Money Problems?

Does anyone else have money problems? What are some of the ways to make money in this game? I'm close to being dirt poor and the only way I'm making money right now is selling NPCing everything mobs drop. Are there also certain items I need to keep a lookout for so I can sell them to players? I know I've NPCed a couple of "sbl" and someone told me they sell for alot to players, so I want to avoid doing that again in the future. Any advice would be helpful to me, thanks.

Saeles 12-22-2007 08:36 AM

I just try to keep everything I pick up, and sell it to people. Or make it into potions/scrolls/stones to sell to people. And participate in KQ's, so I can sell that stuff to people. Sadly.. I'm still dirt poor. :D I have no idea how the others do it.

iDerrick 12-22-2007 08:55 AM

yeah I just broke my +6 lv15 bow and bought several more bows just to make another +3 but failed most of them. Burned most of my money on making new bows, which was pretty stupid. All because I pushed my luck into getting a shiny bow.

Loveless 12-22-2007 09:04 AM

Never EVER enhance when you're poor. It will not work out for you.

As of now the drops are bugged so they only come to you in ones... I'd say sell all the materials you can to players. Open up a shop over night and that usually works. Other ways are... rest when you can while soloing to save pots/stones used. Have a cleric with you and if you're a cleric then only buy SP stones and 5-10 HP stones to save money.

PS. If you're in Apoline I'll buy your Beast Dogtooth and SBL... :P

Blaaaaaaaah 12-22-2007 10:43 AM

Yeah, I've been dead POOR all the way. I'm still kinda poor for my level, but meh, I have just enough to afford my skills and stones.

I decided to screw all the production skills and just NPC everything, and then buy whatever I need. I usually sell drops to NPC or to player shops who buy them for a higher price (but I usually sell them to my guildies now). xD

Scroll mats are pretty popular. I guess you should keep the SBL and Summoned Beast Fighter Tails or something (name is too long for me to remember LOL).

But yeah, I NPC most of my things. I also go king hunting with parties to get rare drops which can sell for quite a bit of money.

At level 20-29 you can go to Marlones Clan Hideout to hunt King Marlone.

At level 30-39 you can go to Graveyard of Dead to hunt Zombie King.

At 40-49 you can go Concealed Peak to hunt Giant Goblin King.

And so on~

Just make sure your party is trust worthy, and that they WILL somehow share the drops you get. I hear stories about people getting good drops then running away with. You'll have to meet a good group of people, people usually go with their guildies later on anyway.

iDerrick 12-22-2007 07:24 PM

Ah, thanks for the advice. Hunting kings would be rather hard though since I haven't really met a lot of people to party with yet lol. I've usually just been grinding solo and once in a while I'd manage to find someone to level with. But yeah, I suppose Ill stop producing elrues and scrolls for the meantime just to npc everything just so I can get over my poorness.

Loveless 12-22-2007 07:34 PM

Most players gain a good profit when they hit their 30s though. I know that when I played my cleric I hit my 100 silvers then... and because I've soloed most of my levels I've always made money.

Oh, one of the best ways to make money was to do the herb to return scroll quest. I made tons doing that. And because nobody wants a Roumen scroll you always pick Elderine and I sold them all for about 500 each. Don't know the prices now but I'm sure they'll give you a profit nonetheless.

Farm in Uru (if you can make it) and npc everything you get there. Dangerous if you can't handle any of the mobs, yes. But worth it if you can sneak past them to the farm stuff....if you to get mobbed, don't train the stairs though...make everyone mad >:<

Enraya 12-28-2007 04:10 AM

LOL
I remember fullback telling me that he's getting rich in Uruga xDD

Well, I can't contribute =__= I'm poor xD

Yeah, but since the big update, the drop rates from those mushrooms/wood/herbs have dropped significantly. I farmed for 1 hour and made around 15s. If the old drop rates had been in effect, I would have made 35-45s. Yeah, they have become that bad. Herbs/Wood/Mushrooms only drop 1 from each ( no longer can you get 3 fragrant mushrooms from one mushroom ) Farming is still profitable, but it will take 2-3 hours farming now to gain what you could have gained in 1 hour farming then.

Ya, just need to remember to go there when im not at 60%.

Enraya 12-29-2007 07:45 AM

LMFAO xDD
Yeah, best go farm in Uru if you have 0% (just leveled up). No losses that way, and you get good profit from farming <3

Look to my earlier post. Farming gives money but its really slow now.

iDerrick 12-30-2007 02:43 AM

What about mining? does that bring in the cash too? I remember NPCing copper ores for quite alot..

Rowell 01-02-2008 08:36 AM

I've tryed mining before..its pritty slow selling to NPC.Try selling for 25-35c in vendor. Its a good option if ur totally broke..like me^^

PyroKnyte 01-03-2008 03:02 AM

i buy b lix for 1s each and vend it 1.5s each, sells fairly quickly, i hav 415s in resserve right now im lvl 30 and also have a 31 archer :D

although thats only my way of making money

Wynaro 01-03-2008 08:29 AM

I started off kinda slow with scroll production. Always made a profit tho. spent 15 S, Sold Ment and Vit Scrolls for about 33 S. 18 S profit. Repeat :) I got one of my mules to Tier 2 stone production and now the cash is really flowing in. I lvl 32 now with over 200 S regularily ... aiming for my first gold :D

P.S. - I will not quit playing Fiesta until I have at least made 1 Gem (1000 Gold) XD

Zucchini 01-03-2008 09:04 AM

@_@ Make scrolls and pots. Start with pots first, since their mats are easier to get. You can decomp some stuffs for the mats too. If you can't, get someone to do it for you. I remember troubling Hessah every now and then to decomp my mats. XD
Next, sell it. It's best you get mats from mobs by yourself. It saves you money, and lets you lvl up. But that's slow. When you sell stuff, sell it cheap if you got it from mob drops but enough to make a significant profit. It's faster, and saves you time from waiting. After the pots craze, do scrolls. Make power scrolls ONLY. Def scrolls sell really bad and their price is about 80c only. Power scrolls are 100c. Next, make vitality scrolls and sell them for 120c. Voila! 100s in your bank. At least that's what happened to me. :D

Yeah, Im going to try that. Except, Im going to make a character just for farming and pots/scroll production.

Loveless 01-03-2008 06:16 PM

I think I'll get my cleric to start making stones again... with the Red Eyes and what not people are demanding those stones! :P

I find that occasional farming for saps is great but there's so many noobs around it's irritating (AEW is NOT for level 1 bug exploiting idiots). I've started again on my Fighter who I loves to run around and collect mobs... then Mock/Demoralizing Hit (can't wait for Devastate)... hit away for mats. I'm probably going to have it stay at the Lizardmen and get those SBL. I've finally gotten the T2 Aim scroll on my main so I'll be making a whole lot of that once I get those materials... XD

Fast money would be doing the dungeon bosses and selling their weapons. It's quick and easy... :3 I'm 30s away from my first gold... which will quickly disappear once I hit 60 but at least I got there.

Spirit 01-03-2008 06:28 PM

Making stones is a great way to make an easy profit. Especially since CS items have come out that helps people enhance. Now more people are willing to try it and need to buy the stones for it.

iDerrick 01-05-2008 12:23 AM

If you were in my shoes with around 1 silver and 300 copper with power scroll and elrue production skills, where would you start to start making money? Mass production of elrues?

NotMyWay 01-05-2008 01:15 AM

I would try to do both.

The reason for this is quite simple. Suppose you set up a store selling only elrues, maybe people would find it convinient that you are selling elrues, and buy your elrues to upgrade their items. Suppose u sell only power scrolls, players may occasionally buy your power scrolls before training. But suppose you sell both, its possible that they same person who bought ur elrues will also buy ur power scrolls. (btw, power scrolls actually increase aim and not power, i have tested them.) Of course its also recommended that you check what others in the area you plan to vend are selling, and try to sell different items.

If i remember correctlly, "The law of dimishing marginal returns states that for every additional unit of an item produced, u get decreasing returns". I wonder if it applies to fiesta...

Rowell 01-05-2008 03:11 AM

A tip on making elrue, make a mage and train it on mushrooms till lvl 8,bank the dust delete mage then repeat.Simple as tht=)

Oh wow, that sounds like a pretty good idea ;D
People that buy your elrues might suddenly "remember" that they will need to level up later and buy your scrolls as well.
Or just use up your scrolls on yourself. Scroll up on everything that you have, find a decent party, and go grinding on something that gives you very good dust drops. I remember Gold Slimes giving off nice dust drops ...

Now that they're fixing the drop rate, this should be easier =D

I'm going to overnight vend tonight since I've received a lot of stones from KQ rewards. Can anyone tell me what the average price of selling elrue and lix grades 1 and 2 are?

Hyper 01-05-2008 05:12 AM

Am I poor? Let's see...

• I just spent a +7 CG Bastard Sword, which I made, and 550s on my Halberd, and then I spent roughly 100s getting it from +3 to +6.

• I have mostly level 30 skills, and I'm 50 now.

• I buy two of three types of weapons and the shield.

• I have 1/8 of the max possible HP stones, which are 109c each.

Yes, I am broke. ^^

I would REALLY appreciate any donations of either normal, Blessed, or Lucky Xir [2]. Or fighter skills... xD

(avg prices)
Elrue[1] - 50 c (Blessed/Lucky - 500 c?)
Elrue[2] - 2 s (B/L - 4-5s?)
Lix[1] - 190 c (B/L - 700-1000c?)
Lix[2] - 4 s (B/L - 7-10s?)

iDerrick 01-05-2008 08:54 AM

Ah thanks, I think I've been underpricing my elrue T2s D:.

I have never sold Elrue[2]!! I was just guessing so the actual avg on Teva might be less? Now that you made me think a bit more about it, I think I might have seen them for 1.5 S :P

iDerrick 01-05-2008 06:37 PM

yeah, I was selling them for around 1s 200c.

Hyper 01-05-2008 07:27 PM

You got a good deal.

NotMyWay 01-28-2008 07:19 AM

and to think, someone offered to buy my shining ring of roumen for 80s.. (it is not for sale)

which reminds me of another way to make money. buy items cheaply and sell them slightly more expensive.

(*hinthint*my items are usually slightly below market price)
