Width of Thread due to BIG image
I was just looking at the official forum, and some guy had a HUGE siggy which stretched the page...
but i've noticed that ONLY his post was stretched, and the rest of the thread remained in normal width... (see picture below...) http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/1312/bigsiggyqb9.jpg Is it possible to do that for our forum too? It makes other post easier to read... |
lol...i agree with him...this whole no limit might not be that good of a thing as hehe pointed out ...and who the hell finds a pic that big lol its HUGE!
ahh...ours auto adjust >_> unity ftw! |
yeah LOL well for us if we had a HUGE siggy, Mods will edit ur siggy and take it out XD
but like its not just siggy size... also any screenshots in a thread... like this one here.. coz my image is so big, it stretched the page out... not just for me, but for ur post too... which means i hv to scroll across to read ur thread.. but if we could improve it so that only my post is stretched, and everyone elses's post is at normal width... it'll make it easier to read other post on the same page.... |
hes doing it on purpose <.< He updated his sig. Its now something that is 2400x3000 But yeah, those kind of things are kind of annoying.

is there some settings i should change in my User CP? coz at the moment this thread looks like this to me... What it looks like for me now.. http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/2...retchedim5.jpg What i'm proposing.. http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9...siggyv2ir2.jpg |
GzF had a max of 500 x 150.
Worked well, anything bigger than that actually wasn't visible. |
Do not worry me and the Mods are aldready ahead of that.
I submitted a pre-signature and avatar guidlines. They seemed to like it and now waiting for an Admin to approve it. Also I have suggested the adittion of Spoiler tags and Righty even said it was a good idea, but I havent seen it put in... Edit: I suggested a max of 550x170. Anything bigger than that is just too big. I've worked with that on my previsouly made forums and it was fine. |
oh ok..
btw.. wat is spoiler tag? |
We were looking at a slightly bigger limit though, maybe 500 x 350 pixels, because some people like vertical sigs.

Any other comments on the Pm I sent? |
We're still deciding, because if we do what the officials does and only have one post stretch, then we probably won't really need a strict size limit. So we might be making a guide line instead or something, a bit like what you sent.
|
Yeah, thats what that is. Its the Avatar and Signature Guidelines for all Forums I create.
I also got a six page guide on how to navigate the forum...but I lost that document... |
you should have to scroll within each post, keep down load time and memory

There's a SIX page guide on how to navigate your forums? ... That's a complicated forum... |
No, it goes into the basics. It's mostly for people comepletely knew to the forum thing.
It has alot of images so maybe that would cut down about 2 pages. so 4 pages(In word of pure text of various sizes). I was very proud of it. ^^ |
Hi again =D
i thought a few days ago i saw that wat i suggested was implemented - only widen the post with a large picture and not other post in the thread... but then it's gone back to the old way... was i seeing things... or was it implemented for test? and it's been decided against? -just curious- |
Speaking of massive sigs, alexbre, your one is MASSIVE. Even though it's mostly text...
|
This has always annoyed me too. Not so much a sig problem as a general screen shot and other image problem.
I'd love it if you do something to keep it from stretching the whole page. Either stretching out individual posts like what Hessah's talking about, or just auto-resize all images over a certain size (with the option to click for full size) like other forums do. |
Hmm. It appears that it only works for signatures. We'll ask the admin. o:
|
Can't you (or Entropy) set it to resize larger images. Like this.
When I posted those I just used the regular IMG tags same as on here and it automatically sizes them down for the forum. |
