New Kind of Cheater...

Quote:

Whats up everyone ?!

So yeah I was minding my own business down in Rumen setting up a shop with some nice items right before I was going off to take a shower. I had TWO items in my shop +6 going for 35s each so after I set up the shop I go to take my shower...

After I get back I see both items I put in the shop were gone and instead of 70s I ended up with 70c.....

I know what you're thinking "Wow this moron must have accidentally put it as 35c without knowing" THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!!, I set my prices at 35s and left the store as that.

Some people are going around using something or some program to buy items and somehow glitch them. Sure I can't report this since I have no screenshots and I have no clue who did it but Im just saying... WATCH OUT!!!

I honestly don't get why people do such pointless things like that. You get no gain from it and sooner or later you will get it back seven fold -.-
Sauce /booyah

Something i saw on the official forum...

that is one strange glitch/hack... does that mean we cant even vend in peace now?

Blaaaaaaaah 04-14-2008 04:58 AM

That's really odd.. o_o

Yosei 04-14-2008 05:01 AM

I think the person refuses to accept that they made a mistake =/

Lady-Loki 04-14-2008 05:05 AM

I certainly hope he is mistaken coz otherwise that is sad and scary.

Hessah 04-14-2008 05:09 AM

yeah i'm reserved about how true that is too...

but if someone said "i saw someone change it from 35s to 3.5s" i got worried...

Yosei 04-14-2008 05:17 AM

Pics or it didn't happen D:

Destrus 04-14-2008 05:22 AM

he said he has a video, ask him to upload it to youtube and post it as proof for us

Hessah 04-14-2008 05:31 AM

requested =D

MaxOff 04-14-2008 05:48 AM

mhh let me remember how the shop was working. (I should start taking notes....)

U create a shop with some indexes into the 8th "Space"(it was the 8th rigth?) of inventory. Additionally u send with the indexes the prices and quantitys of them. Finally a half byte tells the server if u want to buy or sell.
If someone opens the shop he continusly requests the shop informations. Most of them 1 time would have been enough ;-)

Anyway, when u buy an item u send the playerId of the seller, an index relative to the shop items(0..4 in most cases) and the quantity to the server. The server then generates the price for the items, and may reject the request to buy.

In short u cant change the price of an item. He just made an error, and now tries to blame in on an unknown hacker.

Hessah 04-14-2008 05:51 AM

that's good to know...

Ralath 04-14-2008 06:09 AM

Snaps for MaxOff.

Hyper 04-14-2008 06:18 AM

A program/hack-thingy is pretty impossible... o.O

Glitch, possible.

Hessah 04-14-2008 06:22 AM

yeah.. i guess if its a hack thing.. then wouldnt that person buy everything for 1/100th of the price?

O-mie 04-14-2008 06:26 AM

being outspark, it woudln't surprise me in the least if its a hack, however, I guess we'll have tow ait and see if more issues like this turn up.

I know I would... -gathers all the blue items- ;D

But someone just can't edit the info stored in Outspark's server things. (It probably would be impossible for even one person. xD)

Destrus 04-14-2008 06:35 AM

hmm, some hacker in flyff was able to connect directly to the server using something (can't remember what) i suppose it could be possible to do the same here but again why not just make it for like 1 copper. though i suppose part of the reason could be that they don't want ot make it too obvious.

But FlyFF was a failure, and probably had crap security. ;D I think this game has crazy security because most GMs were from GunZ, which is like the most hacked game evar. (Or so I've heard.)

If thinks would be so easy
1.) U actually directly connect to the fiesta servers just by using the standard client. U also have a little talk with a xtrap server but that isn't interesting here.
2.) Connecting to a server is piece of a cake. The real problem is to convince the server that what u are doing is correct. The fiesta server are especially though. Every interesting decision is made solely on the server site.
4.) FlyFF...., well FlyFF. U could hack flyff by using a memory editor. Guess that says everything.

Well i agree with u about the GMs. I have my own experience with them, and i heard of other stuff. shocking stuff lol. yet, there is no point in bashing the gms. But if it would be going after me, i would send the gms to far far far place and even further away from fiesta.

xD i don't know anything much about what was done. i just know there was a screen shot of xagel asking some hacker about what he was doing and how and he said something about connecting the server using idk was it telnet or something? i really couldn't tell you. i guess he used it to make it let him do things like use skills and weapons he wasn't supposed to. whatever, i think he's banned now anyways.

04-14-2008 04:37 PM

umm i think hes just he/she is making it up
lol i sure dont think there si a gltich out like that for any game

Oh no my friend you are wonrg about that. Knight Online is the most hacked game ever. Over half the population is a hacker/cheater...It's kind of a playground for them to see what else they can come up with. and K2(the company that runs it) does nothing.
---
That guys a failure...Stop lying boy!

Yosei 04-14-2008 04:51 PM

Not necessarily making it up, just refusing to accept that they set their prices wrong.

Zwivix 04-14-2008 05:02 PM

He's MAKING UP a story to compensate for the fact that he doesnt want to admit his mistake

kkthxbye.

Loveless 04-14-2008 05:26 PM

Well, if he didn't want to admit his mistake... he should've not posted. Then no one would've ever known except the person who bought it. :P

Now, if you're selling something valuable... try taking a screenshot of the price window out. Then you can really be sure.

Hyper 04-14-2008 05:48 PM

^I said like because I didn't know firsthand. I never played Guns or that other one... D:

I thought booyah was the one who posted this until I actually went to the link. LOL.

The OP is so full of bull. Wow. And that Toonruler01 (or w/e) idiot just confirmed his stupidity.

viasta 04-14-2008 06:28 PM

the person must be a perfectionist, nothing should go wrong, must be perfect, something goes wrong, then comes commit suicide

Azling 04-14-2008 06:51 PM

He Just Made A Mistake Or He's lying in which case i shall kick him in the shins for making me post this

(On A Better note : Im Back on the site YAYZ)

Ulrike 04-14-2008 07:35 PM

70c says the person simply mispriced.

Don't you mean 70s? Or did someone hack your post :O

Hessah 04-14-2008 11:11 PM

LOL!!

i saw someone shouting in elderineone "Selling Elrue [2] for 900s each!"

and i sounted back "no one is gonna buy elrue 2 for 900SILVERs each!"

and she still missed my point and whispered me "then how much am i suppose to sell it for? usually ppl sell it for 1-3s each"

so i kindly let her know that she's mistyped S for C ekekeke

Belaslav 04-15-2008 03:01 AM

Impossible. Values for price are stated as final variables and are non-negotiable or changable.

Ivramire 04-15-2008 03:28 AM

Yup, prolly just someone who made a mistake and hasn't/wont realize it.

Hessah 04-15-2008 03:30 AM

i'm glad u all agree that it's not possible =D

Isnt Soldier Front the most hacked game evar?

On topic: maybe the GMs could check the logs and confirm if he did misprice it... they do have logs right?

IcyPhoenix 04-22-2008 06:04 AM
