LOLOL

Couldn't find the original thread.. maybe it got wiped..

Yosei 03-22-2013 01:13 AM

Jealous! I want them. I've been trying to build my board game collection xP

Hessah 03-22-2013 01:42 AM

Yeah we were surprised to see them at a game / puzzle shop~

Yosei 03-22-2013 02:31 AM

I see Tsuro in quite a few shops here. Haven't seen Get Bit. I bought Wasabi off of ebay last week, looking forward to playing that.

Hessah 03-22-2013 02:45 AM

Ask the shop assistant.. it's a little box that we wouldn't have found it if we didn't ask.. (And it was put in a separate section to the rest of these "board" games)

Vasu 03-22-2013 04:30 AM

Well, I don't know in which countries this particular store is available, but Target stocks all the games that are shown on Tabletop. It's an excellent show; introduced me to so many board games that I never knew. That whole Youtube channel is full of win, especially "The Guild".

Hessah 03-22-2013 04:36 AM

Our main big chains like Target / Kmart / Myers all have the SAME board games that's been around for 20 years...

Monopoly, guess who, hungry hungry hippos, mouse traps, jenga..

Then the new games they have are angry birds, cut the rope, ninja fruit O_o it's like... WTH...

One day we're going to find candy crush on the shelf...

Ralath 03-22-2013 05:12 AM

I'd buy that lolll

Lirange 03-22-2013 05:48 AM

Why did Ryan win that shark thing? The other guy had cards higher than a 1.

Vasu 03-22-2013 05:58 AM

I guess it's just available in the US then. Anyway, if you want recommendations, I'd definitely say buy Munchkin and/or Dixit next. Very fun games to play, especially if you're with close friends (for Dixit).

Both of them played a 1, so nobody moves, and Wil was behind Ryan, so...

Ralath 03-22-2013 06:16 AM

They had the same cards so they didn't move.

It's a game theory game.

Everyone in the game is motivated to play a higher card but in doing so, they match cards - in when you match cards, you don't move.

This game is basically an extended prisoner's dilemma

I see stuff like that too, like "Word with Friends".... basically Scrabble..?

Our Target carries quite a few of the TableTop games as well. I got Fluxx and Pandemic. We've also bought a few board games they haven't played, like Ascension, Smash Up, and Scrappers.

Hessah 03-22-2013 09:44 AM

Dixit looks hard~

Vasu 03-22-2013 12:54 PM

It's easy to play... but hard to win. But I really enjoy it and Pandemic whenever I get together with my friends. If you're playing with people you know well, you can use your own internal references or jokes to make things that much more interesting.

Hessah 03-22-2013 01:14 PM

I played Taboo.. which in a way is like a simpler version of Dixit..

Where you're given a word that you have to describe, without saying some specific words that's listed.. like Blackboard, and you can't say teacher, classroom, chalk...

Worked well when I played with my hubby coz the word was Carpet and he said "what we installed yesterday!" (we were renovating at the time xD)

Vasu 03-22-2013 03:22 PM

Oh we have Taboo as well. My brother got it for his birthday, we played it a lot.

Ralath 07-23-2013 04:59 AM

omg...

It started the way these things always do, with someone "accidentally stumbling" onto the fact that the Wil Wheaton-hosted Geek & Sundry webseries Tabletop is filmed in the exact same spot as various pornographic movies.

Wet spot, that is.

A Redditor who goes by the classy handle A_Monocle_For_Sauron was the first to point out the "unmistakable similarities" between the Downtown LA set of Wheaton's show and the one used to film a porn scene with award-winning adult actress Samantha Saint.

The couch where Saint and her dude do the nasty appears to be the same mustard "Loser's Couch" Wheaton uses to interview the losers of his celebrity board game tournaments (Jeri Ryan had the dubious honor of being featured in the "comparison shot").

When this matter was pointed out to Wheaton — an avid Redditor himself — he claimed the cushions were flipped over before the guests took their seats.

But yet another eagle-eyed Redditor noted that the cushions appear unmoved in both screenshots.

To which Wheaton could only respond: "Goddammit."

omg JESSE COX! I love him, he's funny.

Hessah 12-29-2013 10:06 PM

They make every board game looks so much fun!

Ralath 12-29-2013 10:35 PM

My sister bought 7 Wonders recently and we've been playing that whenever we had a group of friends together. It's pretty legit!

Hessah 12-29-2013 11:13 PM

Half of the guys that we hang around with doesn't take games at a table seriously.. (like they don't pay 100% to the game.. often walk around when it's not their turn and then you have to find them when it's their turn) so it's not easy to get a good bunch of people to play together...

Hessah 12-29-2013 11:39 PM

I just watched a video on how to play 7 wonders...

the scoring is @_@ my friend will not have the patience for that..

Ralath 12-30-2013 12:31 AM

It's actually not that bad. The nice thing about 7 Wonders is that everyone is involved every turn (because you have to pass cards around and pick which cards you want). And then you're never quite sure who wins until the end and you count up all the scores.

We actually played another game that was like an easier version of 7 Wonders called Sushi Go. That was pretty fun too and very fast.

Lirange 12-30-2013 11:20 PM

I like Rummy
