Other Features

1. Skills
There are many different skills to choose from, unlike other games. Skills here also include those combat skills which are spells-liked so take note. Fighter - 20 skills, Cleric - 24 skills, Archer - 20 skills, Mage - 24 skills. This means that even if you're the same job as another, you might need to work together as you specialize at different skills. You get 3 skill points to spend every 5 levels.

2. "Forging"
You may forge "scrolls", "potions" and "gems" by mixing multiple monster drops together. You have to learn the skills to forge them and have to be at least level 5. For example, making HP and MP potions.

3. Equips Upgrade
From the trailers you may see the weapons are glowing in many colours but no weapon starts like that. Weapons bought start at level 1 and can upgrade all the way to level 9, while any level player can upgrade their weapon. Upgrades happen with the "blacksmith" NPC that will open an upgrade window. To upgrade, place the weapon at the centre of the 8 pointed stars, and the item you want to forge into the weapon at any point of the star. If the "roulette" lands on your item, forging is successful, which is lower or 12.5% chance. Failure when your weapon is above level 3 might have negative effects.

4. "Seals"
You may forge "seals" into your weapon to increase the stats. Seals can be bought from NPCs or rarely dropped by monsters. For example the "ratmen seal" dropped by "ratmen" increases your weapon's STR by 15%. Different seals give different stats and the seals can be switched from time to time.

5. Pets
Pets follow you and increase your stats but in this game, there is also riding pets. The donkeys fall into this category. They can be owned by any class and increases the speed stats.

6. "Accessories"
There are rings, earrings and necklaces to wear n they increase stats. Have specific level requirements like equips. Looks nice as well.

7. Houses
Houses are places where the player is safe and recovers faster. It is affirmed that you can use it as a shop and trade in it. Starter houses comes in the red or blue mushrooms but you may upgrade them in to more fancy looking houses, such as pumpkins, teapots or even castles.
***However, the requirements are that you're at least level 50.*** (sucks, I know.)

8. Job advancements
Any class can advance their jobs once by level 20 and another by level 60. At any job advancement there is 2 advanced jobs for you to choose from.

9. "Fame"
Fame allows players to take higher quests from NPCs and buy special items that will cost more if the player is short on fame. The "mentor-apprentice" system and PvP are ways to accumulate fame.

10. Guild (fellow Brethrens take note)
To start a guild, one needs to be at least level 20 and have a "Gold Coin". With that, a NPC will let you start the guild. In the guild there's the "Guild Leader", "2nd in-command" and "Elder" posts, with "Elites Division Members". The rest are divided into divisions, each with a "Division Captain", and normal members without divisions.

Screenshots

Screenshots can be found in Jim Jimster's thread in the official site. I didn't put them all here because it would stretch the post and there's A LOT of them.

The guild titles and the forge thing sound interesting to me.

Rightclaw 06-20-2007 01:46 AM

Nice find :O

Luvable 06-20-2007 02:07 AM

Wow the guild system is probably by far the most organized system concerning ranks I've seen in a free game

Blaaaaaaaah 06-20-2007 02:16 AM

Added basic features to first post.

The guild division thing reminds me of Bleach, lol. Sounds really complicated.

Kris 06-20-2007 02:29 AM

Nice stuff.
Regarding your class skills posts, you could use this : Fighter - Cleric - Archer - Mage. Skills pictures and some skills you didn't mention from the Japanese website.

Thanks I'll add that in~! I don't know how to read Japanese so I didn't really look around in their site to find the skills in English! =D

Edit: Did you translate that via Google?

Edit again: Oh wait nvm, the others took a while to turn into English. xD

Kris 06-20-2007 02:34 AM

Gotta love Google translator. :D
Edited the Cleric, Archer and Mage links, they didn't work properly.

Blaaaaaaaah 06-20-2007 02:48 AM

Thanks Kris. I just changed them as well.

I also added a link to a whole heap of screenshots.

MrLag 06-20-2007 04:45 AM

Dude, How awesome is that...We get ride pets, I want to ride a monkey.

Rightclaw 06-20-2007 10:08 AM

I wanna ride a pet pony :3

chinhchinh 06-20-2007 10:12 AM

Btw, you should upload your clips on filefront, you can both download and watch them on the website directly. <3

Tekku 06-20-2007 01:36 PM

Sweet guide :0, now this game seems soo complicated to me lolz =P

._.;

Blaaaaaaaah 06-20-2007 01:44 PM

LOL I'm worried about that too. With all the different features.. I have a feeling I'm going to be confused all the way until I get my second job or something.

valheart 06-20-2007 02:59 PM

cool, I see you guys posted all of Links stuff up here.
We are all also making guides during the CB, but I think they're going to be Guild Exclusive at first, I'm not sure when we are going to release them to the public, but other people might make threads for the public, so... whatever happens :)

phone30 06-20-2007 03:58 PM

umm just one question if u get to lvl 20 or 60 where do u go to do the quest so u can get a job advance?

valheart 06-20-2007 06:31 PM

@phone30: No clue, I don't know if there is a quest or not, probably is though.

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 02:39 AM

Interesting, I just read that you choose your class right at the beginning when you create your character, so you don't actually get to decide in game after having a look around. D:

No job change? ._.

There is but it's just the change of a different title and more skills I think. No biggie. You just don't get choices yet like FlyFF... actually I'm not sure but I guess those who are playing now can confirm it for us. xD

Tekku 06-21-2007 09:38 AM

So...when you reach 20 and 60 your job changes auto? xD thats a bit too easy lolz x)

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 10:12 AM

No, not auto, you still do a quest, but the quest will only change the title of your job and allows you to get more skills or something, maybe. I'm pretty sure you still do a quest.

What I said that won't happen (I think) is that we don't get two different choices into what type of job we want.

Tekku 06-21-2007 10:14 AM

:0 ohh lol i dont mind not being able to chose a job xD i guess it depends on the character build instead =p

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 10:16 AM

Heh I guess so, just makes it more interesting if we get a choice xD More variety. But I read someone they might be implementing that later or something as a 4th class.

Tekku 06-21-2007 10:31 AM

Well since this game is hardcore grinding...its gona be hard lol...

Offtopc -

Blaah you lurking the forums? lol coz your not in active user list >.>

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 10:32 AM

Are you serious? You have to grind a lot a lot a lot? ;~;

I'm in invisible mode.

Rightclaw 06-21-2007 10:33 AM

I think you do have to grind alot ;_; I'm only lvl3

Tekku 06-21-2007 10:34 AM

Well i heard ItsWind grinded 6 n 1/2 hours to get to lvl 14 =.=' so...1 hour 2 levels? lol...

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 10:34 AM

Oh god... I probably won't even reach level 60 before dying of boredom from grinding. Dx Well I read that there's a lot of quests soooo.... maybe that helps a bit or something? >_<"

Edit: Wahh just read Tekku's post. Meh.

Rightclaw, would you say FlyFF or Fiesta is easier? Just so I can have some kind of a comparison.

FlyFF LOL. It would take me about 2 minutes to get to lvl3 in Flyff. It took me about 20 minutes here :x BUT I think there is some hope.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Gawd. I died trying to level my noobs in FlyFF to 50... and it's even harder in Fiesta? T.T I hope enough people will complain about it and they'd change it xD You don't delevel, right? Seeing the changes in version 8 of FlyFF makes me wonder about what other mmorpgs are going to do...

Well the grind here is way funner, and another things that makes the grind slower is the people. I got KS'd at least 10 times. Spawns are basically full x__x So yeah it should get a bit better in time. It's definitely not as boring as the grind in flyff because you actually have skills at the beginning.

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 10:45 AM

Ohh. How is it "funner"? - Tries imagining grinding to be fun but fails -

Rightclaw 06-21-2007 10:46 AM

Basically just cause you can use skills xD

Meh...but I think it will get better in time. I might be a terrible lvler x-x.

Tekku 06-21-2007 10:47 AM

And getting Ks'd? ........damn i think im gona quit my download right now...one thing i hate about is grinding xD specially if it takes hours just to lvl 1 level -.-"

Rightclaw 06-21-2007 10:48 AM

Try it. It's still fun for me o.O

chinhchinh 06-21-2007 10:48 AM

My friend got to lvl 11 in two hours. o.o Maybe three.

Blaaaaaaaah 06-21-2007 10:49 AM

Lol Tekku, everyone's dying (kind of) for an invite to CB. You should just try it out.

Rightclaw 06-21-2007 10:50 AM

Okay. I'm just a terrible grinder then. D;
