umläute" And now that Spell-Check is looking at the words I'm typing... "Umlaut" is obviously the English version of how you would spell it. It seems to be the correct version. Sorry I'm used to my version... I'll adapt never. And to Yosei (Yosay) xD I like the idea... maybe the concept is easier thought of than done... and I posted my 2 cents :3 |

Es macht nichts, was ich sage. Ich habe "Oomlauts" gelernt. |
Stop flaming in each other or it will result in an infraction for both of you. Drop it.
--- Back on topic, if they get a group of users to test patches in the future, what does it usually take to be a tester in other games? Random or what? Wonder if those people have to "promise" not to tell others what's in the patch? I mean it's pretty hard to keep something low with so many people knowing. Then again, I don't see why they will need to do that if they're gonna release it for sure. I dunno, haven't really been to any other games that did that soo.. /nub. |
Sorry =/
And I've been a CBT for Pogo.com when they were going to try new games. They give you access to a whole different site, then give you a logon/password that only you have. They give you something to e-sign, but most people let their friends have access to the account if they want to go try the new stuff before it's released. I think that might happen too if Fiesta were to do anything. I know that the CL's had to sign confidentiality agreements. Centrix wouldn't tell me anything, other than "I can't tell you that." =/ |
