Oh, shut up.

Damn US "broadband".

Hessah 05-29-2011 10:11 PM

The US has the optic fibre set up for Internet right?

Ralath 05-29-2011 11:20 PM

I thought the UK had some of the slowest internet I've ever encountered.

Yosei 05-29-2011 11:48 PM

We can get it, it's just expensive o: Europeans have better internet from what I've seen.

Hraesvelg 05-30-2011 01:03 AM

Fiber is only available in very urban areas.

Sparkeh 05-30-2011 03:07 AM

Lmao, have fun.

We pay for 4Mb/s download and 1Mb/s upload, Speedtest shows 2Mb download and 0.5Mb upload. D<

Leesa 05-30-2011 06:17 AM

OIAnnawowoahwo woah waoh woah woah...... woah.... woah.

Maybe I just have horrible internet, but last time I checked if a download was going at 1 mb/sec it was great...

Hraesvelg 05-30-2011 06:38 AM

The fastest I can get here is 8Mbps, which is 1 Megabyte per second. He's at 50Mpbs, which would be 6.25 Megabyes per second. The bastard.

Sparkeh 05-30-2011 07:58 AM

^LOL. I wanna download anime fast .___.'

I've heard a little old lady living somewhere in Europe has the fastest internet. May have changed since then since that was 2 years ago.

Ralath 05-30-2011 10:15 PM

Why would an old lady need the fastest internet? >.>

Tamashiiryuu 05-30-2011 10:29 PM

40 Gigabits? Holy goddamn. That's 5 Gigabytes per second. That's like an entire 1080 movie rip.

Hessah 05-31-2011 02:23 AM

Holy crap..

So does that mean like both the sender and the receiving has to have that fibre-optic connection for it to reach that kinda speed?

Hraesvelg 05-31-2011 03:30 AM

Yeah, whatever server you're connected to would have to be able to push that much bandwidth.

Also keep in mind geography. The US COULD be a lot faster, had the telecom companies not squandered their tax breaks for R&D, but it's a hell of a lot harder to roll out stuff to our rural people.

Is it hard to live in US?

Not in the least.
