Fighter or Archer?
So I've narrowed my choices down to these 2 classes and I'm having trouble picking one >.< to help me decide could some please answer some questions for me?
1.) Which one is better off in the beggining and which is better in the long run? Stating the levels if you could would be great too, but it's ok if you dont. 2.) Which is better in the following scenarios? 1.) PvP (2.) Training (3.) Bossing Ty in advanced for any helpful info. P.S. If I pick a fighter I'd be a Damage Dealer build and if I pick an Archer I'm not sure. Reccomend one please? |
1) Fighters are easier to start off with good dmg, defense, and HP. While Archers are late game classes with their AoE poison and such.
2) PvP: Axe fighters have great damage. PvE: Archers have upper hand with AoE kiting capabilities. Boss: Both are good. Archers, in my experience takes aggro due to their DoT skills but if you have a good tank and time your skills you'll be okay. Of course, this is from an older player so things may have changed since I quit a year ago. :P IMO, if you are patient Archers are more fun being quite flexible in their roles with the right gears. |
well i agree with loveless but i cant really answer your question because i like both archers and fighters:laugh:i cant choose both of them are great
|
fighters are best if your a "lone wolf" because of high END but if your a party kinda person archers are sweet i really like the DPS skills of archers $$
|
Fighters are great for pretty much all three depending on your build. They can tank bosses, mob when grinding and are excellent pvpers. They're also incredibly helpful in the beginning because things go by quickly.
Archers, however, are amazing down the line. Kiting makes leveling not only fast but SO easy since you can kite things that are pretty out of your level in GIANT mobs. I'm a fighter and god I wish I were an archer right now >< haha. |
If you like pvp, go fighter, but'll need to pay for cash shop items to be a top pvp player.
If u like pvp but dont want to spend much money on cash shop items, both are okay, but without an hp/sp extender cash shop item, winning battles are very slim, and archers with lots of dex in their build can be annoying to land a hit on. Not many cash items are in the store that increases a players aim. For pve, both classes are good for solo, but archers can kill more monsters at a time compared to a fighter, but a fighter can killer higher lvl monsters for earlier than an archer becuase of they have more defence than an arhcer. |
Fighters are probably better at PvP...as for grinding, archers can kite, so I would imagine they would be better (at a higher level, not in beginning). Fighters are probably better in the beginning as well, but not sure about in the long run. And..If you needed money, I think an archer would be better for that, as people will pay you to plvl them at higher levels. If youd be willing to.

Fighters
though archers kite fighters once they come under range fighters easily PWN THEM! and fighters in pvp rock
|
Fighters are definitely easier in the beginning. Archers take kind of a long time to really hit their stride, since you don't get the good dot/aoe skills until later on. But after they get their kitable aoe, archers are great at solo grinding.
Fighters who can tank will do well with boss farming (either solo if they're really good tanks or duoing with a cleric) and will also be in demand for parties. So if you decide to make a DD fighter, it's a good idea to have the capability to tank as well. Keep a shield and 1-hand sword handy along with scrolls and potions. Squishy fighters aren't quite as welcome in parties who need a fighter to tank. :D |
In my opinion I like archer; they're far ranged, PvP, No idea. >_O
Training, archers get beat up easily if you get attacked, but you can kite and run for your life, and try to beat it up. Or a fighter, like many before me, you take less damage, can tank, and nice Health. But, i'd suggest trying both classes, and seeing which you may like better. They're both good in my opinion. |
1) I'd say fighter is better to begin with, because they're stronger and have good HP and dmg and everything. Also it's easy to start moneymaking I guess, since when you get to 30, slack on some T3 scrolls and you can quite easily farm ZK, to get blues and stuff.
2) It's rather hard to pvp with an archer.. you'll need +9s , good gear and possibly charms ><. Lvling is easier with an archer. Once you get to 51 you can kite the hell out of a huge crowd of monsters (with a speed scroll :D). If you want to tank bosses you'll need scrolls and good gear. And it's definitely harder to tank with an archer. But as an archer you can party up with a fighter and just be a DD. :o As for build.. I haven't played with archer that much, but I suppose adding STR to make up the lack of dmg, but with good end and dex in gears? I hope it was useful for you. o: |
In pvp fighters pwn. Although once archers are 51+ they have Natures mist... so idk
|
I have 2.5 words to say. nature's mist ftw
|
I can't exactly answer all of those questions because my archer is only level 17 (not my main), but I would say archer over fighter. For me, fighter is too typical. If it's your first character, go with fighter. Later, try an archer once you get the hang of things in the game.
|
I agree with crystalblueheart, but I am a cleric lev 56 on my main who can heal 1425 hp, which of course generates a crap load of aggro... I hope I dun run into more noon fighters in the game, so pls keep ur path of carnage away from bijou... we already have too many fighters asking wat mock is in that server...
|
I like Archer, simply because I despise PvP
|
When you have those everlasting annoying repeatable quests
A kiting archer would come in handy |
I agree... especially when u have an ached cleric duo, u can natures mist the vampire bats in SEG to absolute oblivion...
|
In terms of PVP, fighters win hands down.
But honestly, archers are much more fun (imo) because they can kite and mob with nature's mist :] |
Both classes are good in their own way. I know archers who totally make the pvp aspect good, but some fighters who do just the same. Same for grinding, and bossing. Its a matter of opinion, an if youd rather be frontal damage or ranged
|
1.) Fighters are easier to start with, in the 5x-9x range they're sort of boring/time-consuming. I leveled a Knight to 100 after my archer, the 1v1 kills and low exp/hour was so frustrating
2.) Fighters are definitely better than archers in pvp, but only if you're able to catch your opponent. An archer's low dots are hardly a threat even to a squishy mage ;c And for bosses, fighters specialize in massive 1v1 damage, so obviously they're better for bosses |
when u get the 3 aoe dots, u will pity the fighters chasing after ur kite lool... rofl is the new lol
|
Ya know. fighters mostly kill the archer when they get the stun. I think i'll buy a bunch of SC pots that way I can survive longer than them, and only waste it when caught.
|
I love fighters  they are good if you are a lone wolf. very class good to help others. Fighters have better attack and defence so natrual intance fighting machine they have lot of hp than sp. you dont have to have party if you are in kq (only to higher lvls)
Now archers are good they arent very good at lone wolf they have to fight monsters their lvl or lower. The one of the best perks you get being a archer is the insane area attack. i was with a lvl 48 archer and she was taking on like 15 enemies w/o my help:sad:. i have noticed that archers gets partied faster than fighters. The main reason is because the can pull an moster out of a group of mosters. the are good with parties but not a lone wolf. the other good thing about them is they dont have to fight up close. good if fighting monsters that puts curse on you in short range. they dont have much skills to learn eather So lets say your party falls apart in kq or something most fighters dont go and get a party they just lone wolf. But archers they need a party and its easy for archers to get a party So if i were you i would chose fighters for short and archers for long range |

Although archers may be squishy and have less skills (according to your statement), they have very effective and useful skills like nature's mist. Archers>fighters imo. |
