Nublet question..
I've never been great at saving money, and in game I seem to be burning holes in my pockets left, right and center. Seeing as skills are pretty expensive, I was wondering, do I really need to buy them as soon as they become available, or can some be left out? Are there a handful that just aren't really needed at all? [Would certainly save me some mullah] Also, with the Kingdom Quest is the exp good enough to hold back on grinding and do those, or does it work out roughly the same?
[/essay] sorry about the long post, I've been racking my brains trying to figure a way round my money problems. T^T |
I'm kind of the opposite of you. I'm incredibly stingy. If you're under lvl 40, I would hold off on buying unnecessary skills (whatever you deem those are) because in the next patch, the price of those skills is being decreased. I think maybe by half? That's a LOT!
TBH, archer skills aren't that important if you're in a party. If you just use a lower level debuff, only experienced players (usually those with higher lvled archers) will know what lvl of a skill you are using. Yes, you will be doing less damage than everybody else, but you're in a party so... it's not that big of deal. If you're soloing, skills are more important. I always bought Aimed Shot and Power Shot whenever it became available but sometimes I would wait a few levels for my three poisons. And definitely, Multishot is expendable. I dunno about the xp for KQs but they are a change of pace for me when I get bored. The thing with KQs is that you are probably going to use stones/pots more so, depending on your party and the KQ group, they could be more expensive than regular grinding (but maybe faster... depends on your level) |
Thanks very much for clearing that up :) & good to hear that the prices are going to be dropped. Haha. Guess that's a blessing for us money burners. May give a Kingdom Quest a go later on then.
Thanks again. |
What class are you, btw?

Me? Archer..

Oh duh. LOL Sorry, I wasn't looking at where the thread was made when I clicked it, there was another money thread, sorry xD But hmm.. Archer, archer. If you're partying with one, you can make money pretty wel, but soloing will DEVOUR it. D: Don't buy the empowerments until you can afford to splurge ont hem, its onlyl ike 5-10 damage per weapon mastery.

XD I had a bit a facepalm moment there thinking I'd posted in the wrong section.
I've not been lucky enough to find a party yet, so maybe that's why I'm feeling so copperless! Thanks for mentioning the passive skills, I wasn't sure if those were necessities or not, but if I can manage without them for a bit then that's really handy. Thanks again, been a big help. |
Try getting at least aimed and power shot because they're such a wonderful skills early on :P
exp for KQs is good if you're not close to the max cap, after a certain level it becomes slower than regular grinding. as for useing stones/pots, well, you should be useing them for regular grinding either, and you'll probably use a lot less in KQ, so my final advice is to stick to KQs while it's faster than regular grinding. you'll probably make less money out of it, but a sporadic upgraded wep can make up for it ;p |
I actually think soloing gets you more money if you shroom a lot (like I do). With parties, you're set on sequential allocation so you don't get all the drops. I only sell certain types of drops I get and the rest I keep so if I'm having an unlucky day, I don't sell any of the drops I get.
With soloing, you're guaranteed all the drops. |
Selling the Bless/Lucky Elrues and Lix i get from KQ are my main source of income for my skills at low levels...

well if u were on teva im sure we would all help u
but like never solo till ur like lvl 45+ always pt cuz will kill u as a archer hold back on like a few skill like save some money im doign the same thing as u are i got 4 +20 char on teva and its not smart so im holding back on them till my cleric like 40-50 just think befor u act like i spent 130s today on like stuff that 6 lvls away wich isnt smart |

your income benefits much more from green drops, so faster killing = higher chance to get a green drop soon. also, higher level = faster money, so it's double benefit! XD plus you make the most of your scrolls if you use stones to kill nonstop, opposite to resting \; |
Hm... I had little to no problems with buying skills as an Archer.
I've always been a soloist and much like Ralath I'm stingy as well.. :P I shroom most of the time and rarely buy materials for production. I've always farmed my mats as it gives me the drops and the exp I need. I found that making a Mage to farm was always pretty fast. After it gets to a certain level I'd delete it and make another one just to farm. Also, because I solo I get all the drops... and if a weapon/equipment drops you know you'll be the one to keep it. >P In my opinion, KQ is more of a money burner than anything unless you've got a really good group in there - which on most occasion you won't. The reason being is that you don't get any drops while killing... and if at the end you receive an HP pot or two you wonder if it was worth it. It is fun though... but probably not the 'best' option if you want to save up. Perhaps start it a couple levels after the initial requirement? |
I have the same problem too >3< I'm not too poor as to buy my skills, but I'm pretty poor considering my level D: I also solo most of the time. I also like to shroom up a lot xD KQ was also a really good money gainer for me until I burned up more stones than exp gained in Robo >____o I always buy my skills up to date, with the exception of passive skills, and I've always saved up tier 2 mats so I can decomp into tier 1 mats so I can level up my production skills. And I'm still broke ... D: I don't farm on my alts very much though >3 Maybe I'll try leveling up my cleric or my fighter soon enough. |
