Spirit 02-07-2008 05:44 PM

No, it is today for us in the States.

viasta 02-07-2008 06:12 PM

i dont think many azns count by US days, since every azn i know count by china time
anywayz, yesterday i got 170 USD in red envlope(sp) :D

Ulrike 02-07-2008 06:20 PM

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ongxifacai.jpg, http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ngbaonalai.jpg!

viasta 02-07-2008 06:24 PM

nope, I dont think I'll give you any red envolope.

Hessah 02-07-2008 09:23 PM

only married ppl hv to give out red envelopes

and u cant say Happy Chinese New Year for a week cant u?!

u get like 10 days to go around to all the married ppl and ask for red envelopes XD

viasta 02-07-2008 09:26 PM

you dont have to be married to give out red envelopes. Elders give to the youngers as their year allowance money. But youngers never give back, i think it's rude :/..But I do give Red envelope to my elders, as showing my thanks and respect :D

Hessah 02-07-2008 09:27 PM

really? as far as i'm concerned... as long as i'm not married... i dont hv to give any out... and i can keep collecting XD

viasta 02-07-2008 09:29 PM

my aunts that's not married gives out red envelopes :P

Hessah 02-07-2008 09:39 PM

maybe everyone's tradition is slightly different..

like my parents always give us 2 envelopes.. one from mum and one from dad... but i've seen other families where they just give 1 envelope from both parents...

Ulrike 02-07-2008 11:14 PM

back in Taiwan we would hassle even friends who are older for red envelopes :D But everyone's a good sport so even giving us 10 NT we'd be content ^__^

Hessah 02-07-2008 11:21 PM

LOL! giving red envelopes to ppl in the same generation sounds weird to me

Ralath 02-07-2008 11:25 PM

^Yeah.

But after you give them, you have to bow (ke tou).

...mmk. Well I never did. But I was supposed to... xD
