I thought the UK had some of the slowest internet I've ever encountered.

We can get it, it's just expensive o: Europeans have better internet from what I've seen.

Maybe I just have horrible internet, but last time I checked if a download was going at 1 mb/sec it was great...

The fastest I can get here is 8Mbps, which is 1 Megabyte per second. He's at 50Mpbs, which would be 6.25 Megabyes per second. The bastard.

Yeah, whatever server you're connected to would have to be able to push that much bandwidth.

Also keep in mind geography. The US COULD be a lot faster, had the telecom companies not squandered their tax breaks for R&D, but it's a hell of a lot harder to roll out stuff to our rural people.
