Luck is so fickle....

I was just a little ticked off at the fact that enhance ment and KQ rewards in Fiesta are so random....
I recently started playing 12 Sky, another MMO, and in that, there's a parameter called "Luck" that governs the enhancement of an item. It's not totally random.

And in an another game I played, the rewards from a KQ type adventure( it was also basically a co-operation between several chars to win the quest) were given based on an anonymous "rating system". Your party members rate your performance, and accordingly, you are given rewards. It isn't random....

While I see the many shortcomings of the "rating" system, it would be nice to have some way of making the rewards less random and more based on your own personal performance. And I don't see any shortcomings to the "luck" parameter system.

Well, you can't make everything too easy. Enhancing is Fiestas version of "gambling". Of course you can cheat with perfects.

I wish for a voting system.

If a person isn't doing ANYTHING in a KQ. ie some Fighter that ALWAYS joins Spider, then he sets on follow, and waits, and leeches.

The reward for Spider I'm getting is like T4 Vits, and T4 Eva scrolls. I think they should be given to someone that actually did something.

A vote system that allows players to report someone for not doing anything would be nice...

but then again when I decided to try and solo a Miner, some people had a serious problem with me Solo'ing in KQ, and they told me straight out that I make KQ's unpleasant for people. I was only playing for fun ._.

Either way, the leeching needs to be taken care of.

=)

But enhancement is too addictive for its own good! I mean the odds are against you, but you're like "Must...enhance...weapon.... I ish wanting uber-cool glow" *Starts enhancing*
*Breaks*
:(:(:(

EDIT: Dammit, why do I always type enhance ment with a space? Crazy me.

Perhaps have it detect how much you've actually done? Like.. the more you attack/heal, the better the reward.

Hah! Then I would spam heal everyone in the KQ over and over again mindlessly....No, I don't think we can have it that way. We need a human observer..maybe some sort of a "KQ Master"? Lol, just an idea.

Something xD

That would be sweet... really... but I know I've had to go AFK to watch the kids whilst my mother went to get someone, but before and after I went AFK, I was working hard, and during AFK I left the pt.

It's not like I was doing anything less, but when stuff happens that I can't control, don't really want to be punished for it.

Also when you're running the Spider...

that's like 5 and a half mins that no one's doing anything ._.

Too much work.

non-random KQ rewards....... hmm.... that'll be nice if i could vote 5/5 for the awesome cleric in Mara KQ that healed/revived everyone.. only to hv gotten killed at the end with not rewards... i reckon he deserved something...

i could see the upside of rating for rewards...

it'll stop the lvl 4x from joining MD KQ.... it'll stop those leechers.... idiots gets nothing so they'll coorporate...

but then wat if you did great but no one recognises your work...? and of coz the "idiots" will get to rate too.... hmmm...... so you might end up getting no rewards still....

Vasu 04-02-2008 01:49 AM

^ Yeah...I know...that's what I meant by shortcomings...

mof 04-03-2008 07:46 PM

I think they should introduce it... and make it influence the rewards A LITTLE BIT. That way maybe "leechers" will do more, but the rating system itself does not affect it too much. That way, ppl think more of the rating system than what it actually is!
--> thinks outside box... of course they can't admit to this plan... and eventually people would figure something out. But hey... I don't see how this can go too wrong.

edit: Although thinking about this... I can think of some differnet issues. Like people wanting to be the only strong person in the party or kq to get better rewards. But is this really a bad thing? The you wouldn't get people quitting kqs as much just because their party/ kq group is weak....

Vasu 04-04-2008 03:46 AM

True, your performance in the KQ should affect some outcome....A cleric who's been spam healing/a fighter eho's been spam kicking and mocking and doing his best etc. should get something like a bonus.
