D:< grr

So today I went to the store. My mom had me run in real quick cuz it was her lunch break, but my niece wanted to come in with me, so she came in too.

When I was checking out, some lady walked up to me and was like "Why aren't you in school???" like she was my mother or something. I, confused, replied, "Um.. I'm out of school." Then she was stated, "No you're not! Its not early release or a holiday. What are you doing out of school?" I then told her, "No... I graduated. I'm no longer in school..", Then she saw my niece. "Well why isn't she in school???", I then told her my niece was too little. She then told me "No she isn't, she doesn't look like it!". My niece is big for her size, shes 4 years old, but wears a size 6, and looks 6. I then explained that to the lady. All she said was "Oh." and walked off.

Sheesh <.< I don't know whether to feel complemented or insulted. But she sure was rude, and a little too into my business.

Spirit 12-10-2007 06:08 PM

Okay, I would have looked at her and said, "Just who the hell are you?"
She was very rude. It is none of her business. I wouldn't have explained anything to her like you did. You must be a lot nicer than me. :D

.o0O0O0o. 12-10-2007 06:12 PM

LoL... Yosei you're too nice!

Yosei 12-10-2007 06:13 PM

I don't pick confrontations in public. But yeah.. it was none of her business. She reminded me of my old neighbor. She used to always come up to my door and start screaming at me over the pettiest things, like letting my nephews play in my front yard. She once called the cops on me lol. That lady I did not hesitate to yell back at.

Pritcher 12-10-2007 06:16 PM

Yes, you're nicer than I. I'd have just pulled one of those mean faces that people tell me I make and told her to mind her own business.

Zwivix 12-10-2007 06:42 PM

Aww poor Yosei,

I agree you needed to tell that lady off. But maybe thats not your style...

Yosei 12-10-2007 06:44 PM

I was at the grocery store, buying bread o.O

Zwivix 12-10-2007 06:46 PM

Then hit her with the bread and push her on the floor. Then turn your niece away and beat her up.

Well thats what I would have done ^^

Yosei 12-10-2007 06:54 PM

Suuuure you would have.

Valentines 12-10-2007 06:58 PM

I would of done the nod and pretend to agree thing.

Esen 12-10-2007 07:32 PM

o.O Wow, I'm glad I have yet to run into any of those kind of people. I probably would've done the same thing as Yosei or just stare at her like she just spoke gibberish to me because I wouldn't expect a stranger to come up to me out of the blue like that.

Yosei 12-10-2007 07:38 PM

I ran into a lot of people like that where I used to live. One guy once told me I looked "mature" for a 9 year old. I was 15 at the time D:

O-mie 12-10-2007 07:48 PM

"Know your information before you make a further fool of yourself."

Pritcher 12-10-2007 07:51 PM

"It's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

Yosei 12-10-2007 07:54 PM

I disagree with Pritchers statement lol.

Pritcher 12-10-2007 07:59 PM

Not my statement, I think old Abe Lincoln said that, but I'm not certain. O-mie's quote just reminded me of it. :p

Yosei 12-10-2007 08:02 PM

Yeah, it sounds familiar, but I disagree with it in this situation. If you don't know the person, you will never see them again, and if they're not bugging you, their business isn't yours.

I'm glad I don't live where you used live then. About a year ago, my eye doctor said, "Wow, you're 18? I thought you were 12." >_> A freshman in badminton the year before was wondering why she never saw me in middle school before (I was wearing my middle school sweatpants) until I told her I was a junior. A friend of mine also often comments how I like so cute and young that it kills me now. Dx I wonder if my hair cut fixed that...

I personally agree with Pritcher's quote. xD
Edit: Yeah, it doesn't really fit in that kind of situation.

LOL! thats funny! i always get mistake to be younger than my age.. ppl at work ask me "so when do u graduate uni?" and i reply "i graduated two years ago":eek:

why do ppl have to be so rude when they ask a question? and it wasnt like u're at the arcade or something.. u're buying bread!!

I had a similar experience.. but the old man that come up to us was much nicer... he was like "excuse me, but school holidays hasnt started yet right?"

(I was in 1st yr uni and was ice skating with some frds)

so we replied nicely "oh! we're actually uni students" and he did a small laugh and goes "oh! sry hehe"

I was walking to the liquor store and on my way there..this old azn guy thought i was black and starting talking to me and asked me "are you black?" and i answered "no, i'm azn." and he said "yes you are, you are lying, your skin color is so dark, you must be a black guy." and i ignored him and walked away, he followed me. So I kept walking on the street, and i started running, since im crosscountry runner, i have long endurance to keep him away, but...it didn't work, he knows the shortcuts :/..so I ran by a police, and i told him there's an old azn guy following me, then he poped out of no where and i pointed at the old azn guy and said it was him, then the police started questioning him, and he started to act dumb and started speaking mandarin, but i translated it to the police :D and the old azn guy just ran away

Hessah 12-11-2007 01:27 AM

LOL!!!! the best bit! Translated the jibberish LOL!!

Hyper 12-11-2007 01:28 AM

secbro20 12-11-2007 12:14 PM

Yosei, I would have probably done what you did, but then afterwords would have thought it better to tell her off.

But you do not have to get as close with a gun. I am a gun-toting girl myself. I shot to stop and I only pull it out, if I mean to shoot.
"Go ahead, make my day."
