This a no, no!

KSA Women gathered to drive @ June 17.

This will be horrible, as women aren't allowed to drive. The traffic will be tripled, accidents will be doubled. There aren't any driving schools for women.

I know this is their rights, and there's no law preventing this. but I gotta say some dangers will occur.

I've always been told if I can't say anything nice I shouldn't say anything at all. That being said,

I gotta say Sparky, when I almost end up in fatal car-crashes in Bahrain the first thing I check isn't whether the driver is a guy or a girl.

It's whether or not they're Saudi.

Ohhh snap.

You still live there? Believe me, in summer it will be horrible.

I don't fully understand the situation in your country Sparky so take this with a grain of salt...
So, are women in your country treated as lesser or inequal to men ? I thought fair rights between sexes were sorted out a long time ago pretty much all across the world ?
But yeah; Im a noob at politics and foreign countries, especially their customs and cultures.

Hessah 05-23-2011 09:56 PM

To say that fair rights between sexes was sorted across the world is a fairly big statement!

No I don't think that's happened yet..

Well obviously it's yet to happen within the societies of the citizens, I was referring more to the general laws. Or am I still mistaken ?

Hessah 05-23-2011 10:45 PM

Looking at Sparky's post, I'd say that hasn't happened in every pocket of the world yet...

I think those places ruled by religion rather than a government will most probably not have equal rights between men and women..

I don't know too much either xD

Hessah 05-23-2011 10:47 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%2...men.27s_rights

Looks like this agreement thing has only come about in the last 40 years or so... and you can see where it doesn't apply...

I've actually read that page (my English final was on women's birth control and pro-choice rights). Women's rights are actually more recent than we think. But again, it varies per region. I find it interesting that the US didn't ratify.

Well, They are treated inequal to men. They don't get jobs(only as teachers), and more I can't think of at the moment. x.x

They were fair rights before, back in my father's time(1965) they were happy and could do everything. Just the present changed.

As for breast milking; I would've married my cousin but she's considered my sister.

i don't think i quite understood all of this sentence

didn't realize there was a seperate section for that. i get it now, i think.

Sparkeh 05-24-2011 04:45 PM

I don't know, I kept asking my mother why I can't marry her. They always answer "Cause your mom breast feed her so she's your sister" and you can't marry your sister?

Hraesvelg 05-24-2011 07:54 PM

Marrying your cousin? I don't know if we should get the banjos out or plan another British royal wedding...

Tamashiiryuu 05-24-2011 11:18 PM

Take out the banjos.

Jikanu 05-25-2011 02:58 AM

He's making jokes stereotyping the ideals of the 'rednecks' who stereotypically commit incest/marry their own and a joke about the British Royal Family who are also joked about how they are somewhat related to each other.

Also, Breast milk... wat. As far as Im concerned Sparky, if you're related its a nono

Well, the worst part here is you're getting married to someone you don't know. You don't know him/her.

^I don't want that.
