Server comparision

What is the difference between the servers and which one should a new player choose? I have read that Teva is the most populated one, as well as the one with the most server downs, but what are the differences between apoline and bijou?

Lady-Loki 02-25-2008 02:15 PM

I don't know that there is officially any difference between any of the servers. I think Teva has more downtime simply because it has more players.

Ivramire 02-25-2008 02:17 PM

I'd wait until the new server opens, hopefully sometime today.

NotMyWay 02-25-2008 02:17 PM

I mean like in terms of population, economy, quality of community, ratio of classes, and so on?

Ivramire 02-25-2008 02:26 PM

Apoline recently passed Bijou in number of people because it was moved to the top of the server list.

I've never paid much attention to server economies, mostly Npcing my stuff.

Apoline has a slightly better community, just based on what a friend who played both servers told me.

Think there's too many clerics in Apo and a slight decrease of Fighters in Bijou,
but don't take my word for it =X

Hyper 02-25-2008 02:38 PM

I'd wait for the new server. Or Teva.

In terms of community, Apoline has the best, with Teva and Bijou behind.

PLEASE, don't be named "Anis"! D<

O-mie 02-25-2008 02:38 PM

I don't think right now, you can really say "This is the best server". I think Teva does have more population though - most people here are tevans.

toolrocket 02-25-2008 02:56 PM

I'd say doesn't matter. Find out which GM you like the best and then find out which server he hangs out on the most.

NotMyWay 02-25-2008 02:59 PM

I dont like any GM...

nerdzo 02-25-2008 03:22 PM

go for teh new server! xD
teva's economy is... lets just say prices are high (yay for merchants like elfy and joe? now i can't afford items). and inflation caused prices of mats to go up like crazy xD (mainly sbl)

Loveless 02-25-2008 03:39 PM

It seems that Apoline does have a nice community and a good number of Clerics for sure. As it is right now the lag is horrible. I wouldn't start a new character in Apoline simply because you will never leave Roumen due to the amount of lag, same with Elderine. If you're waiting to start new, take everyone's advice and wait for the new server.

Yosei 02-25-2008 04:15 PM

I'd say wait for the new server.

O-mie 02-25-2008 04:41 PM

Nobody has anything to say about Bijou? XD I actually think Teva prices went down. o_O Well on gear and stuff anyways, lmao.

Yosei 02-25-2008 04:44 PM

I'm sure Teva has the lowest prices since its been around longer, more stuff has been farmed, there are more players, and more competition. I'd imagine Bijous prices being the highest.

Hyper 02-25-2008 07:33 PM

I agree with Elfenlied and joecracker destroying Teva's economy.

A lot of things in Apoline are cheaper.

Ivramire 02-25-2008 07:39 PM

I'm actually forced to review something from economics >.>

They're essentially creating a monopoly >___<

Yosei 02-25-2008 07:46 PM

A lot of people in Teva seem to not get how economics work. When prices should be dropping a lot of them raise them. Scrolls for instance.. T1s have been generally 100-150c, which seems like a fair price, since it seems like everyone can make them. But lately I've seen them raising to 200-300c. I know its player controlled, but when its time for competition, you should lower your prices, not raise them. I'd never buy a T1 scroll that was 200c+.
So tip to everyone, when you see a competitor selling for higher.. for instance, something that should be 5s and they're selling for 10, for the sake of the economy, don't sell it at 9.5s, just keep your prices, and you will definitely get more customers in the end. And the over-pricing seller will be forced to lower his/hers too.

O-mie 02-25-2008 07:59 PM

I always end up selling for under the price. <_< mostly because waking up to a shop that still has stuff to sell is heart breaking D:

100c is overpriced on any scroll, in my opinion.

I clear one storage page's worth of Vitality Tier 1 within two hours.

Guess people like my prices better.

Yosei 02-25-2008 08:20 PM

Weren't they like between 25 and 50c in CB? I can't remember.

Spirit 02-25-2008 08:54 PM

I sell my scrolls for lower than that, but not as low as Triumph. I still do really really well selling them. I think I price my T2 and T3 scrolls chaeper than most people, but I am making a decent profit, so I do not see the reason to raise the prices simply because other people are selling them for higher. This just means mine will sell first.

Ulrike 02-25-2008 09:01 PM

I play on Bijou, but I only made my decision because my IRL friends who all started playing Fiesta before me were already in Bijou lol. As a personal rule of thumb though, I like to avoid the oldest server when I play a mmorpg in fear of lag since I own a Dell P.O.S. laptop.

Hessah 02-25-2008 10:21 PM

I'm often a seller more than a buyer in game...

The price of scrolls increased probably coz the materials costed to make it increased...

ppl selling SBL LQ for 35c a piece O_O, and i saw someone selling SBL T2 for 400c and someone bought it!!!

Those ppl who buys these mats to make scrolls will hv to increase their price to make profit...

I've noticed that the T2 scrolls price have increased... it use to be about 1.5s, but last weekend within 24 hrs i sold 150 T2 aim scrolls for 2s each...

As long as other people will buy it off me, I will price it as high as i would like... who's to define how much a scroll should cost anyway?

Zeitgeist 02-25-2008 10:50 PM

Well im playing on Bijou from teh beginning

population: decreasing, due to server list
economy: inflation on godly equips (specially on fighter gears), scrolls etc r okay
quality of community: .... no comment :<
ratio of classes: enough fighter, enough clerics, few but increasing mage, few and decreasing archer.

i guess.
