What is the scam? Well the Tier 3 Scroll production recipe's.

Firstly, this person YouBuyISell is claiming to be selling a Tier 3 Defense Scroll recipe. When infact, he/she/it is selling a Tier 3 Magic Defense Recipe.

I walk by in Uruga at present day (1 hour ago), and I come across shops selling Tier 3 production scroll recipes for 200s or so.

Dont be fooled! Some of these recipes can be purchased from the Item Merchant Nina in Elderine! (For fame of course)

oh yeah spirit saw one too.. they were selling it for 3.5g instead of 7.5g though!!

Wrong, not a scam oddly enough, the magic def and regular shield have the same tile, look at the description, the magdef one says it teaches magdef in the description too

this is what i am talking about SAME title, different description. the one being sold in angel's post is NOT the magic defense scroll production skill =/

How is that not a scam? It clearly says MagicDEF while he is advertising it for a Defense scroll. The description may be the same but the title is different...

I dont see how this is a scam, he cannot fit magic def into the description.

Shield=6 letters
Magic=5 letters

True that one should be careful when purchasing such items, but one could say its an attempt to scam, even if it failed...

i dont see how something that can be obtained for 400 fame points to be worth 7.5g

MagDEF is also 6 letters.... why dont use that to not confuse ppl?

If it was a legitimate sales attempt he would have labelled it 'MAGDEF' not 'DEF' recipe.

He's banking on people only looking at the description and price, and rushing to buy it on impulse.

This person is without a doubt scamming. It may not be a good one for those of us who double check. But, YES, it is an attempt to deceive people. There is plenty of room to say MagDef instead of Shield. They chose not to. It is a scam.

Well it's a scam but and anyone who falls for stuff like that is just blind!

Yes, we as players must learn to double-check these things and pay more attention to detail. However, there are a lot of kids that play this game and in their haste to grab up a good deal, they might not have the same mind-set as an adult or a more experienced (older kids) player and might be scammed.

wth, lmao. I could ask why, because it does lead one to believe it is a scam. When I saw that same person with the same scroll, I thought it was a scam. Good catch, most of us, me included, never knew that.

Yes this isn't easy to catch - especially if you take for granted that ppl would actually type proper titles for items :/ ... I only found this out from my mistakes (no, this mistake only cost me about 150cc ^^). This error isn't limited to T3, but T1 as well (maybe T2, but I have not seen any).

Just the other day I was trying to buy M.Def scroll from Ruby, but it said I learned the skill already (even though I haven't). So I looked at the other recipe - oh looky, same title! Turns out I bought the Def recipe again and thus could not "relearn" it of course.

I would've assumed that its the description thats wrong, rather than the title of the scroll being wrong... though yeah... its the same for T1 Shield/MagDef production....

WELL someone could just as well buy a magic defence scrolls from Nina and try sell it for a lot of money too... so its good that we know we can look at the description to triple check

Who would buy something for 7.5g without looking over it?

Yesterday I saw someone selling elderine return scrolls in Elderine.. He/She put 1 scroll in each of the slots.. total 5 scrolls.. each is about 1.5s.. I tried to buy all as fast as possible, and you know what? the middle one was 5s.. lol! I paid 5s for that single elderine scroll.. XD

1.5s for an elderine scroll is now cheap?!

Ok that first screenshot was actually a real tier 3 defence production skills, if you look into the description then you see, Shield Defence.

If it was a magic defence production skill then in the description you would see Magic Shield defence.

and that day I got a M.Def t3 recipe too.. I didnt read its description.. maybe a real shield 3 recipe? I sold it for 200s :(

From my point of view:

Late 2007:
Roumen Scrolls - 200~300c
Elderine Scrolls - 400~600c
Uruga Scrolls - 10~14s

Early 2008:
Roumen Scrolls - 500~1000c
Elderine Scrolls - 1~3s
Uruga Scrolls - 12~7s

Seems stupid for me that the Roumen and Elderine scrolls became more expensive for some reason... Although Uruga scrolls became cheaper for a good reason: the gate in CP.
