What motivates you?

I've been wondering, what motivates you into levelling?

When you reach your 50's your suddenly asked to grind out a million experience points.

By 60, that reaches mid, to high 7-digit numbers.

By 70, the amount reaches 8 digit numbers only to climb to 23,000,000 at 79.

So, what motivates you to reach the next level?

For me, I just want new skills and armour to play with.

How about you?

Kreain 04-07-2008 10:55 PM

I got the same reason as you but just cant do it xO

Triumph 04-07-2008 10:56 PM

The drive to see what the level 90 mage armor looks like on males.

That, and the destructive power a mage possesses...

Loveless 04-07-2008 11:00 PM

It used to be getting new skills but Archers don't really have a lot to look forward to. Mostly it's about getting money... to do that I need to get drops... and to do that I need to kill mobs. Which eventually leads to me gaining exp.

booyah8876 04-08-2008 12:16 AM

I like to be high lvl, and show myself off to people at school~

really.

And I like to hang with GoR members wherever they're at...

and I can't be nub, and do that at the same time =/

Yosei 04-08-2008 12:19 AM

Skills, new things like KQs zones, and armor, and my friends.

Ulrike 04-08-2008 02:51 AM

new armor, purdy 2H swords, and I've always been a grinding nut since the old school Final Fantasy days lol

MikeyG 04-08-2008 02:53 AM

New skills, and my guild

Hessah 04-08-2008 03:12 AM

probably new skills (currently addicted to spamming party heal)...

new KQ (I much prefer Spider KQ over MD... esp when i get tonnes of mats for reward)

and maybe to get out of the ugly level 5x 6x cleric armour.... (had to constantly spend sparkcash to cover it up XD)

Lady-Loki 04-08-2008 03:18 AM

Getting new skills. :D

viasta 04-08-2008 03:56 AM

PvP, not PvP Arena
if I could kill anyone i want when ever I want at where ever I want, then I'll lvl like crazy

+Tequila+ 04-08-2008 04:09 AM

lol PvP and my incessive need to be challenged and be the best at things lol. It's like this for me with everything I do. Most people see this as wierd but no matter what it be my schoolwork/art/the sports I play or the games I play I get bored quickly if i cant be challenged =/.

Yami 04-08-2008 07:51 AM

Friends, new skills, new armor and boredom.

Enraya 04-08-2008 08:09 AM

New skills, new places to explore, friends, new partying methods, and talking to guildies/friends xDD

And PvP is actually a really big factor of my leveling incentive too 8D I love to be at the PvP grounds, and I get pretty annoyed when somebody blocks the way and just hits everyone that tries to get across, so I either ignore or leave to level xD

I also level for more money and quests o: Repeat quests actually give me a purpose, because if I'm not above 50%, I don't like grinding very much ^^;

GrandRestorer 04-08-2008 11:19 AM

Why do i play

To tell the truth i stopped playing as much as i was, i got back into world of warcraft. I just play now when i get bored at wow.

Spirit 04-08-2008 03:23 PM

What motivates me? skills, new armour, and the sheer fun of knowing that I am actually doing it on my own and with friends.

Sero 04-08-2008 03:29 PM

New armor, more money, new skills [though new ones for me are only at level 60 X_X], friends, guild mates, other friends who out leveled me a few months ago :p and IDK... Those reasons, mostly...

Aerythia 04-08-2008 04:07 PM

The motivation can vary for me... sometimes its because I really want a new skill or piece of armor... others so I can finally do a new KQ... for me now, I just want to cap before cap is lifted :D. Never done that before, was at level 50 when the first level cap was lifted, I'd like some time to sit back and earn money ingame, so I can afford to pay enhancers to fund my enhancing addiction ^^. Right now I can't even afford to buy the equipment I so badly want :'(.

Ivramire 04-08-2008 04:17 PM

Just to keep up with friends.

If I don't keep up, we never party. If we never party, we never talk. If we never talk, we aren't friends. I like my friends.

I would have quit a long time ago if it weren't for a few people.

Rof 04-08-2008 04:42 PM

I just play!â„¢

lol!

lvras right, i should have quitted long ago too if not for some few peoples....

Lithon 04-08-2008 04:51 PM

^ you are still saying that?? lol

And i used to play to get to high levels, and talk to friends but it got too boring for me.

BuzZzKiLL 04-08-2008 05:19 PM

New Skills, but the MAIN reson is i HAVE to be atleast the top 3 strongest in the guild. since i was gone so long they all passed me -_-''. of course i can still kill em, lolol but i have to be a higher level than my buddy whom i aquired by showing off my aoe infront of wen i met him. and he was like whooooa im gunna be like u later, so i ivited him to guild, and now hes passed me ><. grrr i must pass him again, I AM THE MASTAAAAAAAA!!! lol thats what drives me to level.

Blaaaaaaaah 04-09-2008 03:59 AM

Just my friends.

I guess new armour/skills/KQs do contribute to a bit of motivation, but I only play when my friends are on, so I guess that's my major motivation.

Edit:

Actually.. FiestaFan too, LOL. Cos I still wanna be up to date with Fiesta stuff, so FF keeps me playing Fiesta.

Oh and level 60 coming up for me so I guess that too!

Aryia 04-09-2008 12:28 PM

Id have to say deffiantly to stop seeing the ugly 4x, 5x, and 6x armor. i want the lvl 7x armor so bad lol and yet i have such a ways to go. at 3x the armor for a cleric was so cute and now the armor is just so ugly, i mean the girl clerics should have a skirt throughout all lvls, thats just my opinion =)

Wynaro 04-09-2008 03:37 PM

Ya I'm on par with a lot of folks. New Skills, equips, new areas (Can't wait for Spire's Forgotten City ... waits 2 years), new additions to make Fiesta that much more fun and enjoyable! Another Biggie is my Guild! I love you all GG!

booyah8876 04-09-2008 04:26 PM

I think I won't care if I don't cap before they up the cap.

When the raise the cap to 89, they'll have to open up BR again ;)

Grinding won't take forever if you AoE there :P

Laurilea 04-09-2008 08:22 PM

Just staying up in the same levels as my friends. If I let them pass me by too much then we arent doing the same quests or going to the same areas. So I level to keep up with my teaming buddies.

Burning rock isn't an AOE-type place. The monsters are spread out. When you AOE one area, you literally have to wait for them to respawn - as the other area is a good 40 second walk.

Anrie 04-10-2008 08:55 AM

I'm now at 6X. I push on for my friends, the greens and the fun. 0.0 Sometimes when ex-guildmates left for a stronger guild, i'll grind even more. *to poke their asses oneday, lolx!*

I guess it's more towards competition when alot of ppl reach higher levels.

toolrocket 04-10-2008 12:40 PM

Leveling and Guild. Although i usually feel guilty after wasting 2hrs on the comp. I could have been reading or learning something new on the guitar or playing kissy-face with my wife. It is awfully nice, however, to shut the ol' brain down, enjoy a few beers and go for that next skill or level.

And you keep me laughing tool!!!!!

Hyper 04-10-2008 02:58 PM

New armor and weapons... Skills, not really. Only looking forward to AoE skills and Precise/Accurate Hit.

MiriHawke 04-10-2008 08:58 PM

I keep levelling because then I can finally catch up with some of the people I've met before I quit and then be able to participate in stuffs with them. :Db

but... what happens when I catch up with them o3o probably poison AoE will keep me going til 51, but...

MaxOff 04-10-2008 09:32 PM

mhh i keep on grinding because i have a preset goal, lv60. Everything i get while lvling is nice, but not required. But i really dont know if i continue after lv60.

Esen 04-11-2008 02:15 AM

Depends. Sometimes a new KQ (only if I'm near a level where I feel comfortable going in), sometimes armor (especially if I think the one I'm wearing is not pretty), and sometimes a new skill (even if I only use it once to see how it looks). If it weren't for maps with level restrictions, I wouldn't mind if my guildies surpassed me honestly. Those maps are easier in parties and if there is a quest for me to kill something on that map, I want it done. o-o Being to play on the same map is fun though, but I don't mind just communicating through guild chat.

A_Forever 04-11-2008 02:18 AM

My guildies? They offer to help me and they give me things LOL

I rarely buy my armors and stuff >.>

Enraya 04-11-2008 10:37 AM

I just play for the fun of it sometimes xD

And what kay said o-o I don't like the 4x armour very much ... >__>; Especially the fat bottom. But I really like the 5x armour, it's one of my favourites xD

And what Spirit said o: I like solo'ing/questing my way through levels sometimes because it just feels fun to do it by myself, and know that I'm able to accomplish it. Partying is, for me, like a new way to meet people xD Sometimes unpleasant people, but oh well @-@;

Guild chat keeps me sane when I solo ^^;
