Psst... did you check?
Did you guys check your e-mail with the Outspark's survey? Make sure you do it to help them make the game and Cash Shop better.
Seriously, I mean it. .__. |
Lawl, I barely check my email @.@ I remember back in December I found my "Welcome to Closed Beta!" email, lmao
|
._. I didn't get one.
|
yeah i did! i did the survey.. the questions were bias... (have u bought cash, have u bought this, will u buy it again... they should be like "are u happy with this? why are u not happy with that?)
i wish i print screened one of the chart they had in there!!! i stared at it for 5 mins going.. u gotta be kidding me.. it was like "which of the following would u like to buy?" and they had a list like Hat, Body, Leg, Weapon, Potions, Mount, Leveling Pack.. then next to each u choose 1 hr ($1), 3-5 hrs ($3), 12 hrs ($5) etc.. then 1 month was $15, 1 Year $20 and Perm for $30.... i was like... i'm not gonna buy any single item for $15 for a month! i think i ticked that i'll buy a mount for a year for $20.. then it asked "would u buy the above items" and i said NO! TOO EXPENSIVE!! LOL |
Yea, I got the email even though Im still banned until the official launch lol
Havent really bothered to check it though. Ill fill it out though since Ive bought prems before |
I didn't get it :( maybe it's only for selected ppl.
|
u gotta tick that u would like promotional materials i think
|
I did same here, Hessah. :D
Outspark is on something if they think we're going to buy outfits for $30. Or weapons, for that matter. I love how this survey has NOTHING to do with actual gameplay. It was all about how they can best convince us to spend our money on them. |
I would buy weapons for $10 8D
|
lol i will check email >.>
I usually only check it when i get around 1000 messages of spam. |
I checked that I would get the permanents for $30. In most I wrote how things were too expensive. :P Seriously, the points to money ratio is rather ridiculous (and yet I have a Val set, haha).
@Laifun: Omg, I read your sig weird and I though it said STR Mage. Lmao |
yeah the val set >< i'll buy the raccoon + hat + body + beauty coupon for $15 for a month ONCE...
but their table implied 1 thing for $15 a month is just a no-no... atm stuff are not even $5 for a month =/ |
You can buy a brand new computer game for $30.
True story. |
oh..i deleted it ;P, i think it's not important, sry :(
|
In my opinion, after seeing the other versions of fiesta, I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for some permanent stuff.
In other versions you can buy permanent mounts with in game currency. So why should I have to spend 30 bucks for a permanent mount when other people in the world are getting it for free? Plus the prices are pretty rediculous considering there isn't much depth to this game besides killing monsters over and over again. |
I got one. but I didn't read it. D:
|
The prices on there were completely ridiculous.
|
I do love how they said that it's to improve gameplay experience...
when the whole survey was about the Cash Shop. They Phail. |
Sheesh it was only a survey @.@
|
Yesh... it was... but still...
I think a lot of people believe that Outspark is really biased towards the Cash Shop based on events like the trading of the skill scrolls being fixed in a week or less, but the 2H fighter bug waited forever. Then Outspark gives a survey about improving the gameplay... and only asks about the Cash Shop... It's all running around and around in circles dear. ^^ |
yeah.. but i guess u cant blame them for putting $$$ 1st... its jsut human nature... (or corporate nature)
|
It really is...
companies are based off profit. |
Well duh, no business is pure philanthropy.
|
I don't know...
it kinda just makes me feel like they're more interested in gaining new players rather than making the existing players happier. I could be wrong... but that's how I feel =/ |

we've now got the val day event that allows non-CS players to customise their look without TOO much effort.... they're not ALL bad~~ |

#1 A PERM CS item and #2 A Beauty Shop coupon! I was like... eh?! *buys King Choco for 60s* |
Here's the thing. In order for the game to stay up and running for the ones that do not/cannot buy things in the CS, they NEED us that can and will buy from the cash shop. We provide the company with money needed to run/better the game.
With that said though, I think they are trying to keep cash shop users, non-cash shop users, new and old players happy. They are just limited on what they can do, when they can do it and how they can do it. But, yes, allowing the Beauty Shop coupon to be given as a quest reward shows that they DO care about the non-cash shop users and they are giving ALL the players a fair shot at something that a few months ago everyone was complaining about because it was only available to CS users. No matter what they do, they will never be able to make everyone happy. But, they are making an effort, so we need to make the effort to realize it and be more patient with them. :) kk, I'm done now. :D |
I do believe that if they improve gameplay (ie, fixing bugs) they will gain new players without trouble and keep the current ones.
I've sort of given up on them getting the bugs fixed versus the cash shop additions. So I'll try to somehow get them to improve 'something' by completing surveys. |

As for the 2H fighter bug -vs- the trading of the skill scrolls being fixed in a week - keep in mind that Outspark has said (if I get time I will search for where it was said) they do not have control over game-play matter whereas they do have control over cash shop matter. It seems that they can control what is in or out of CS, what prices and length of item time. As for the survey, that goes to the same explanation as the glitch repair - what Outspark has power to change themselves rather than going back to the game devs. They need CS users to help grow the business so they need to know what we want to see in the CS. |
Yeah, they have control over the CS system completely. But as for glitches with skills and such, that is in-game system stuff that is applied with the patches. They don't make the patches, they don't make the game, so there is only so much they can do. They have to wait just like we do, they have to wait for the developers to make another patch that will fix the glitches that came with the last one.
|
Well, if they have enough regular CS buyers then they may eventually be able to hire their own dev team to fix bugs. Hey, it might happen y'know?
*trying to be optimistic about cs* .__. |
I filled it out. Hopefully it will expedite the shift of our cash shop towards BK's or Shine's :D
|
People keep saying that people have to support them by purchasing from the cash shop so that they can afford to make the game better. Then you also turn around and defend Outspark for the lack of game content saying that they actually have no power to make the game any better, or make any changes at all for that matter. It's a bit of a mixed messege.
So basically then no matter how much money you pump into them it isn't going to affect the actual gameplay at all since the changes will come how and when they come either way. All the players should feel responsible for is covering all the costs of keeping the game up and running, but those prices don't indicate that to me. They're trying to squeeze as much out of payers as possible, (naturally it is a business), but it's still not fair and seems a bit greedy seeing as all the profit they get doesn't reflect on the game the payers are playing. Those prices are high, way too high if you ask me. For the price of a few items I could buy a new pay to play game with much more content and a few months of play time. Does it really cost that much to run this little game? I highly doubt it. More likely the cash shop players are just paying to help them launch and host other games that they don't have any control over and so take no responsibility for content-wise. Pretty nice racket really. Also don't forget that Outspark isn't exactly rubbing pennies together. They've received pretty significant funding. I think I read it was like 4 million dollars for the startup and then they received another 11 million dollars in a second round of funding last month. What are they gonna do with all this funding and any cash shop profits if they can't actually improve the games they host? |
I've often wondered about that as well, about just how much it costs to run a MMORPG, and just how much is profit for companies like Outspark and Nexon. Back when Everquest was all the rage (which was what? 10 odd years ago? xD), I predicted to my friends that eventually, monthly subscriptions for MMOs would be a thing of the past. Of course back then they all laughed at me, quoting high figures that were definitely not backed up with any source whatsoever, but whatever, we were all middle schoolers.
Fast forward to 2008, and while WoW is still pretty healthy games like Guild Wars and certainly all the "cash shop" style games have kind of made my prediction come true. Maybe if one were to sift through economy journals one would find actual figures on how much these companies require and how much revenue they really generate. |
^Sifting through economy journals trying to find out how much revenue companies generate??
...That sounds fun. |
lol, I only mention that because when I used to play Maple Story I belonged to a community on livejournal, and one of the users did exactly that and found a paper on Nexon's revenue from MS xD
|
The thing, Outspark still has to pay for overhead, payroll, benefit packages for employees, utilities, rent on a building, and other business type expenses. We do not know what the funding is earmarked for. However, there may be requirements on how that money is spent and what it is spent for. I worked at one company, that would receive grants from the government in massive amounts, more than enough to run the company. However, the money could ONLY be spent on certain things. This still left all the other business expenses to be paid for. Our cash shop purchases may go to funding the other things that the funding does not cover.
