What would you do?

In a situation like this.

My friend invited me to level in CP. It was all going fine until a high level mage offered the tanker 8s worth of SP pots so he can continue taunting the monsters. He did a stupid thing by dropping it on the ground, thinking that the tanker can pick it up. Our party was set to sequential item sharing, and the pots happen to appear in my friend's inventory. The mage then got pissed, not listening to anything we told him and then trained us all.

What to do in this situation? If i try talking to anyone - especially the mage, I would then become the suspect. If I just stood there and said nothing, I too would become the suspect.

What are you supose to do in this situation? What would you do?

Hessah 12-09-2007 11:00 AM

i would dob my friend in.. and tell him to give it back

Fr0Z3nWind 12-09-2007 12:02 PM

get back to my solo leveling xD
or questing if any =P
anyway just try to get ur friend to trade your tanker
when u see a train....
TELEPORT xDD

NotMyWay 12-09-2007 12:11 PM

I would inform a GM, refuse to assosiate with that mage, and kick him from the party. And since he will continue training u I would keep the pots or give them to the tanker, its not like returning them would resolve the issue... of course i prefer peaceful resolutions but like u said it failed...

I'd just laugh and leave and then ask my friend to split the potions with me. :3

^ Exactly! its still in HER inventory.. she didnt pick it up, but she's got it...

taking something that doesnt belong to her is stealing...

Obviously she has asked around going "who's got it who's got it" before the mage trained u guys... its only coz u guys didnt step up to say that u've got the potion that caused all the problem....

O-mie 12-09-2007 09:15 PM

I would have given the potions to the fighter, or whatever. Its just 8 silver. Not exactly hard for a high level to make... lol

Valentines 12-09-2007 09:25 PM

Greed, my friend, greed.

kosherkid 12-09-2007 09:43 PM

Why couldnt the mage just trade it to the person in the first place?

QFT.

Blaaaaaaaah 12-10-2007 03:06 AM

Hold on. I am confused.

What's with all the drama from this misunderstanding? Can't you just simply say "oh I've got it from seq drops, here you go" and just give it to the fighter?

Ah, but people refuse to listen to reason when they get fired up.

Hessah 12-10-2007 03:17 AM

I think its coz his friend wanted to keep the 8k worth of SP Potions.. and not give it to the fighter... so the mage got pissed.. not knowing who had the potions

i got that from him saying "if i say something then i'm a suspect" so he knows that they're doing something wrong...

Pritcher 12-10-2007 03:23 AM

That's why random pickup parties suck. In any decent group of people this would not have been an issue at all.

Hyper 12-10-2007 03:28 AM

"Yay, free potions!"

^o^

I'd have never said that in game...

But if they said "oh I got it and I'll give it back" straight away, I don't see why someone would rage train like that. It takes time to go and find a train, and supposedly it doesn't take that long to type a simple line like that, so supposedly they shouldn't even have enough time to start their raging mode. D:

I mean, if the mage still raged when they said they were going to give it back, then stuff the mage. =/

People are stupid sometimes.

He didn't listen, and decided to train. Either he's extremely conceited, or extremely stubborn and mulish.

Fr0Z3nWind 12-10-2007 03:58 AM

maybe he was having a bad day already?
a little more spark turns into a fire
something like that
MAYBE

Hessah 12-10-2007 04:40 AM

i reckon he missed about 5 mins worth of story there...

I believe it would've gone something like "Our party was set to sequential item sharing, and the pots happen to appear in my friend's inventory.

The fighter claimed that he didnt get the potions, and they started asking who's got the potions, my friend didnt say anything coz she wants to keep the potions, and i didnt say anything in case i look like a suspect

The mage then got pissed, not listening to anything we told him and then trained us all.

I mean... why would he ask "what would you do? if i say something i'll look like a suspect, if i didnt i'll still look like a suspect" suspect for wat?! for taking the potions!

if the mage didnt ask who's got the potion.. what's there to be suspect about?

Fr0Z3nWind 12-10-2007 07:09 AM

is everyone as lost as i am?
the more people try to explain the more confused i get

Xylem 12-10-2007 08:11 AM

Nah you got it wrong Hessah. When the mage realised that the pots weren't on the ground and isn't in the tanker's inventory, he got on his horse. We were all confused and asked him if he's leaving. He then said that someone got the SP pots and my friend said that she got the pots. He then said "You go die now (Friend's name)" and then went to the nearest 3 mobs and trained us. And the mage didn't ask anybody anything, he just said taht somebody got the pots and it wasn't the tanker (because the tanker refused to take it many times, wanting to not waste the mage's pots and go back to town to buy more SP stones).

If he hadn't have done that the pots would have gone straight to the tanker's inventory, or back to his inventory via trade.

I'm just saying, I want to resolve this with the tanker and the mage without being a suspect myself.

This happened all in like 30 seconds. And yea I agree, 8s should nothing at his level.

By the way: You do have a point... She could've offered to give the tanker the pots, but then again, the tanker could've refused the trade. I gotta ask her again.

Hessah 12-10-2007 08:19 AM

ok... sorry...

but.. i still dun understand how that'll make u a suspect?

suspect for wat? being suspected means u might be found guilty of doing something right? if u guys said that ur frd's got the pots... there's nothing to be "guilty" about...?

Xylem 12-10-2007 08:39 AM

Well, as someone said before, she was my friend, and i could be suspected of getting the share of the potions if i talk too much. If I don't talk at all, that'll also put me in the middle.

Anyways, I talked to the tanker and he says that he understands that it was a misunderstanding. However... I feel like he's just saying that to be nice. Didn't want this insignificant event to affect their friendship. We were a great party before this happened though, we lol'd when we died, and we talked about "pooping" out levels and other fun stuff.

Hessah 12-10-2007 08:41 AM

huh? ok i still dont get it... (now i know why everyone else is confused!)

nvm.. and i apologise for accusing you and your friend.... :p

Xylem 12-10-2007 08:43 AM

It's okay. And btw i only thought u were accusing my friend lol. See? You suspected me for posting this post! lol :P There's your answer :P

Hessah 12-10-2007 09:07 AM

LOL but if ur frd is willing to give the potions back i wouldnt suspect her at all..

it was only that i thought u guys wanted to keep the potion... =D
