I just got a notification on my desktop about a free windows 10 upgrade (and no lirange it's not a virus)

Wow I'm excited!! I have only used Windows 8 on random occasions when trying to operate my colleagues' work laptop so I'm still more familiar with 7. If 10 is gonna be a combination of both then it sounds good.

Also why can't Windows count? 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. What happened to 9!?!?!?!

I hate Windows 8.

I also hate the new Microsoft Office but I don't think Windows 10 will improve on that.

Got the new office for free so I can't complain. I quite like it tbh (Maybe because I was still using 2003)

Maybe 9 is unlucky, like how Chinese skip the number 4 on building levels

Esp on PowerPoint, everything takes you into a new menu and stuff. I hate it. It looks and feels like they want you to tap on everything like a tablet, instead of it being optimized for a normal laptop/PC.

is this office 2013 you're talking about?

I got it too! And they're skipping Windows 9 (as a name) because of legacy backward compatibility issues with Windows 95 and 98 or something like that. I think I'll wait a month or so before installing it to see how it works and stuff first.

The theory I heard was that Windows stuffed up 8 so much they need to skip a number to show it's really nothing like 8 xD but your theory makes a lot more sense...

I hate the new Microsoft, especially in Excel, like how the cell select cursor slides through cells instead of just jumping to the next cell like the old one.. make it feel sluggish..

Windows 8 was cool for home computer, but I would be so annoyed with it if I had to use it for work.. Little things like not having a recent document menu is quite annoying...

There are some annoying things with Outlook now too where I can't adjust the size of my to-do's pane.

Ok, I don't know how familiar you are with PowerPoint but in the past, when you wanted to format an object an PowerPoint, you would get a small box that would open up and you would get all the options in front of you.

Now whenever you format a shape, you get all this stupid stuff to the right and you have to click soooo many times to get to what you want.

@Hessah - you know you can turn off the animations in Excel? It's in options somewhere.

Do you guys have to do time sheets at work?? I hate them so much. Especially when you haven't filled it out in like a week.

We have electronic time sheets that are due every week on Sat. It's usually pretty straightforward...

I mean like time tracking.

I used to be really meticulous about tracking my time and allocated hours according to every activity I did. But then I realized most of that stuff didn't really matter so just really started tracking time for like one or two things.

No.. I kinda wished we did so the bosses know how much OT we do...

I use to have to note down what I did every half an hour... because of complicated issues at work..

Total pain the the neck.. I always write it in every 1/2 - 1 hr though, coz I would've forgotten what I did 2 hours ago..

Glad I don't have to do it anymore...

Yeah that's the other thing. We don't get overtime and no one cares so tracking all the extra time doesn't really do anything for us.

yeah I have to track all my time, sometimes even putting 15minutes to one thing. It's mainly for billing and metrics.

The stupid thing for me it wasn't even for billing... it was to PROVE that I really have to spend a certain time for certain tasks...

ugh I just got a new work laptop and the resolution is like 1980x1080 or something like BUT ALL THE TEXT AND STUFF IS SO TINY. I feel like I will go blind. I want to adjust all the text bigger but whenever I change the resolution or make the text bigger, everything just gets fuzzy which also bothers me....
