Wow! So I got banned because my cousin bought silver with MY credit card!
 

The title says it all. I just got the message last night after several unsuccessful attempts to log in. I let my cousin eric play over the past weekend while I went to see my grandma, and he told me that he tried to BUY, yes, B U Y silver! I'm like O M G! POOOF! There goes my lvl. 42 archer....

I'll try to do that. I've already told my aunt about this and he's not coming to my house ANYMORE!! I'm in the process of getting the money back to my paypal account.

They won't give you sympathy, they said they want 1 person per account and its your own fault for letting an untrustworthy person use your account.

But if they unban you... then everyone can just say "oh that wasnt me" and the gold site will still flood our servers....

Sorry to hear about that, but like Hessah said, if they unbanned your account, then everyone could just say that it was someone else using the account. And it has been stated before not to let anyone use your account. But, it still stinks, especially since you didn't do it.

It's not like I knew he was untrustworthy. It's sort of my fault anyway. I used to always rant about me being exceedingly broke, and he told me he bought it as a surprise.

If push comes to shove, then I'll just start over on my laptop and move to Teva, IF I get lucky and get unbanned...

Yosei isn't being mean, she is pointing out facts. As sad as it is, it is probably the truth. They take no sympathy on these matters since everyone is coming down so hard on them about the bots already.

My question is....How did they know?

From what we were told here on these forums, they look at your silver intake. If you had 20 silver yesterday and now you have 520, it flags your account or something and they can look at your account.

I know someone who HAS to be a gold buyer <.< Its just too unlikely that he saved up that money.

Maybe the gold site was a trap set up by Outspark? Meh.. I doubt it. They could get in trouble for that I'm sure.
Yeah.. but I think thats wrong(banning for money in-take). I once asked Steam this.. how do they know we're getting money from a bot. Maybe one of our friends quit and gave us all of their stuff.

Well, I've talked with GM Kaalan in the past ( during CB and such ). Apparently, the GMs have the "ability" to record all chat logs during the the game, even when you've logged out. All chats are saved, and my cousin told me that he talked to this dude ( I'm pretty sure it was a bot ) and that's how he started the process of gettin the silver. Oh boy, I'm still SOOO pissed...

Bah, that really sucks, Kitager. I'd say to try whatever you can, but just don't have high hopes for it. I mean, it doesn't really help if you just give up now since that will certainly result in no chance of getting it back, but... just do whatever you can (although that doesn't mean you should harass the GMs non stop for it, LOL).

Dang, that sucks man. There's probably practically zero chance of getting your old account back, but if you just want to play and don't mind starting over then you just need a new IP address for a new account right?

Call your ISP and request a change or find out when your lease expires/renews and unplug your modem sometime before it expires and wait at least an hour or more and your old IP will probably be passed on to someone else and you'll be assigned a new IP next time your modem checks in. I think that still works anyway.

That really sucks Kitager. If you do move to Teva, Apoline will miss you!

But I guess just take better care of your credit card/paypal account? I would be horrified if anyone other than my parents used my credit card and then my parents better have had a pretty darn good reason.
