I hear a lot of folks talking bout photoshop this and that. But that software, if i looked it up right, is like hell of expensive, like $1000s for pro and going down to like $799 or something for amateurs. Are you guys talking bout the same photoshop software or ya'll won the lottery? Please someone point to the right direction. Thanks.

1. You play Fiesta too much because you said $1000s XD
2. Photoshop is indeed expensive
3. Either people download a cracked copy, are rich, or like me get it through the university program I'm in.

I wish i was playing Fiesta too much. I'd have all my 3 characters up in their 50s. It's meant to say thousands

Heh, Photoshop is most likely the single most pirated piece of software in existence. But of course my copy is perfectly legit...

Gimp is free and it's somewhat like photoshop I guess (never tried photoshop because like you said it's expensive) I don't have it on my comp anymore but google it and you can find they're official website and download it for free from there if you wanted to...I don't see a use it spending 1,000 dollars on some photo editing tool when you can find a different one on google for free. >.<

Gimp is overly complicated compared to PS Elements.

I have it nontheless.

I forgot about about Elements. That's a good cheap way to go. It's a stripped down version of Photoshop, but it's only like a hundred bucks. I've tried GIMP too and it's really pretty decent. It's not quite as powerful, but it's comparable to Photoshop CS2 in the things that most people actually use it for.

Never tried GIMP and don't really plan to.

I have PS Elements and Corel Painter Essentials as they came with my tablet, but I already have CS2 so I don't use it. Gave the other program a try though, kind of nifty.

A: Family.

I use Photoshop CS3 Extended ^^ really fun. I also use all of Adobe's other programs lol. I don't really like using GIMP. And if you're wondering why I get all these programs its cuz im studying to become a game developer lol.

Gimp isnt that hard :D Least i dont think so... Learned how to animate things and do a bunch of junk on it.

But i use Gimp (Dang I need to redownload that)
Photomax pro (NOT PHOTOSHOP)
and Paint

Like i use paint for coloring stuff its so simple and the mouse is easier to control on. But then i do it like pixel by pixel. Takes bout 30 min. for a simple coloring iwth a bit of shading.

Lawl, my mom would never spend that much money on me.

How about I have the program and I cant figure it out. I opened it up and thought :eek:. Closed it, and have never clicked that damn icon again.

You can go on the internet, like your now =D, and look for tutorials. They teach you how to make effects and use the different features the program has.

My graphics teacher had to make the majority of the class do some cuz they didn't know anything about photoshop.
