It's used for mass mail outs.

When you have the same letter that goes to everyone, and the only thing that you need to change are their name and addresses, you set up the info that gets changed in Excel, and you can link it to your letter in Word, and it'll just spew out all your letters with individual names on them.

If you know how to write VBA in MS office, MS office can do wonders!!

We have a person we hire to do that, and he's like god to us LOL

If I ever had to move into a new industry, that's what I'll try get into...

I don't know how long it takes to learn VBA though.. hope it's not a uni degree...

I can't imagine someone saying they spent their entire four years focused on learning VBA.

LOL true that.. probably something I can do through TAFE (or colleges)..

Just that I think the person that writes macros for us has a Computer Science degree...

That's why I'm sooooooooooo glad the two new girls we have in the office are competent with computers.

I wish InDesign could do this... I hate having to do names for wedding tables.

I learned how to do mail merges in high school.




And then I forgot and haven't used them since. ahahaha
