How do i get rid of the snow effect?
 

Hi. Does anyone know how i can get rid of the snow effect?... I'm really lagging, and this snow will continue on for 30 days :(

I know how to remove the snow:

Go to the following folder:
...\Outspark\Fiesta\reseffect

and remove the ChristmasSnow.nif file from it
I suggest you back it up should you want it back afterwards

I don't see why you shouldn't. If you lag because of some grafical update, you should at least be able to shut it off.
If you change files for macro issues, ok but otherwise I don't see a problem.


It states you shouldn't modify files, what you do is just (re)move a file. But if you want to be certain ask a GM before doing so.

Thats still modifying the files...becasue then it isnt as Outpsark intended the game to be.

Everyone is lagging now, I hope they get a new patch up. Or well you can always roll back to a previous patch that doesnt have the snow...but you wont have the beauty shop either. (Not sure if you can roll back...)

Hasnt made me laggy, i just think its kinda annoying its not nice snow its quite low quality lol

Hey thanks! Actually I'm not lagging anymore. I think i lagged before because my computer was stuffed up at that time or something.

Anyways, removing a file from my computer shouldn't affect the online game community overall. Thanks for the tip!! Really appreciate it.

By the way: I think the reason they put that rule in is because they fear that there will be private servers created. I'm simply removing a single file, i'm not breaking anything down or trying to decipher it, so it should be alright i reckon. How are they supose to check anyway... It's not like they bugged our PCs to see if we removed or modified a file.
