[Outspark] Goodies for March Patch(read the bold <.<)

Quote:

Hello Fiesta Citizens~!

It's been a good while since I added some news. Hopefully you'll find the bulk of the news in this edition appealing. As usual, nothing here is final until posted on the patch notes during maintenance announcements.

New changes/additions coming in the next month
- Skill Scroll pricing for levels 20 ~ 40 will be lowered approximately 2 to 3 times cheaper.
- Maximum HP/SP stone capacity will be increased approximately 2 to 3 times more.
- Exp will be increased in Battle Field zones
- Lower level production skill materials will be sold at NPCs. Cost from NPC will be 10 times more than what you can sell to the NPC. Example, if you can sell a material to the NPC for 10 copper, it will cost 100 copper to buy from the NPC.
- Cool down time for Archers AoE skills will be lowered. (This is the first step to working on Class Balance Issues). More to come...
- Success rate for +1 ~ 6 for Grade 1 Enhancement will be increased.
- Job change at level 20 will be signifigantly easier.
- Killing a monster 30 levels or higher than your current level will only give you 1 exp. This is not final and has room for discussion.
- New map that will have all Battle Field Gates in one area.
- Levels 1 ~ 30 monsters will now drop random weapons and armor.

Additions in the next 2 months or so (more info about these items will come as we get closer to completion)
1. Guild Tournament System
2. Guild Growth System
3. Lucky Bag
4. Cooking System
5. Offiical Wedding Service
6. Advanced Mini House Features
7. Lv. 89 Cap Raise
8. Lv. 70 ~ 79 Battle Field

On-going development News
Game Balance
As you may have noticed, we implemented 3 "Achievement" quests for levels 10, 20, and 30. We've been evaluating user experience from levels 1- 30 and will continue to make that experience as "pleasant" as possible. Other things (aside from some of the notes in the beginning of this post) you may see are:
- Increased Exp reward from monsters and quests
- Better tutorials
- More quests
- Another "Beginner's Map" like Roumen
- Other various gameplay tweaks

While all this is going on, we've already begun analyzing data with game and class balance for levels 31 and above. This requires a little more time than earlier levels as characters become more in depth. Once the majority of tweaks have been implemented, we'll begin focusing on releasing gameplay tweaks for the higher levels. We do recognize there are faults in certain areas that need to be addressed balance in Fiesta, mainly the Archer class at higher levels. Class balance is a discussion that goes on every week here so know that even though we don't discuss topics openly, doesn't mean we aren't aware or we're not working on it.

We're also looking into
- Increasing the frequency of other KQs like we did with the Robo KQ.
- Increasing drop rate on weapons/armor
- Boss Raid instances
- In-Depth Ranking System
- More PvP features
- Class branching
- Auction zone
- Housing
- Bind Stones
among many other things too long to list.

Current Quests!!!
Yes, we know majority of the quests are either broken, contain grammatical errors, or just plain don't make sense. We're in the process of doing a complete overhaul to make them right. It's been going on for a while now and we appreciate the patience you've all had with the quests. Hopefully all the quests should be near complete by April.

Last thoughts
Coming soon, we'll be doing some stat changes on some of the mini pets currently in the Fiesta Store. We''ll be having a having a poll so that you, the user, we'll be able to decide the new stats. We'd like to customize the stats specific to classes. So if you have ideas on what you think the stats should be, feel free to post your ideas in the Class sections of the forum. Basic format should be no more than 10 stat pts combined. Example: 3 STR, 5 END, 2 DEF = 10 pts.

Upcoming Events:
Dance Dance Fiesta!!!
- This event will be held late March. Form your group and plan out a dance routine! Best routines will win prizes! Expect prizes to be SparkCash or even iPods! Creativity and costume coordination is definately a plus. Event details and rules will be posted soon.

Scavenger Hunt 2
Similar to the first one except this one will definately be more difficult. You may be required to check out other sites for answers! Prizes may be things like Graphics Cards, t-shirts etc...

Thanks for reading. Hopefully i'll have some more good news next week!

Thats going to be great so is the cooking system going to be like making food to take place of pots?

Drake1 03-02-2008 11:00 PM

level Cap raise to level 89? I MIGHT come back after this patch. i'm not really sure

Hessah 03-02-2008 11:02 PM

Waoh........

that's the sort of info we want!!! eventhough nothing is confirmed... at least telling us wat they're planning to do is great...

i actually quite like the idea that u cant get exp from mobs 30+ levels than u...

Cooking system sounds interesting HAHAHA...

dont level 1~30 drops weapons already? i hope they think about dropping lvl 60+ greens too...

and archer skill CD decrease... i think that's a nice start~~

Drake1 03-02-2008 11:05 PM

what do they mean by level 20 job change will be easier? will they decrease the hp of your clone?

Hessah 03-02-2008 11:08 PM

they didnt say but the lvl 20 job change seems pretty easy to me already =/

Drake1 03-02-2008 11:12 PM

The level 20 Job change is pretty easy for all clerics

Yosei 03-03-2008 12:13 AM

The job change can be hard for mages. And the additions say next 2 months or so. Trying to push out the loophole wording here so no one gets upset with the next patch lol.

I think they're planning on the official release being towards May-Augustish. So it seems.

Valentines 03-03-2008 12:18 AM

Meh, I did the mage job change easy.

o.O

Hessah 03-03-2008 12:28 AM

i cheated and got a buff before doing my mage job change XD but it was quite easy for archers and fighters still

Valentines 03-03-2008 12:29 AM

I had normal scrolls.

Pritcher 03-03-2008 12:33 AM

I never had any trouble with the level 20 job change for any of the classes either. They all seemed pretty easy to me; just buff up and bring pots with you.

Anyway, this all sounds really cool. Maybe the best thing thing of all is that they're finally sharing their future plans with the community. It sucks when you're totally in the dark about everything.

I think I'm gonna let them work on it for another month or so and then try playing again. Maybe start from scratch with a new Epith character.

Yosei 03-03-2008 12:42 AM

Yeah I hope they stick with whats in the announcement. Although some 50s may have issues with the exp thing. Alot of 50s grind in FoS which has 80 mobs if I can recall their level.

Ennya 03-03-2008 12:55 AM

Sounds neat, but i don't think they should change the level up quest. It was pretty easy as long as you had scrolls and pots. Anyhow, it should be somewhat challenging.

50's wont be affected.

All monsters in the Forest of Slumber have a level less than 80. Highest levelled monster is the Joker trumpy comming in at a whopping 79.

40's will be affected.

Increase exp would be welcome. Somewhere inbetween 0 and a 50% increase would be nice. This weekends experience bonus due-to-problems-with-maintenance is a shot at what the experience rates should be like. Although I wouldn't go as far to say it should be 50%. Perhaps something in the middle.

It definitely made the long haul easier.

Furthermore, we do need quests. Supposidly some levels in the 70-79 range have no quests whatsoever.

Hessah 03-03-2008 01:40 AM

just out of curiousity.. how much exp is needed in lvl 78 to get to lvl 79?

like 100mil?

and YAY for increase HP/SP stones... Fighters can how hv more SP~

Ivramire 03-03-2008 01:46 AM

I think lvl 79 needs 23mil to lvl?

so 78 is 20,21 mil?

O-mie 03-03-2008 02:02 AM

Some of the things appear to be too easy and seems to baby players. =\ I mean the level 20 job change is easy enough as it is, lmao. Why dull it down?

I'm also wondering if you're powerleveling somebody on high mobs, if they will still get 1 exp, even if they're within YOUR range.

Some of the other stuff seems cool, I guess. However I'm not exactly expecting to be impressed - its outspark, after all.

Ivramire 03-03-2008 02:14 AM

Still, I'm kinda expecting something to go horribly wrong.

I'm not sure why......oh wait I do.

Blaaaaaaaah 03-03-2008 02:18 AM

- Skill Scroll pricing for levels 20 ~ 40 will be lowered approximately 2 to 3 times cheaper.
Can plz maek 50+ skillz chipper>?? -poor-

- Maximum HP/SP stone capacity will be increased approximately 2 to 3 times more.
YESYESYESYES!! Am I the only one here that's extremely happy about this?

- Cool down time for Archers AoE skills will be lowered. (This is the first step to working on Class Balance Issues). More to come...

YAY! Even though I don't main as an archer, that's cool.

- Job change at level 20 will be signifigantly easier
.
A lot of people may say that the job change is easy, but it's not like that for everyone. I have had a few people coming up to me and asking me for help with the job change. I think this quest is hard for those who are completely new to mmorpg or something. Not sure. Doesn't really affect the people who already knows how to do it anyway.

1. Guild Tournament System
2. Guild Growth System
3. Lucky Bag
4. Cooking System
5. Offiical Wedding Service
6. Advanced Mini House Features

They all sound cool. Anyone know what they're referring to for the advanced mini house features?

- Bind Stones
What's that?

Anyway, I am excited. I am not expecting them to do all this by the March patch, I know that's almost impossible since.. that's really a lot of things to work on, and I prefer them to bring the updates in a bit at a time to reduce the amount of mistakes that may arise. But, I'm happy to know that they're working on stuff. :D

Hessah 03-03-2008 02:19 AM

they're not patching everything at once... so it shouldnt be tooooo bad... i dont think it'll be too much bigger than wat we've got already XD

O-mie 03-03-2008 02:26 AM

You expect something to go wrong lvra, because, its outspark, and outspark is good at outsparking things. D'oh!

aLvhin 03-03-2008 02:27 AM

- Cool down time for Archers AoE skills will be lowered. (This is the first step to working on Class Balance Issues). More to come...
- Success rate for +1 ~ 6 for Grade 1 Enhancement will be increased.

this was cooooool.

Mindspank 03-03-2008 02:51 AM

Awesomeness.

I have no expectations whatsoever because its a free game. But I like the direction its going. And when you have no expectations, you cant be disappointed.

^ What she said! ^

Hopefully everyone will just accept the issues that will without a doubt arise with the implementation of each enhancement. There is always the potential for issues but again, changes are good and over time the issues will be smoothed out also!

YAY! ENHANCEMENTS!

Zwivix 03-03-2008 03:50 AM

Well all those things look very promising.

I just love their doing something with the Guilds, we just wont be a tight group of people anymore. Well have more to do.

I wonder if they'll give you bonuses for getting married?

Ralath 03-03-2008 04:41 AM

- Skill Scroll pricing for levels 20 ~ 40 will be lowered approximately 2 to 3 times cheaper.

Hooray! Won't help me much! Wished they would extend it to like lvl 55 so I could take advantage... :3 I might hold off on buying lvl 4 Multishot now... XD

- Maximum HP/SP stone capacity will be increased approximately 2 to 3 times more.
Except that means more silver for me to spend to buy them... >.<

- Exp will be increased in Battle Field zones
I was wondering why those dang Abysmal Goblins took twice/three times as long as regular Goblin Mages and gave the same exp... >.>

- Cool down time for Archers AoE skills will be lowered. (This is the first step to working on Class Balance Issues). More to come...
Hella effing YES. About dang time... Though our power and aimed shots could use the decreased cool down too. I dun even use my ONE AoE that much... But... I'm not complaining. :D

- Job change at level 20 will be signifigantly easier.
Though to be fair.... it's lvl 20 when most of us are nubbier. I did die once... @.@

But that's because I didn't know what scrolls and buffs were!!!

- Killing a monster 30 levels or higher than your current level will only give you 1 exp. This is not final and has room for discussion.
Gets rid of the plvling?

- Levels 1 ~ 30 monsters will now drop random weapons and armor.
This one confuses me... haven't they always?

2. Guild Growth System
3. Lucky Bag
4. Cooking System
5. Offiical Wedding Service
6. Advanced Mini House Features

All interesting. Wonder if they'll bring out BK's Mini House features where you can actually go inside and stuff. n.n

This has seriously been one of more exciting updates for me personally.. ^^

a.L 03-03-2008 04:44 AM

So multi-shot finally becomes more useful. Somewhat.

Loveless 03-03-2008 07:10 AM

Eh~ Makes me think about holding off buying skills for my Fighter. D: But I like what I'm seeing in regards to the stuff coming this month (or next month).

Some stuff are definitely confusing but Multi Shot cooldown is a start. Though I'd rather have had Power and Aimed shortened instead. The thing about lower level production materials being sold is nice too (SBL!! XD), now if they allowed all characters to have all the production skills available to us. :3

Hyper 03-03-2008 07:17 AM

Woot. I hope this makes the game less boring... Doubt it. (Not much effects 5x's?)

$10 says that Bind Stones are the +15% success rate enhancing things.

Enraya 03-03-2008 07:18 AM

Archer AoE Skill Cooldowns

I'm definately not complaining, but I think they're cooling down on the wrong skills .___.
We're not made for AoEing, can we please get a cooldown on our power/aim shots? @___@
But as they said, this is a first step to class balance issues ... and I'm glad that they've taken a step ^^

Level 20 Class Change Quest

I thought this was pretty easy @____@

Wedding/Guild Stuff

Sounds great! ^^ I'm definately looking forward to guild events. Don't really know how they're going to incorporate all of that stuff, but it's nice to have a cool bond with the rest of your guildies ;O

Even though they mucked up on some of their patches, I think that they were either saving up the good news or really trying their best now. This is a lot of stuff, even if it's spread out over time <3

We dont have to accept anything...

Its rather simple, and most of the people defending outspark in this thread simply dont get it. Outspark has the ability, and resources, to assure that faulty patches never make it into our system. You guys can say that outspark simply gets the patches. Yes thats true, but its not like it has to be applied.

All it takes is a 1 day test of all the maps, all the character skills by an employee, to find simple mistakes like a bug with a skill, or a gate that shouldn't be there, or a decreased drop rate.

If they test it, then the flawes will be exposed before release. They can simply contact OnsOnsoft to correct it BEFORE they release it.

nerdzo 03-03-2008 11:08 AM

OMG. i can get sbl from npc? :O

Zucchini 03-03-2008 12:29 PM

:3 Hopefully i can get my lvl 37 skills cheap. <3

NotMyWay 03-03-2008 12:34 PM

I wonder if we will get refunds for money already spent on skills?

And i dont think buying materials from NPCs will help at all... from what i understand of this announcement, SBLs should be 30c (thats about how much they sell for anyway) and other items like tough meat (i think worth about 5-10c?) will be sold for like 30c.... how does that help?

Hazu 03-03-2008 02:19 PM

^-^ Im Happy they are finally doing something about the archers =D

-.-; And I dont find the lvl 20 quest easy.. it was Easy for my archer but I still cant pass it with my cleric. D= Im too used to being an Archer, cause we pwn.

XP The Dance thing sounds fun

D= And once I star talmost catching up they raise the lvl cap. >< EVIL.
=/ Though im like 30 lvls away from 80 >.> but still

SeikeiMurasaki 03-03-2008 05:34 PM

I love the fact that you don't get exp from monsters lvl 30+ your lvl! No more plvling! I love it! >:3

Azling 03-03-2008 05:42 PM

No Offense to anyone but the clone has like 5000 hp that aint easy to take down so i think they should give it 3000 that will make it a lot easier

Spirit 03-03-2008 08:07 PM

Yepyep. I think for those that do not know what is going on the job change could be hard. I read the wiki before doing mine for all 4 of my classes and they were easy to me. However, someone who does not have the heads up and does not know what to expect, may have some trouble with it. Especially the younger kids that are playing. :)

And @ Loki, yepyep, no mater how much testing, planning, and double-checking, issues always arise, not just in thris game but everywhere, that is why they came up with Murphy's Law. :)
