The Inbetweeners

I was curious if the show (And recent movie) was being shown or had some form of fanbase outside of the UK ?
http://www.beehivecity.com/wp-conten...betweeners.jpg

I saw the movie a few days ago after being a huge fan of the show and it was just hilarious. I could now write like a paragraph about why its so popular and what its about but I think Ill just find an episode or something and post it below.

I think its so popular is its a pretty accurate representation of teenage life over here. Glad I could share some of our culture.

EDIT: Just a quick warning, quite a bit of swearing, etc.

Glad I could show you something you potentially like. I recommend the Channel 4 OD videos like the one in the OP, unless its not available in the US.

Hraesvelg 08-24-2011 11:29 PM

They're not. I have...other means of acquiring videos. It's only 12 episodes, right?

Ivramire 08-24-2011 11:42 PM

Not available in Canada apparently.

Im pretty sure each season has 6 episodes and there's like 4 seasons ? With a comic relief video for season 5. Ill just check now

EDIT:
3 Seasons of 6 episodes each,
Then 2 bonus episodes 'Top 10 Moments' and a Comic relief episode.

OK, I'm on the fifth episode of season 1, the caravan one. Aside from the sort of association with Travellers, why is there such a disdain for caravanning? We call them RVs in the US, I've done it a few times, and it is rather nice. I mean, we didn't have the sort of party they have, but a bit of mobility while seeing the sights was quite nice.

Its seen as something very 'working class' in England. Normally a family would go on holiday to either a foreign country or to a seaside area, so it's seen as something working class to go sit in a caravan for a week in an, often dirty, park.

Hraesvelg 08-28-2011 10:00 PM

Ah, right. Should have seen that. Usually when I don't get some cultural foible, it comes down to the class system.

Finished the series, by the way. Not bad, but it ends a bit abruptly. I'll try to catch the film.

You've watched all 3 series ? Glad you likes it. The film ahs only come out recently so you might struggle to find a good quality

Hraesvelg 08-29-2011 12:11 PM

Yep, finished all 3 series. I most identified with Gilbert, though. Probably the difference between watching it as a teen and as an adult.

Also, just realized that the chick that played Carli is Tony Head's daughter! Wow. That explains why I kept thinking I knew her from somewhere. She does have quite the resemblance.

I have no idea who Tony Head is xD
And yeah, Gilbert isnt seen much in the film, but when he is its hilarious, especially at the end.

Anthony Stewart Head, Giles from Buffy.

Ah, I never watched Buffy when it was on TV here, I was pretty young at the time and Tom and Jerry seemed more interesting.

Hraesvelg 08-30-2011 11:17 PM

Sigh. I'll try not to feel old, seeing as Buffy and I were the same age.
