How do you make money?
I need some suggestions, cause I'm down to my last 2s and I need a lot more for my grinding needs. All help will be appreciated.
|
I usually try and save the drops and sell them via setting up a shop rather than NPC-ing them. Sure, it might take a while to sell things off, but if you sell them off for more than you can get from an NPC, then I reckon you should do it that way if you really need the money. You can also try training at the mobs that drops licenses (which is pretty much all the mobs from ratmen and up I think?), because I gathered a few and made a little bit of money out of them.
Have you tried mining ores? I heard you can make quite a bit out of them when you mine a bunch and sell them off. I also use the stone skill to make a stack of enhancing stones, and when I sell them off together, you become quite rich. |
I knew I should've went for stone production skill!
=( But seriously, how long does it take for you to sell your items via vendor? |
Well the licenses actually took me only about 45 minutes I think (I went to eat, but when I came back I was dc'ed. I logged in again to find all my licenses gone, so I assumed I sold them all before dc'ing). I also sold some +'ed EQs from king slime quests which got sold in about 30 minutes! I think I underpriced them though since I wasn't sure how much they were worth. ><"
Oh and completing quests! I like the amount we get from at level 16+ quests maybe? It's not alot, but at least it'd make up a bit of my sp and hp stones cost. |
Well Kq's weapons dont sell for muuch npc at least the level 15 ones don't. I usually sell the drops that I dont need for scrolls/stones.
|
If you need money, I'm buying tough meats 20Coppers each :O
I really dont know how I made money though. I got my weapons from KQs and kept the wand from job advancement. I'd suggest using shield scrolls, probably biggest pot/stone money saver ever. If you need someone to make shield scrolls, they only require 3 tough leather and 2 summoned beast leather |
stone making is pretty effective and will make ALOT MORE in the future...
If that doesn't work, find your nearest lvl 20 or lvl 30 boss/elite monster and farm rares... |
Definitely stonemaking on my alt.
I made 30s yesterday selling Tier 2 stones. |
i sell the drops i dont need for alchemy at the NPC store =D
|
Actually, you know what? Maybe you can make two or three characters, each for a type of alchemy. That's actually what I have atm, that's why I can make a bit of everything if I can. You don't have to level them a lot of you don't want to, you just need to level them enough so you get enough skill points to make Elrues and Lix's (and Xir's, perhaps). I'm pretty sure Lix's can earn you quite an amount of money.
That way, you don't have to waste extra skill points on a character if you're learning two types of alchemy on one char; plus you don't need to sell off your scrolls! And Bela, try to sell them for 150 or something. That's what I see everyone selling for, and I'm pretty sure you can sell them off for that price. D: That's double the money you can earn! |
Tier 1 stones sell relatively low, as everyone can make them.
Tier 2, however...heh. Minimum 1s per stone, which is slightly overpriced, I know, but not many people can make them, so you can sell them expensive. ;) 10 Elrue [2] and 7 Lix [2] yielded 34s. Not too bad for an hour's worth of vending. |
Hey thanks for all your help, butI actually found a successful way to make my cash through scrolls (Kudos to Blaaaaaaaah) and I tend to make a few silvers profit from it.
|
After making my shiny rocks for 2-3 days, I can make all tier 1 stones. But just wondering, can you give me info on tier 2 stones Triumph? Like, mats needed, what they do, how much skill points they give, and skill points needed to each stone recipe =].
I tried selling a bunch of elrues before and failed pretty hard >_>. Then I brought out Lix's and made 15s in close to half an hour. I then spent 5s buying mats because I was lazy and wanted to be able to make Xirs. Sold out of Lix pretty damn fast, good stuff. |
Man...I should have chosen stones for my cleric. Oh well. Guess Ill do that with a different character.
Since it seems many of you that post here make stones, I wanna buy some lixes so talk to me ingame IGN: Mylaugh |
is that the only way how i can make lix is by finish making 200 elrue ?

Plain old Lix [1] has been my best moneymaker so far. The biggest hassle with that is gathering the copper ore; I don't like mining it's incredibly tedious to me. Every so often I just bite the bullet and spend and hour or so in the mines and stock up. The elrues are pretty easy to come by, either by making them yourself or buying them.
It's especially easy when the market gets so flooded people are selling off stacks of elrue for like 20-25c. If you buy cheap from people, its usually about a 75-150c investment per lix and I can usually sell the lix for around 450-500c a piece pretty quickly and with little trouble. |

They should give more money with the quests. I hate just vending to make a lot of money.

if you just need a few silver, and can survive in moonlight tomb, farm the plants in there. you can earn a good ammount of rosmarys, violets and stuff there which can be npced for 40-60c a piece
|
@ Lyoven
Absolutely agreed upon. There's a little spot in Moonlight Tomb where herbs grow by the dozen, spawning faster then you can pick 'em (most southern area from the centre). Rosemary's, Violets, and the other herbs are worth quite a bit, and being able to pick up a bundle of three for each individual herb is also a plus. I've made at least 50 silver from camping in that spot, along with farming the monster drops from Vivi's, Spiders, and Imps. |
Do you lose money by dieing? I just notice that I loss 888c in my inventory. After a couple of death...

The secret to making money in ANY game over a period of time is always going to be Merchanting.
Merchant, Merchant, and more Merchanting! Buy Low, and you sell high. A tedious process? Maybe, depending on what you're merchanting you may sell fast or slow. If you have the money, and you see someone (probably a nub) selling something for EXTREMELY cheap, buy it! Later it'll come in handy and you can resell it for maybe even twice the price. Example: Today I bought Elrue for 30c each, 50 of them, Later today I sold them for 80c each, a 50c profit on each elrue, totalling 2.5s profit. Now you do that with higher items and more costly items and you get more money. Also, farming bosses/minibosses can you get some good drops. =] A little luck along the way with drops can always help! |

Afk selling works so well, there's always someone out their that will buy ur items. I sold a potion for 10 silv once  |
I just started selling things last Saturday. By selling my Elrues and one Lix, I've already managed to earn more than 3 silver. In order to speed up my stone production skill, I've also asked my sister to give me her materials so that I can refine them and she can sell off the Elrues and I get a part of her earnings.
I want to make Lix so badly. |
I can make Lix, just to lazy to get the copper.
