A Rant, hosted by Tranny.

Ok Rant time.

About people selling crap in CB.

Stop being greedy.
WTF.

It's closed beta. Stop trying to overcharge people for crap.
Stop making your prices fixed at high prices.
It's CB, you REALLY shouldn't be worrying about making 78152157093 gold. Sure, it's ok to make enough for what you need, but trying to get all that money and crap just wastes TEST time.
You're supposed to be testing the game, finding glitches and critical errors and the like, not a race to riches.
For fucks sake, why do people find it necessary?
I was giving away green names I didn't need, elrues and lixs (blessed and lucky included), pots, and even money. The only time I sold crap was when I needed to buy my lvl 30 eqs, even then I sold everything CHEAP.
If you want to make money and rip people off, go play the fuxxing stock market.

/end pathetic rant.

Well since the game has started not long ago, it could be because people don't know how much their items are worth, so they naturally put a bit of a "higher price" than they thought in case they rip themselves off. Of course, I can't guarantee that's what everyone who's selling overpriced things were thinking.

BUT if the prices continue to go up after the economy has settled, though, then I would rant too.

FlyingSnow 07-07-2007 02:26 AM

welll....all i can say is that Tranny smells...AND they should honestly let me type in Jesus or Christ in the chat...like God, Zeus, Satan, Allah, Moses, Budda and the whatnots all work but....Jesus and Christ are blocked...even Chr1st is blocked...:D

Synelia 07-07-2007 11:18 AM

I have never been good in economies in games. They change so much and I just give up. It might be because (only people who played on this specific server understand) on FlyFF the Aibatt server, the inflation is just unbelieveable and thats where I stopped trying to keep up with the economy. I ask people how much I should sell for XD

rokaraged 07-07-2007 04:15 PM

I love using the economy to my advantage, its so easy to use its just requires patience.

1.Just amass alot of goods that are in demand (or probably will be I.e.2nd or 3rd tier scroll materials) early in the game.
2. Wait for prices to slowly increase, due to demand increases, rarity, inflation, scammers etc...
3. Sell

I usually do this whenever i decide to take a long break from whatever game.

You can't call me a greedy jerk if i just wait on "investments" can you? :D

scammers and economy changes are inevitable, especially in real life. Just try to do what you can really and make some money on it later. A rant like this will not stop people from being greedy bastards. Inflation can be a bitch, Its best we all find ways ways to deal with a constantly changing economy some way or another

I'm not ranting about inflation and I'm not trying to stop anyone.

I'm ranting about how people are stingy and arrogant in a closed beta test.

FlyingSnow 07-07-2007 06:16 PM

well we can always kick them out >_<

+Tequila+ 07-07-2007 07:05 PM

I think that once people start actually making money with things bein the way they are now it can be quite painful to make a good bit of silver at the lower lvls..the inflation will be less an economy will be better..the only thing I'd worry about is people scammin for cash shop items which i hope Outspark makes them unsellable/tradeable  but meh thats just wishful thinking.

rokaraged 07-07-2007 07:33 PM

The 3x drop rate weekend isn't going to help stabalize the economy anytime soon.

And Niion i was just explaining how to take advantage of a situation. Since above posters seemed to have economic trouble with mmos.

And theres nothing wrong with being stingy really its just caution, scamming is different.

A good way to kill alot of scamming is to make an (OH MY GOD I'M A GENIOUS) auction house. People can atleast see and compare prices to other more "honest" sellers.

quite right 3x drop rates only farther cause the economy to go down the tubes since people get random drops an say -OMG- lets go vend at ridiciously high prices! Also the economy will be wierd unless you are selling weapons/armors since most people can make scrolls pots or stones themselves or jus have a friend do it for them. If high prices on scrolls etc are causing you problems just farm the mats and make them. Also remember those prices were only in CB2.

Hehe also in favor of a auction house it would cut down on the lag caused by afk sellers and kill off potential scammers.

Hellz ya XD!

AndyB 07-08-2007 12:15 AM

I'm cheap ;D

Been selling tier 2 elrues for less than it costs in mats to make them.

Revy 07-08-2007 12:42 AM

The general cause for inflation is that the amout of money flowing from "nowhere" into the economy (ex.: quest rewards, items sold to NPCs) is higher than the money flowing out from the economy (buying items from NPCs). This causes that the people generally posess more money, so they'll be willing to pay more when the sellers are trying to increase prices.

However, except that after the first big inflation, the prices will get stabilized, and the inflation will be very little. The economic system is good; most of the drops can be sold to other players for better price than you could get from NPC, while the players will keep spending money on stones and upgrading weapons. When this system really is set into motion (people with tier3/4 production skills are present to buy HQ materials), the inflation will cease.

Anyway, i believe that an economy is good when the prices are relatively high - when everyone can afford the basic items from NPCs, but things like item+5s or Unique items are very rare, and actually posess high value.

Vash 07-08-2007 01:09 AM

I see elrue more than the NPC. Which makes me laugh all the time.

Synelia 07-10-2007 01:41 AM

as a noob most people are pinching their pockets because of hp stones and sp stones. I know I did. It was a hassle, but I finally was able to get more money and to use it on more than sp and hp stones, skills! :D ._. but after being a noob the money you can collect is easy and simple.

I am cheap. I sell things at my own price, if no one buys it, I lower it. And if I get below NPC price I say to myself "well I got it for free, no matter how much it sells for I'll make money" so I don't inflat, or I hope i don't o.o!

Whudafux 07-10-2007 02:01 AM

In Korean FlyFF, my level 13 Cleric has 10 Silver.. And I find a ton of potions from monsters that I kill. Potions meaning the ones that give 250 HP / 230 SP. Were those implemented into CB? Or no? Because I don't see what's so hard about money in the lower levels.. :3

Lmao! Too my FlyFF for yooO Whudafux! But I reckon 10 silver is a whole lot for a level 13. o_O I never made that much money that early on, especially when it's a first character. Even so, my cleric that I created later didn't get 10 silver at level 13.

+Tequila+ 07-10-2007 03:18 AM

I made 10 silver by lvl 10-12 but then I dont waste time vending I just npc everything I get if i dont want it i npc it lol.

sparky 07-10-2007 03:50 AM

wow..when i played beta flyff it was all penya...no copper or silver or anything o.o
korean flyff must be very different o.o on another note, kFiesta is back up :o

+Tequila+ 07-10-2007 10:37 AM

lol yea he just made a mistake is all :D but anywhoo Flyff sucks :p

Stryfe 07-10-2007 06:24 PM

Those who know me know that I usually give away my items when someone else needs it. Scrolls, Materials, Equipment, etc. I'm not as broke as i thought I'd be because they tend to help me out when I need certain stuff as well. As for selling, I rarely do because I'm usually trying to purchase something.

When I do sell stuff, I usually follow the current market price. The only exception is certain items that aren't currently in the "Market". For example, a +5Lv20 2-Hand Sword with licenses on it that I used, I usually overcharge when in sale, and sell it for cheap to someone who actually needs it.

Synelia 07-10-2007 11:42 PM

Well thats what I like about this game. The weapons are so "personal" I guess you would say. Because someone could have a different license on the same weapon and depending on the status of that weapon it could be worth more. So the economy is based on a few people, which in that case is bad and now i'm confusing myself @.@
