Harry Potter Discussion! Only If You Read It! [SPOILERS]
Why the hell does Hedwig have to die! And did anyone honestly think that Snape was still on the Good Side.
|
Harry Potter Discussion HERE
I've already finished the book. I thought it was really good. I told my friends what I thought was going to happen, AND I WAS RIGHT!!!. Woot!:D I won't give anything away. Any way, when you guys finish, leave your comments. I wanna here what people thought
|
why can't there be spoilers here? If there isn't then how can we talk about it? XD
|
it was a good book. I agree spoilers should be allowed or else there is no point exepct saying they liked or not.
|
they should know by the topic of this thread to not come in here...
|
I merged this thread with the thread that FlyingSnow created.
|
I thought Snape was good but I wasn't entirely sure..I couldn't bring myself to think he was a foe at all..
btw I couldn't understand when Voldie and Harry cast the last spells, that the Elder Wand flew up..wasn't Voldie using it? I didn't get it x.x I nearly cried when Harry talked to Dumbledore, not cause he died, but because of Dumbledore's story and how sincere he was. I actually wish Harry died. It would make more sense the story currently does. Because he was one of the Horcruxes and you had to destroy them to get rid of the soul. Harry died but he came back...I think it was stupid. He could of died and Neville will do his awesome move of killinig the snake and Voldie would die! |
-refuses to read the thread.-
-is on chapter 6.- CHAPTERS 4 AND 5 WERE AWESOME!! <3 |
but what woulda happened...if harry did mesh all the hallows together?would it make a Mesos?? Grando Mesos ^____________^ n eat everyones souls
|
o ok completely ignore my post >>
Harry has all 3 Hallows. He gets the Elder Wand from Voldie and he goes to get the Res Stone he dropped in the Forbidden Forest and of course he has the Cloak. But he won't use the wand because he likes his own wand. And he probably puts the Res Stone away so no one misuses it..though I fine it completely useless anyways..and he probably will give it to one of his kids I don't know which one |
Yay Albus Serveus Potter
It is kinda interesting how Harry sees Snape as the bravest man he knew 19 years later considering Harry despised him for so long. I thought the last battle between voltmort and Harry ruined the book a bit. I mean a 3 sec fight is just plain stupid. |
How did Hedwig die again?
I don't remember. >_> |
Killing curse.
|
Lolz guyz, they got aggroed by the death eaters during chapter 2ish. Then hedwig got pwnd bah one of tem so Harry tried to res him in midair. The endin battles with the DT/TT against Voldemort/Bellatrix was cool, but the duel against Voldemort was just gay. I actually lol'd with the Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione

And I think I get the fight now, it was in slow motion in the book. The spells hit each other and the Elder Wand goes flying because it wasn't going to kill it's master and then the spells go into Voldie and kills him and Harry catches the wand...right? XD |
that would be correct. Btw Hermonies gift from dumbldore had little use in the end since the story was told to them by Mr.Lovegood.
Also Hedwig was obliterated when harry blew up the side attachment car. |
Harry didn't blow it up, Hagrid did.
And they wouldn't have gone to Mr. Lovegood if they didn't see that symbol in the book. Also the book told them about the three Hallows. It was extremely useful. Also: I'm rereading the series..and I feel so bad when I read how much they hated Snape. I was like ;-; "poor guy.." |

I think the epilogue was nicely done, it was probably more for her than for us. So if she wanted to, she could make a new series using the kids.
I think the pairings she used was way too obvious and should of been more surprising. It would of been better than to assume the lot of 17yr olds all married their gfs/crushes by 19yrs. But oh well.. I think it's just to show nothing else out of the norm has happened and nothing will with Harry.. |
I haven't finished the book, but I have a question.
>> DID RITA SKEETER DIE? If yes (cheers) If no (brings out the cleaver and kills Rita) |
I'm sure she'll die sometime =3 but no where in the book does it say she specifically dies.
|
.. e_e;;
Did Dumbledore become alive again? The very end is just.. confusing me. D: |
no he is dead but just existing in spirit i guess and harry sees him on the other side and then goes back over to the living or something like that.
|
yeah that was so stupid, Harry should of died and everyone else could of killed voldie because he couldn't kill any of them anymore becuse of Harry's protection.
Dumbledore is dead, Harry was in the spiritual world, something like between heaven and hell, and Dumbledore greeted him and they talked and then Harry's spirit flew back to his body or whatever. >.> |
well on another note i liked the part where neville killed the snake. That was cool.
He was under a body-bind spell with the sorting hat on his head. Then Voledmort set the hat on fire with neville's face in it. Next thing you know he breaks the spell, throws of the sorting hat, pulls out the sword of godric griffindor out of the hat and slashes through the snake. Sweet!!!!!!!! |
I can't wait to see THAT in the movie..I'll be like YOU GO NEVILLE!
|
hmm......... what else should i talk about. i was like WTF with Neville's grandma and all that stuff
|
I liked the little twist at the end where the Elder Wand never belonged to Snape, but to Malfoy since he was the one that disarmed Dumbledore before his death. But I hated the fact that Voldemort killed off Snape in the way to gain more power, even though he didn't. :3
|
Snape's death suck :( I think it should of been better. I didn't want Snape to die ;-;
|
i just finished the bok about 30 mins ago.
Voldemorts death sucked, the epilogue sucked. It was overall decent, but alot of it sucked. |
Yeah. I thought there was gonna be more action in the final battle, but it wasl like..
Voldemort: AVADA KEDAVRA!! Harry: Expelliarmus! -Avada Kedavra was deflected because Harry is the owner of the Elder Wand and it won't kill it's own owner.- Voldemort: osht. *boom* mk. |
yeah, just a bunch of bullshit life stories and a little light =/
Krawps fight was more interesting thatn that. |
Harry should of died..it would be a bit better :(
|
if harry died then jk rowling wouldnt make more money incase she goes back on welfare >=(. how inconsiderate of u syn!
|
Are you guys talking about the last book (Deathly Hollows).
|
but harry did die! :O
|
I don't think so? I thought only the Horcrux inside of Harry was destroyed.
|
harry WAS a horcrux, there wasn't on inside him :O
and he did die, but he was at a sort of middle point between a chance to live again or dying on in peace :o |
Harry died but I think he came back because he technically owned all three Deathly Hallows. He had the cloak and the stone and the wand was technically his so he "conquered death". Book said whoever owned all three could conquer death and harry had all three so....makes sense to me that he could come back.
Everyone is given the chance to come back ( hence there are ghosts) SO if harry had come back normally, he would have come back as a ghost and not return to his own body, which makes the death hallows idea seem more right, at least to me |
I FINALLY READ THE DAMN BOOK! After all this time whining about not having received my copy, I finally finished it! And I love it.
I really liked the whole series. It's cool how some of the little details in the first 6 books were mentioned in the last one. I was so happy when I found out that Snape wasn't a foe afterall. After I read the 6th book, I didn't want to believe that he was a foe. I really hoped that there was some unrevealed secret that makes Snape the good guy, and TADA there it was in the book! I also liked how Rowling showed that Dumbledore wasn't as perfect as we all thought it was throughout the first 6 books. I used to think that having a perfect wizard who fears nothing in the book makes it "unrealistic" in terms of human nature, and that having a flawless character will just make the book dull because she could have just made him come up with some miraculous plan in beating Voldemort. Thankfully she didn't, and reading about Dumbledore recounting his past made me feel so sad. ;~; The epilogue was a little bit cheesy, but I liked it. I mean, I would have wanted to know what happened to some of the characters anyway, e.g. Neville. But man, so sad how Fred had to die! His death was not needed! Lupin and Tonks were depressing enough. >_> I have one question though. Does anyone remember, in the 6th book (I think), how Dumbledore said something like "Remember my last" to Petunia through a Howler (I think)? Was he referring to how Petunia wrote a letter to him, asking to be accepted into the Hogwarts? But I don't get it. Anyone know? Edit: @secro: I agree with your explanation of Harry coming back alive. I didn't want him to die, and I was glad Ron and Hermione didn't die either. |
