I totally missed it. I wish I was in VA when it happened haha. I was SUPPOSED to be in VA visiting family.

How long did it last for?

Sparkeh 08-23-2011 11:19 PM

It was 5.8 earthquake, from what I heard it didn't do much...

Lasted 3-5mins, and you can barely feel it. <- My friend there

The damage was horrific. Look what it did to this guys lawn :( George Clooney should be holding a telethon in a few days to repair the damage done by that chair.

o.o like 20 min ago there were 2 earthquakes here...right as we were watching the news about the VA one! Ours were 3.6+2.3

i don't know where your friend was sparky but i could definitely feel it o_o.

and it bothers me so much cause i'm pretty sure this house couldn't survive a much bigger earthquake.

He was in Lynchburg, he said he could just feel his chair shaking a little bit. And it lasted 3-5mins.

Apparently there was another earthquake when I was at school today....my dad was home and felt it but I was in Pre-Calc when it happened...maybe I didn't feel it because I was walking to pick up my textbook. Has anyone ever been in a car or walking when an earthquake hit, and does it feel different than being home or at school or in a building?
