Apparently this patch contains Xtrap in it.

Prolly won't get rid of all, but will get rid of some, and thats still good lol.

Without seeming dumb, what is Xtrap?

Kind of like an anti-botting program, and prevents hacking.

okay, let me really show my dumb side now. How does it know if it is a bot or not? Don't they use regular IP addresses to log in?

Hey, you edited your other post. :p That makes more sense. I am not too familiar with hacking and all that, but I see how it could be effective. Because bots use some type of thrid-party "thingy" like macros or something. So, I guess the program can detect that.

Well since this isn't the actual fiesta site, i'll breakdown Xtrap for ya.

Basically, the xtrap company compiles information from all sorts of games....as in what programs are used to hack what games ect ect ect

What it does is randomly while you are playing the game it will scan through your process list and also check the information the game and you are talking about.

If it detect's a "BAD" process, it will shutdown the game.

Meaning.... you open Cheat Engine while playing fiesta...BOOM your DCed

Now...bots are currently using macro scripts...i'm not sure how well this is going to handle them. Spammers as well use macro scripts. So we'll see what kinda options Fiesta choose when they picked xtrap and we'll see how tight their security really is.

If you have a problem with xtrap and fiesta and you are NOT hacking or have illegal programs, let me know I'll do my best to help ya out.

Well, it IS being used now in the game, because I tried to run the game and an X-trap icon popped up. For some reason it disconnects me from AOL. I don't use AOL, but my mom does. The AOL icon always shows as online, but after the patch download, it says I'm disconnected from AOL.

when I try to log on now it says 'disconnected from server' Ive never used a hacking software in my life.

Well the servers are still down o.o

I have a X-trap icon with my msn and sound icons down on my screen. But they're saying there are still bots.

Sounds like a sensitive program =/

This xtrap software has really pissed me off. Good it stops bots, but now I cannot play as well...

I run windows 2003, and the outspark launcher has problems with Windows 2003. It cannot patch itself properly under the windows 2003 operating environment, thus I'm forced to use windows compatability mode to emulate windows XP operating conditions.

Now with this piece of sh*t (excuse the language - as I'm frustrated with cash shop items going to waste), I can no longer play.

I've lost faith in outspark completely. The bots will find a way to bypass this software, while I - having done nothing wrong, cannot even play and money I spent is going to waste.

You can always count on those asses to screw up each patch (First the fighter skills, now this.)

I wonder if theres a way to get rid of X-trap. I'm sure its against ToS though.

You also missed a part. Not only do they have a compiled list of "cheat engines" used in most games, they protect most of the games memory from being editted by an outside process, and autoclose (and report if the game pays for it).

There is. And it is against the ToS.

Hm... it seems to be working, for now. Some bots came on, and now they're gone.

hmm sounds like an annoying thing...

if it scans ur whole computer... will it take up resources and slow down the comp like other virus/adware scanning programs?

as it is.. Fiesta is a resource killer....

The only thing slower for me is the loading screens D: they all take forever.

lol the last thing you need is slower load times, but on topic, wth i'm not gonna let some game company scan my whole comp just to find nothing there and not let me play anywayz.....I think this whole x-trap things is retarded

Seriously, this is major bull. Oh, great, now the unhackable game is even more protected! Hoorah! I was looking forward to this, but I can already see how much it'll fail...

If this interferes with me getting marathon titles (d/cing because of too much memory used), I'm going to be seriously pissed.

The best part is that this will most likely never be taken out. I've never heard of other games taking it out. (Yes, I know it was gone from CB2 til now.)


I have an idea. How about starting to do IP bans?

LOL Xtrap wont stop bots. Infact it'll prolly bring more bots to Fiesta since Xtrap is prolly the easiest anti hack system to bypass. GameGuard is better but is 10x harder on your computers resources but will kinda slow the bots down. Xtrap shouldnt effect your load times it will simply boot up when you first start Fiesta and run as a bg task.

Yeh, but those hackers are tricky. they'll find a way round it, just like they found a way to hack into blue-ray disks

It's that bad? I haven't switch maps yet so I don't know if I'm having any problems. For the most part, seems fine or at least tolerable by my standards. o-o'

Honestly, i haven't ever experienced these long load times, before and after Xtrap.

I must try some of these long loading times, they seem exquisite!

xtrap did nothing. bots were still flooding everywhere until gm's came in and killed them. you can still use a program like autoIT to simulate mouse movement and keystrokes like you were at your computer, i dont see how xtrap did anything except cause trouble. they just need to employ somebody to kick/ban everybody that flood/spams websites. -_- since they refuse to take my advice and add spam websites to the swear filter.

So what will they do now, with xtrap gone?

Wonder why no one is playing untill they reopen the servers.

They took XTrap off because of some problems, like people with joysticks couldn't play with it. Also alot of complaints about people can't log in with the computers they have, but it has all changed now.
