Runescape

ummm, i was just wondering >.>
why did you all play runescape at
some point in your lives?
cause the graphics kinda hurt my
eyes and i couldn't take it *one of my game preferences are having good graphics*
and are all those
warnings true before downloading
the game? cause i kinda got
scared and if so,
is that the reason why Bla~ahs
is what she is know
and does spirit play it too?

Hessah 02-17-2008 09:05 AM

Runescape was free.... u didnt hv to d/l any client... runs on dial-up....

i played it YEARS ago when our computer was crappy and it was my 1st MMO i didnt know anything about good graphics game....

Enraya 02-17-2008 09:11 AM

Yeah, basically what hessah said .___.

I actually kinda didn't know what a MMO was ... I just heard people talking about Runescape, looked at it, and played it 8D It was free, it was cool (at that time xD), you could do lots with it.

a.L 02-17-2008 09:16 AM

I've never played it before. It's all personal preference, anyway. Some may like it, some may not.

Ralath 02-17-2008 09:34 AM

Runescape is actually not a terrible game once you get past the graphics (and no, for me, graphics are an added plus, not a necessity--I grew up on "bad" graphics--Mario, Sonic... etc.)

And they had fun quests that made you do all this stuff or join a guild and the PvM was easy. You just attacked the monster and sat there. Not like Fiesta or other MMOs where you have to spam stuff all the time.

But I really like the skill system in Runescape. Fiesta's just... doesn't compare. Like in Runescape, you could craft your own armor and cook and fish and other stuff that made the grinding seem less important... Not that I ever got my skillmaking up that high but... cutting down trees and lighting them on fire was fire. ^^:

Blaaaaaaaah 02-17-2008 09:44 AM

I can't remember much about Runescape anymore. Except you can do LOTS of things on it.

But, that was many years ago, back when I was still new to the computer and the internets, my expectations were low and back then - I reckon that runescape graphics were awesome, LOL. Of course, with all the new games now, the graphics can't compare, but then it was this game that got me into the whole mmorpg thing, I reckon.

a.L 02-17-2008 09:48 AM

lolol "awesome".

Triumph 02-17-2008 01:35 PM

From the start, it looked like you could do a lot on RuneScape.

Once you hit level 70 or so in each skill, however, it gets monotonous.

I have personal experience with that.

Celebrity 02-17-2008 07:05 PM

I could play a stick figure game if its fun...I also still play final fantasy 7-8-9 and those graphics were crazy xD. Its just runescape has and still does many things to do. Its just the community that made me quit it.

The first MMO I played that ran on dial-up was Diablo. Despite the crappy graphics in that game, it was still a good game.

Mistikl 02-17-2008 07:35 PM

Runescape was the first MMO I played. I was 10. I was all 'wow I can play with other people!!' Basically, me and my friend ran in circles.

Lady-Loki 02-17-2008 08:31 PM

What they said, for the most part. And I haven't logged into Runescape since Fiesta went open Beta, so yeah, apparently graphics matter a bit to me.

Plus I had several creepazoids in Runescape act all perved, so I was losing interest fast anyway.

Hessah 02-17-2008 10:59 PM

i think i logged into RS once recently... i couldnt stand the graphics! i logged out 1 min later XD

Diablo! My first love!

And it's still a fun game. Just dupe yourself a Something Something Armor of the Whale and you'll be good through endgame. :P XD

I still play Diablo 2: LoD when I'm bored sometimes.

PAstEl 02-18-2008 10:47 AM

thankies

lol, ty!
for the response
actually Fiesta is my
first ever Online game
and i kinda got
irritated at the start cause
my character was all close up
and i couldn't really
see the whole view,
and i just wandered around
using my stick to wham
slimes and i was cursing the
game for the exagerated zoom-ins
till my brother doodled with
my comp and rolled the scroll button
and poof! I was all yay!
till i got money problems
till i was 20 and always wondered
how did the players here get their
money... >.<
good thing i overheard someone
talking of npc'ing and so i tried
and was like yay! again
then i saw the silvers on
20 armor, weps and skills
and was like
"..."
anyways, regarding that topic...
i was just bored one day till
i decided to try and
play games
and the first thing i saw
was runescape i was all
excited cause it was like free! and downloadable God!
but when i saw the graphics i ditched it
and out came Fiesta thanks to Newgrounds!
wooo!

No. Java will never get godly graphics most likely. And they don't realize they are basically in RS3.

Zwivix 02-18-2008 10:15 PM

Yeah there in Rs3,4,5,6 and beyond. They will never get better off a Java based game.

Triumph 02-19-2008 04:03 AM

The whole marketability of RuneScape is that it is a game powered by Java; thus, it is easily accessible to the majority of the modern gaming population. As stated before, users with dial-up or antiquated fifteen year old computers can likewise play the game. (I have one myself and it runs, albeit laggy).
