The Result Of Power Leveling!!!

Yesterday a guy while being very polite asked me and my cleric if he can tag along with us, so i said "sure come along but we wont' plvl u to long". So we took him along at level 25.

AeW was FULL FoS was full so me and Mei (the cleric) decided to go in CP1 and aoe navars (yes just me and her ^^), all was good and after we get there we start doing our job.i was keeping aggro just fine and they barely did any damage to kill me (100 or so), so we were killing the whole room no problem. THAT WAS until the GREAT LEVEL 25 (after leveling he was 27) started mocking the navars off me after i mocked, most of the times his mock was to weak to have any effect but sometimes it would pull 1 or 2 on him. I tried to ignore the first few times on the issue that "well maybe he pressed the wrong key", but he kept doing it over and over and again. Eventually i got pissed and told him to stop and he replies "y i'm just doing it cuz is fun, it's not like it has any effect". I only replied ":/" and left him in his ignorance. After 5 minutes he does it again and dies and says "haha, i died but u know healing would be nice :/". I just couldn't take it anymore and replied him "she can't heal u if u get 1 hit KO u dork".

After that he apologized and cooled off for a while, but after reaching level 30 he started doing it again. THAT was the moment i banned him.

CONCLUSION: Don't power level people cuz the people u power level now are the people who will keep failing in the future. BY powerleveling someone u will get a high level character who doesn't even know what mock does :/, cuz apparently he had mock but didn't know is a skill that pulls aggro .

I have never tried plvling a random before, and I never plan to.

I really dislike people who go up to you and ask for plvl when you don't even know them. It's like, I don't know you, why do you beg me to help? =/ I've helped some random people do quests before, but I never plvled one.

Had this guy training two orcs on me and wacky, and then coming back asking to get plvl. Wth man. LOL.

Enraya 01-26-2008 01:53 PM

I still think it depends on the person.

As Leona said, the person was fine at first ... if he kept on being fine like that then all would've turned out well enough.
There are some people that don't know how to play their characters, whether it was out of plvling or not I don't know. But to be like that, they would rather have not read anything, no guides at all or have been plvled from 0x (as that was where most of the tutorials/stupid mistakes could be learnt).

I don't think plvling is necessarily an entirely bad thing, but of course that's biased in my opinion. In times when I felt bored plvling pulled me out of boredom.

But yeah, plvled and then not knowing what to do is just not that great. I mean, you're not going to get plvled all the way to lvl 50, right? Better to start learning your character right.

I could give u a few examples of people that didn't know fighters must tank, clerics must heal etc. I know people that daily message me, although i dont' even know them >_<, saying "can u help me level", and guess what they are level 55+.

VERY OFTEN STIX, u sound like a person that IS power leveled, now now first finish reading before u go all out :D, if u were to be power leveled u wouldn't still have been in your 3x's would u ;). THEREFORE i doubt u've ever been powerleveled. Y? Because going out with your guild getting 1 or 2 levels when u r in your 30s is not EXACTLY BEING POWER LEVELED. a person that is power leveled goes from level 30-40 in day max 2 =), that is what power level is =). So cut yourself some slack and dont' sound as if u r getting powerleveled =P.

My story is a plvling story, because that guys went from level 25-30 in about 40 minutes or so.

Watch this >_<, a guy kept trying to train me for 10 freakin minutes bringing 10+ blue clovers on me when i was soloing >_< (bad luck for him i had charm of might on lolz), he kept pulling and pulling saying "haha this is nice, die die die", in a way i was gratefull ^^ cuz i didnt' had to go pull the trumpies myself and they would die in 2-3 hits anyways =] but his intention still made me mad. After that i go to city and guess what he starts spamming my whisper saying "party party party party party", than for 10 freakin minutes he kept spamming me with party invites, than he tried to add me to friends WTF.

I would've warred and killed that dork, problem was he was guildless :/, NOW he is in a guild so tonight i might have some fun.

Ivramire 01-26-2008 02:17 PM

Mage: Powerleveled from 1-18,Full-INT build, has never cast a spell, didn't know how to...>.>

-Leona- 01-26-2008 02:21 PM

I once did plvl a friend from level 1-30 in about 2 hours maybe less ^^, but he deleted his character by accident ^^.

Aww, okay xDD I've always considered it plvling, as when I didn't make scrolls 7/10s of my hits missed o__o" And when it did hit, it was really little damage.

I can imagine my temper flaring if I met a person like that.

O____o
Lol ... ?

I'm not against plvling if it's an alt, or if it's 2x above. People from below 2x should really refrain from getting plvled, because that's where you get to make all your mistakes at a very low cost, get all your armour, and learn everything basic. If you don't do that, it's going to be harder if you don't understand what your character is built for.

I can't give u examples of other classes but as a fighter starting getting plvl at level 20 is terrible, at level 20 is when u get mocked. GET Plvl and u wont' know how to tank, and that is the main reason u see so many stupid fighters out there, cuz they have no idea what to do with their class.

Patchouli 01-26-2008 02:54 PM

I think it is powerlevelling/leeching if you could remove the person from the party and have no noticable difference in the effectiveness of the party.

I used to occasionally party unknown low levelled clerics, but they almost universally always would come back to bother me later, asking for free stuff and so on, so I gave up on that.

Wait, what, when you play cleric you're supposed to heal people? What is this? :D

(You do get bad players like me who soloed the cleric all the way and never partied, so are abysmal at supporting and likely to run off and hit things :p)

I dont ask for free stuff...

but i agree that noobs shouldnt be powerleved. I've been in parties where the members are higher level then me, but at least i know how to heal effectively. Just dont plv the noobs who have no manners?

Spirit 01-26-2008 03:20 PM

I was in Uruga one day and ran into this guy on the steps. He asked for help so, I decided to help him out. My guildies and I leveled him up, but in the meantime we had another guildy that needed help with a quest. We told him we had to go and he got very upset with us. It irritated me because we didn't have to help him, yet we did anyway. He said he was 16 in a previous conversation, but the way he was crying about us leaving him, you would have thought he was much younger.

-Leona- 01-26-2008 03:50 PM

I would've made him feel like a real ass if he acted like that after u helped him ^^. Also i would've warred and killed the fool ^^

Yosei 01-26-2008 03:54 PM

I say only powerlevel the people you know. This is why we get idiots in KQs, and thus fail. They were probably powerleveled and don't know how to do their job. If they don't know how, they might as well fail at a low level and give up then.

Spirit 01-26-2008 03:55 PM

THe thing that I dont understand about some of these people is that they are in guilds. wth? Why will thier guildies not help them out? If one of our guildmates needs help, we are always there for them. If they want to level, we help them level, if they need help with a quest, we help them with that.

Not all guilds are created equal.

just logged in Outspark to check on things and this guy started begging for plvl saying his guild would ban him if he didn't get to 40.

*I think you can tell which lines were mine >.>

viasta 01-26-2008 04:05 PM

powerleveling are stupid, why cant they lvl by themselves. How hard is leveling~_~+

-Leona- 01-26-2008 04:05 PM

Not all guilds are concentrated on helping members with parties, Other people won't like to party with people around their level even if they are guildies because they would prefer getting power leveled in uruga. SOME guilds simply just recruit so they can jump other guilds in wars while not caring to much about their members,

OMG yos ^^ i totally agree with u ^^.

THIS might sound cruel but when i power level my friends i occasionally stop and make them tank heal or whatever giving them pointers on how to do it :). At least that way he learns how to play ^^.

Take as an example Whassap, he came on this forum a few times, i helped him level quite a bit when he was in his 30 and 40. than we started working as a team more of that after he got to 60+.

YES is true that he partied with people that were higher than him BUT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT GUYS, soon enough he will become one of the top 5 if no 3 tankers in TEVA :). He is almost pure end, he has awesoem equips that will be +9, knows how to mock, knows when to use skills, his devastate is fully enhanced, he has all it takes to be become one of fiesta's greatest tanks ^^.

I wish there were more people of his talent around his level :(. When he used to go in MD KQ, even though he would not die more than once in the whole kq i dont' remember they won that kq more than 1 or 2 times because the rest of the people in there were mostly morons (sorry for the word but is true), when u see a whole bunch of fighters that rest in shroom is just annoying >_<.

He looks like someone who just uses excuses to get powerleveled, I would have gone into mean mage mode and told him boo frickin hoo I got to 60 the honest way.

I cant guess some of the last few lines, but being a paladin doesnt mean u have to help every single beggar... while this has hardly every happened to me, i get a lot of spams when i go to roumen... just a tip though, if ur going roumen, u may want to consider unequipping all ur clothes.

I have a question though: how did you empower "item pick up"?

AngellicDiety 01-27-2008 03:41 AM

My philosophey is zero powerlevelling.

I'll joke about being a lv.7 fighter needing a powerlevel but aside from that I dont powerlevel anyone.

I'll party with people who can put in what they get out.

I'll party with people who are lower levelled if they need help on an obstacle they clearly cant do themselves: Goblin King, Robo, Marlone, Mara, Ghost Slime.

Aside from that all the other people who try and force a party for powerlevelling purposes I ignore.

Many of them try and kill steal, and they are met with a firm warning, then-after - if they persist, they are given 5 or 6 "unfriendly" monsters to deal with.

Ralath 01-27-2008 09:02 AM

I admit it--I've gotten plvled on my alt farmer cleric in Uruga and AEW. But only for 3 lvls--from lvl 3 to lvl 6. XD.

But I spam my lvl 1 Heal that heals for 110 damage non-stop on the tanker and I even farm herbs and mushrooms for them. :3

There's was this one guy who was lvl 19 cleric who was the party leader and there were 3 other 35+ (2 archers and another cleric) and he would TAKE ALL THE DROPS and would keep "secretly" changing it back to free allocation after we told him to set it to sequential and he picked up all the drops and would not heal anybody. That's not to mention the fact that he was incredibly insulting...

I had to bribe the other 30+ cleric a silver not to rez him after he got 2-shotted by a fire vivi.

;OOO Stole the words out of my mouth!

When people come to you, they don't appreciate your help ...
They either complain you're doing a bad job, or that they need MORE help when you've already dedicated time to helping them, or that they never talk to you again unless they want more from you ...

Just because I helped you once doesn't mean I'll help you all the time, especially if you're rude.

Great minds think alike <33333 xD

Hessah 01-27-2008 09:56 AM

i really dont mind if they never talk to me again... HAHAHA i would love it if they delete me off their list XD

Enraya 01-27-2008 10:09 AM

No, I meant like they didn't talk to you until they had an issue or wanted more help >___>"
And that's all they ever ask for ...

Gekkido 01-27-2008 06:33 PM

I kind of agree with you all. I'm the kind of person that will get bored and take my lvl 4X fighter to FoM and drag a group of people that are a couple of lvls away from 20 and go to MT to get them to 20. Normally I never got bothered after that.

Recently I helped someone out. Two days later they wanted me to power lvl them. They even went as far as to threaten to report me to a GM. Personally... I just kind of laughed and said "Go ahead. Report me." Befor I take every group I help out to MT.. I usually say this "I am not allways this bored and am doing other things to help my character progress. so I am not allways available." I guess being too nice has some things that are a disadvantage.. ;_;

You sound awfully cynical. I've been power leveled a few times before, and I still know what all of my skills do.

Once, I was wandering around near the Elderine gate in CP because I was bored. I wasn't a high enough level (28?) to fight anything there, and a fighter (40) was soloing mobs in front of me. I started talking to her, and we partied. Even with my aim scroll, I only hit ~60% of the time, but my contribution was pulling mobs one at a time. I think I gained about a third of a level before I had to go, and that was that.

Belaslav 01-28-2008 02:15 AM

It all depends really. Today I was at Echo Cave mining copper, and this lvl 16 mage tagged along, we mined copper together, he helped me kill Archmage books, so I've powerleveled him probably like 90 % of his exp needs, and he never insulted me, and didn't try to steal my ores.

In conclusion, some people are total noobs for life, and some are intelligent. I blame the parents.:D

I don't mean this to you because i can't make any assumption on how good u r or not. BUT from knowing what a skill does to knowing how to us it is kinda of a big step =).

Nope what you should do is Go to Mt and go fight king slime (( dont worry about it )) then you quickly send in the guy ya dont like then kick him from party then you run like hell so kingy dont attack you but make sure you dont attack or aggro auto matically goes to you and then you die ^^
