Wow...
I was watching the news earlier, and they were talking about diploma rates, basically which cities have the lowest rates of students graduating.
Detroit, a city near by, has a graduation rate less than 25% O.O Thats... sad. |
Rofl. Its not surprising.
|
You know whats ironic? My parents wanted to move me here to Michigan.. so I could get a better established education... in Detroit.
Oh yeah, also so I could live in a safer city. Yeah... |
Wha? Sorry, thats one of the dumbest things I've ever heard...err...read.
|
From what I've read, Detroit is one of the most dangerous cities in the country.
|
It is xD
|
I think they were just trying to make me think optimistically about moving to Michigan. I never wanted to move.
|
MI is like in the top 3 or 5 for worst economy...
|
I know D: It took my dad 4 months to find a job here. He did everything. Drove around, checked the newspaper, used the internet. I couldn't find a job, but my family needed me anyways. My mom managed to settle for a job that was totally out of the norm for her.
In VA, my dad was a coroner, my mom worked for customer service for a tactical gear company. Here, my dad is a chimney sweep, and my mom is a special education teacher assistant. |
Eh? Yeah michigan sounds fun!
/sarcasm |
Not trying to discriminate, but that seems high... o.o
|
So... 1 out of 4 students in Detroit is going to graduate. Ugh, those odds are so scary.
|
Where did u live before Yosei?

I've seen news reports on schools with low graduation rates. They're called "Dropout Factories". No offense to anyone, but I heard there were alot of these drop out factories in Florida.
|
I dunno what the graduation rate was for my high school. I think we had 425 graduate, and we started off with like 700something freshmen year.

I have only one red shirt, and one red pair of pants (NOT jersey shorts. EW.), and I just happened to be wearing them both on that day. I went into the gas station for a candy bar/soda, and it was like the scariest thing ever. |
But the University of Michigan is very well regarded.
|
Yeahh. It is. I think Sec is going to be going there.

Yeah, Detroit is pretty bad. Ever since the race riots of the 60's, the city has been a dump heap. There are still burned out buildings that were never dealt with from those riots. Yeah, its that bad. Boarded up buildings next to skyscrapers and empty lots full of trash next to parks. I'm not exaggerating. It is that bad in some places. Not to mention the mayor and his chief of Staff are now facing charges of Purgery and Obstruction of Justice as well. As you can tell, It is a wonderful city, and I'm so glad I live in the Ann Arbor Area! |
I live between Detroit and Flint =/
