Why archers (and others) are really missing out...
So I finally got to play on Bright Kingdom and... damn it the Archers are really missing out!!
First off... since the latest patch the bow has an attack rate of 0.9 seconds (I haven't been able to see the crossbows). That itself helps to kill mobs before it reaches you. Next, Power and Aim Shots. Recast is 8 and 5 seconds (respectively) and the SP consumption too is lower. Fury Impact which causes poison damage in our version causes the enemy to be unable to move or attack for 2 seconds (max on duration is 5 seconds). We get this skill at 15. Now the stats... I've gone a 2:1 STR:DEX build and... I have twice as much evasion as I have defense which is what it should be like for Archers. We're supposed to dodge attacks and I'm doing it very well. Apparently for the Mages their Lightning or Ice stuns. I'm guessing Lightning but don't know for sure. Clerics get that HP buff (though small) at level 15. I know Fiesta has only been out for a short period compared to BK but... the skills!! You can at least implement the right skills with the said effects. :/ Just had to get it out there... I might even quit my current character for this. >P Did I also mention we have a wide range of character customization at the start? Wahhh!! Why are we missing out so much!! I want archers to get the good skills too because my duo partner is an archer!! This is not fair!!! -insert more exclamation marks-
And cool! HP/SP buff at 15. Even though it's small, it's better than nothing! I get to feel useful at level 15! |

Aaaand Crossbow attack speed is 1.2... which is a little slower than our current Bow speed by 0.1. O.o

BK is free to play too with a Cash Shop. :/
EDIT: And the only bad thing about this is that... you level too fast to keep up with the quests and skills. |
Loveless, BK went from 23 hour download, to 65 hours, to 5 minutes. XD

It's something you get when you first start. I guess it's to help new players along and keep them in-game... as well as giving you a taste of the Cash Shop items. Because of stats it gives people will want to buy from the Cash Shop thus increasing their income.
Most MMOs in Japan release cash cards so players who don't have credit cards can still buy it, type in the code and get the cash amount. Others have specials maps for Internet Cafe users... with increase exp and maps (Maple Story in Japan). |
Yeah, mage lightning stuns. And anyone who plays a mage on outspark fiesta will cry when they see what the skill cooldowns are like for Bright Kingdom and Shine Online... (they're about 1/3rd as long to cooldown in general)

i knew it.... the jump from fire bolt can't be that much from 5 secs to 15sec.
although i'm have not played other classes b4, the case of fire bolt cooldown time already affects greatly how mages level. The long cooldown time now forces mages to party, in an indirect way because its impractical to shroom every now and then. Seriously if the game developers created mages to be tissue papers then the GMs should compensate by setting lower cooldowns on skills. |
5/8 second cooldown ... SP decrease ... faster attack ... >_____________> Even the cooldown or fast attack alone would help soloing very much. There's so much that's missing in FO that is present in BK. D= |

I want the less cooldown. It kills me having to spam MM1 while waiting on my more powerful skills to cooldown.

I had to reinstall, so I'm leaving it to download while I'm at school. I really suggest starting the download before some of your next classes, because it can take 2~4 hours. |
ummm.... it is in a foreign language. That is kinda a negative thing for me. I like to be able to understand what I am lookig at.

A question: how old is Bright Kingdom?
I ask because if Fiesta = a younger BK then that means BK= Fiesta's future. That's the general trend of games that get imported like this. The company that runs the imported version, instead of making things themselves, pull, a piece at a time, from the older versions. They never really catch up, but in time, everything in the older version gets into the newer version. It was the case of Ragnarok Online. In time, everyone kept watch over the korean version, which is the original and knew what changes were comming to the english version. When we saw Transcendent classes, gunslinger, and those imfamous monster location changes, we knew it would come to us in due time. If BK and Fiesta are similar in that reguard, it'll be the same story. We aren't missing out: We're just going along the same path they are. In time, we'll have the same things they do (I believe even those skills that were lost in closed beta but are in BK). Remember that Outspark doesn't write the game: they just pick up the patches from places like BK. |
I don't think we really need to complain. There are going to be many bugs and inaccuracies as the game is transferred.
Rather, I try to enjoy it. I laugh at the awkward use of the English language whenever I accept a new quest. Besides which, we're all on a level playing field. BK might as well be a different game because there's no direct interaction between Fiesta characters and BK's. So if you've already made it this far in Fiesta, might as well just enjoy the ride. |
shouldnt we have seen this coming? i mean in every mmorpg i've played, the us version always seems to be the half ass version of the korean or japanese version.

It's obvious that all the things will come in due time. I used to be a long time player of Maple Story... and I played both the English and Japanese ones. Now, 4th jobs are coming to the English version when I believe it was in its testing stage just a year or so ago.
The reason why I say we're missing out? If it is the case that Outspark just gets the patches and whatnot... we should've gotten those skills already cause they have been around for a good amount of time. :/ The attack rate and cooldowns, I believe, were just recently implemented too. And why have I decided to start on BK when my Archer on Fiesta is 2 levels away from 60? Simply put I can't even solo efficiently enough nor am I able to enjoy the game as much as I used to. BK is empty. It's half or even less the population of Fiesta... also the time difference but I hardly lag even connecting from half way across the world. I've just made 100s overnight selling 7 return scrolls (15s each) and I'm level 20. Of course the items the players sell are in golds. O.o |
I say we all convert and make an english guild lol, called EnglishPl0x.

I'm not sure the max allowed... but you can always make EnglishPl0x2. :P
... guild costs 500s btw. >.> But at least it keeps the numbers of guilds running around lowered. |

I wouldn't mind the cool down so much if I didn't have to sit down after every one or two monsters... I am decreasing sp consumption every chance I get and at lvl 25 I have @1200 sp... but still. I think the skills take too much sp considering. I love the dress and the braids in the pics on the first page :)

I can be a translator... I suppose. :/ But I'll have to keep at it and make sure I'm always one step ahead of the rest. O.o Or refer to JWiki for answers which is a bit old and doesn't have recent updates.
The thing you don't have to worry too much about is people randomly talking to you. Must be a Japanese thing but they usually keep to themselves and friends they already know... I rarely see shouts go up in Elderine even (maybe Uruga since a lot are higher leveled). Most of the shouts are asking people to join KQ. The KQ in BK is actually interesting. They have about 5 Slime KQ and no body joins... or it's 2-3 people at most. I recently did one with 5 people and we died at the Slime cause there were no fighters... :P (Slime King had Fear?? Or I saw some weird graphics) There's also a KQ for levels 10-19 and it's a PvP. You have to find something called the Potion of Courage from ores... and then after that timer runs out everyone else is your enemy. The other KQs only come once every 2 hours or something... and there's only one instance. EDIT: They also have this feature where you can enter your mushroom house... and an early quest that gives you furniture to go with it... but the second part asks me to go to Uruga's furniture shop. This is given at level 10 or below... D: |
Bah.. I knew this game was more fun than Outspark gives us ;p You can tell it has so much potential.
