because that's our main skill and our "job"

they do the damage, you do the healing

otherwise.. why would they need you in the party if they're gonna pots and stones themselves?

Sometimes people should use more stones, like when everyone is taking damage at the same time (usually because the tanker sucks). But in a party, the main job of a cleric is to heal others while they tank or deal the damage. Mages and archers deal more damage than clerics, thus clerics dont really need to attack. You will also need to heal the fighter because they take all the damage on behalf of everyone else. (aka tanking)

Unless, you would like to try being the tanker, and healing yourself? its possible by using healing spells to provoke the enemy, but quite hard and usually not the best option, unless partying with archers who can use "natures protection" to remove aggro against themselves. Of course, this will mean u need to add some END if u want to tank...

If you don't like healing others, then I'd change classes before you get too far being a cleric.

Then you shouldn't be a cleric. :\ You should at least heal your party.

I usually use stones when healing others.

Clerics are healers first and fighters second. I didn't realize this until I really started playing alot, a mage found me and dragged me all over gods creation and I healed her so much I thought my 4 button was gonna break. But it taught me how to heal effectively and I got exp faster than soloing. Now I have a solid position in a guild and we do very well out in high lvl spots. I get great exp, although usually less than the others, but thats ok. It's fun, and no one dies ... usually, lol.

I'm always in a party when I go out and we usually are in a much higher lvl area. When the Tank pulls a huge train I use a specific pattern. When the tank runs out to gather the masses I usually stand at the edge of the kill zone and wait for him/her to come back around and when she's within range I do a regenerate to get started. When she's in the kill zone with the mob we all stay clear and wait for her to (mock?) that attracts all the mobs to her? (don't have a fighter char sry) as soon as the mobs are focused on her, I do one full heal to her and Bash and Trip away, lol. (only fight if you can handle multiple, like 6 or 8 hits)

During this time depending on how many mobs are involved I pay attention to the health of entire party. I use regenerate alot, full heal if more than half down on health. Very very rarely do I ever need to use rejuvenate. Mages tend to draw monsters also and take much more damage so invincible helps in a pinch to get you caught up on other char while you mage is getting pounded. But if your fighters are doing their job, the focus should stay on them. If I get attacked I will usually just let it attack and stone. The fighter will usually draw the mob off you. Don't run around and panic, that usually just attracts more attention to you. heh, just stone and wait till the party draws them off. If somethings not going right, ask for a break and talk to your party. They don't want you to die, usually means they will die expecting a health bump and not getting it. After the mobs gone we usually go shroom and when everyones back up, do it again. BTW your party admin should always have the allocation set to sequential. Everyone deserves mats and drops.

Just make sure you atleast heal in KQs then...or else people get mad at clerics in general...because of a few who don't heal. But seriously, why would anyone want you in a party if you don't heal? Our dmg is minimal, we can't hold AoE aggro well, so...we're basically useless ecxept for being a heal slave.

Im playing a cleric myself. And while i use about the same strategy u use(some personal preferences are different), i saw a lot of clerics making mirror and sometime grave mistakes. So i would ask u if u could u make a complete guide out of that post? i would greatly appreciate it. :)

I get the pleasure of teaming with Anubis all of the time. And he is one awesome cleric!!! I try him alot, though, because as a tank I think I can take more than I can and sometimes get into trouble. But Anubis is always there to heal me....then kind of hint to me that maybe it would be wise not to pull so many at one time. lol

I see you guys in Abysmal Summit all the time. But you always have a full party.... ;O;

On topic: another thing i remembered is that in some cases, like when tanking a boss, HP stones cannot cool down fast enough, and spamming potions might be quite expensive, if not impossible, which is why people need clerics.

yeah, it wierd how sometimes you just get a ton of spawns in one place, and it happens all around you, and it's too much to manage lol. Thats why we keep elderine scrolls on a hot key. When one goes **Poof** we all go **Poof**. hehhe

Stones cost a lot for people of higher levels. I waste my archer's stones all the time. My cleric rocks. It seems easier to lvl up.
