I love Australian Weather

Its like Mother Nature hates Australia after this flood (Honestly)

Its gonna be 40c in Melbourne, 42c in Adelaide and a Tropical Cyclone will make direct impact into Perth all on Sunday.

Id prefer to be in Perth on Sunday directly in the cyclone then put up with another stupid 42c day...

Hessah 01-28-2011 05:10 AM

And Vic is still flooding away...

Lucky here, it's only 23 here in Sydney...

Can I trade you my 42c Sunday for your 30c Sunday? I think its a fair deal since the Sydney beaches are alot better than the ones in Adelaide

I love what I read one day:

"QLD: Flooded. VIC: Destructive Storms.WA: Burning. NSW: we just have grey clouds, humidity & a bad state government"

<3

Blaaaaaaaah 01-28-2011 06:14 AM

Even parts of Tassy are flooded. Not as bad as QLD and VIC though.

Andromeda 01-28-2011 06:16 AM

Im thinking Perth is gonna be a bit flooded after Sunday when that Cyclone blows through. Going to be seeing WA floods on the news next =|

Blaaaaaaaah 01-28-2011 06:18 AM

I thought Carnavon was already flooded a bit, unless that was bushfires instead.

Living in Australia actually makes weather a legit and interesting topic.

Andromeda 01-28-2011 06:40 AM

Poor Australia just look lol

Bianca the most dangerous of the cyclones is almost surely going to go directly into Perth.

Anthony looks like its gonna go into the Queensland Coast as its path has started to curve left.

Not to mention another tropical disturbance has formed in the South Pacific region and that is likely going to intensify as it enters Australian Waters before hitting the Queensland Coast.

Wilma has already made impact with the North Island in New Zealand (The 2nd Cyclone NZ has gotten in the past couple of weeks)

Loveless 01-28-2011 09:37 AM

It's like Mother Nature just went "fuck you" to Australia... because you know deadly animals just weren't enough.

Someone I know was supposed to move to Australia because of work. They couldn't get a hold of the office there due to the fact that their office was probably washed away. :o

a.L 01-28-2011 10:00 AM

DW, I got this.

Andromeda 01-28-2011 10:09 AM

The Queensland Premier has already issued a warning for "Yasi" which is expected to hit the Queensland Coast a few days after Anthony as a Category 4 or 5 Cyclone. (The strongest storm of the year to hit Australia)

Apparently people are complaining about that because Yasi hasnt even developed into a cyclone yet so the cyclones track is uncertain. Apparently the premier doesnt want to take any chances after the flood and after Severe Tropical Cyclone Ului from last year.

EDIT: Severe Tropical Cyclone Bianca also got upgraded to a Category 4 cyclone but its obviously going to rapidly weaken as it enters the cooler waters before making landfall around Perth and Albany

KLMAOOOOOoooooo

Hessah 01-29-2011 06:33 AM

LOL @ a.L, you're gonna handle the flood single handed ay?!

Where did the flood water from the ones going through Victoria come from?

It's actually a beautiful day here in Sydney.. I think there is a reason to why the living cost here is so much more expensive than most other capital cities in Australia...

Andromeda 02-01-2011 06:23 AM

Woah Holy mother of god Yasi is the size of Queensland.
http://www.bom.gov.au/gms/IDE00035.201102010530.jpg

Already they are saying it wil be the worst storm to ever hit Queensland and it may eclipse Cyclone Larry and rival Hurricane Katrina.

But first thing when I saw that cyclone I said to myself my god what a beast of a cyclone that is. Queensland is gonna have some catastrophic damage done to it after that thing hits the coast for sure.

Hessah 02-01-2011 06:52 AM

Following the flood levies will come the cyclone levies..

But seriously.. all those parts of QLD that were higher up and lucky enough to survive the flood is now gonna be cycloned over...

Supposingly most houses are built to withstand some severe cyclones, but that doesn't stop trees from falling over and things being picked up and blown around smashing the town...

I shouldn't really complain about the dry 36 degree heat here... http://www.laymark.com/i/m/m160.gif

Andromeda 02-01-2011 08:53 PM

Yep yep

Now they are saying this will be the worst cyclone in Australian history and its already rivaled Hurricane Katrina in strength and size.

My heart lies with the peopel in Queensland right now. This is gonna be far worse than the Queensland floods when this thing hits the coast.

Yosei 02-01-2011 09:00 PM

Getting a little over a foot of snow tonight 8D I miss hot weather D8

Ralath 02-01-2011 09:07 PM

My dad e-mailed me today and said that we were supposed to get 18-20 inches of snow back home... @_@_@

Yosei 02-01-2011 09:14 PM

Do you live near the Great Lakes region?

Ralath 02-01-2011 09:45 PM

No. I think it's the entire midwest region? Not sure.

Yosei 02-01-2011 09:47 PM

Oh yeah, forgot the storm is going through like 2/3 of the country xP I just keep seeing the part thats heading towards the East.

Yeah they said Yasi has developed so much energy in the last two days to supply the world for a year..

And apparently (I only half believe this, I don't believe in Weather Scientist too much) that the worst weather the other side of the world has got (Europe's insane winter) the worst heat we get down here...

Ralath 02-01-2011 11:19 PM

Yep.... I've definitely heard that Europe has been really cold...

Hessah 02-02-2011 03:59 AM

Latest report - http://www.smh.com.au/environment/we...201-1acgp.html

Some places have record wind of 125km/h and everyone is now advised to stay in side and not come out for the next 24 hrs..

That's freaky just reading it.. It almost feels like you're on a roller coaster ride.. you've been climbing to the top and now u're at the top they say "hold your breath.. we're free falling now.."

Helion 02-02-2011 08:04 AM

Hey, local psychopath Al Gore has blamed the massive snow and cold up here on global warming - can you do us a favor and send some heat this way so that we can have our global warming back.

Hessah 02-02-2011 08:33 AM

only if u promise to bottle up some of your winter and send it this way...

Hessah 02-02-2011 08:57 PM

Tom Gleeson: Cyclone Yasi is downgraded to category 2. On Today and Sunrise they look visibly disappointed.

HHAHAHAHAHAH It's so true though, this morning, they were like "not a lot of dmg, but IT'S NOT OVER YET!" and there's 1 house in a neighbourhood that was ripped apart and they totally jumped at it.. going OMG OMG..

Andromeda 02-03-2011 12:10 AM

The cyclone didnt cause as much damage as people were expecting but hey look on the bright side at least our Sugar and Banana Prices will rise sharply because the crops were destroyed.

Hessah 02-03-2011 12:22 AM

Yeah.. lack of bananas again..

I suppose a lot of the houses that are weaker would've been destroyed by larry.. and all the new houses are built to withstand cyclones..
