Ok, so I've been playing one single MMORPG since like 2004. And recently I just got fed up with the problems and thought to look around for something new.

I found a few since then that dont last more then a few days. I've yet to log into the game, but ive been reading up and looking at the forums and wiki. It's very appealing and I can't wait to get in game.

Now, the community in FF seems fun, what server do you guys recommend for a complete newb that has never logged on before??

And what class would be best to start off with? I was looking at the Archer class since it seems pretty straight forward stat wise. 25 spr rest Str. It's all strange to me since i came from a game that Dex=Atk and Str was atk for melee not range. Anyways, Im trying to get the hange of it.

Would that be a good class to start off with? In order to get more gears etc? Or is there a less gear oriented class that can go without having haxd gears to be strong for a while?

Pretty much all the classes have random chances of having their class-gear drop. Of all the classes, Clerics can probably get by with the least "hax'd" gear due to their main role being healers. You'll need to find a dedicated party though if you don't go offensive.

I'd suggest Fighters as a starting class. Survivability with some lethality while getting a feel for basic gameplay and aggro range.

Thanks for the welcomes. What's the most active server? If in case I wanted to go cleric I would have the highest chance for parties.

I would choose cleric, less complicated than being a fighter XD Archer is good too, they arent too terribly squishy like mages, and they have the highest starting attack.

Heh, thanks Kaini. I just hate soloing. And how's the lvl grinding? Does it take a long time to be lvl 60+?

Well, it took me about half a year to get to 62 (considering the fact that I quit for a couple months XD)
And I wasn't very fast :p

why 'ello mate!!! welcome to FF!!! I would say that Fighter is the best starting class. As for levelng, OS (outspark) has made getting to level 40 insanely easy. But if you want to be a good fighter, DO NOT IZYEL!!! It is bad for your career as a fighter...

idk i would start out as a cleric for sure cuz u spend less money
and u got the heals for the grinding and u can always find a party
unless ur a fail cleric and iff u fail alot ppl will no it and tell everyone
that ur not a great cleric lols so yea


also i think archer is a great solo class and they are rly funn
but yea i quit fiesta i dont like most of the new ppl that join in last
5 months cuz there not kool and piss me off but there are a few kool
ones to =D dont just use the tower to lvl learn the game
dont be the tower based nbob players =D

-And I understand D.A.R.E. Like I said, Im very green to this one, but not new to MMO's in general. I find the most effective way to play a certain class. There will always be a learning curve, but if the game is worth it, I will definitly get the hang of it and be great at it.

And im still leaning toward Archer, even though cleric is on my list. I think I will start with Archer, and if the server I go into is populated ill jump on and make a cleric. That way I have something to do solo and something to do when someone wants to party.

But I have played support classes before. They were called priests in the mmo I played.

Im a newb, not a noob. There is a difference =)

Teva, Bijou, and Epith are the most populated servers - Teva is the oldest, I think, and is a high level server mainly. Legal and Cypion are new, and probably have more of the lower levels. I would go with Epith, just because Raini seems pretty willing to pull you in and help you learn the ropes.

Each class has it's own advantages, but cleric is probably the slowest to level unless you party all of the time. Archer is a good choice, can pull mobs from a distance, and the one I play levels fairly quickly. Make sure you learn product making skills right away - I recommend scrolls and stones if you are looking to make in-game money. That will help you buy better gears from other players faster. Thanks Helion, that was very helpful. Yeah, I decided going with the Archer. It was very confusing mechanics at first. And the town and the way they change from maps confused me. But im getting the hang of it. I've learned to use most of it now...the only thing I havent touched is the product making skills. Alchemy I think its called. You cant get those skill points back right?

Edit:And I jumped into the game thinking Bijou for some reason. And I got a name I really liked. And it's taken on Epith. Do all the servers share one name? Or are they each individual servers where new names are made up??

No two characters can have the same name on the save server. So someone else took your name :( But you could always try to alter it by capitalizing random letters or putting _name_ around it.


EDIT: also, to do alchemy, you have to pick only two production skills, and then your character will be stuck with those for the rest of its life :p

And btw, for some reason I cant log in to my account. Havoc, im sorry i made a new one. But i tried resetting the password and it keeps telling me that it's wrong. Even though I can log into the chat with that username...so i know it works. Can anyone help me with this?

Izyel is my enemy. It is the scourge to all of Isya!:zomg:
okay, i'll stop... Izyel is a tower that is located at Forest of Mist (if I remember correctly) It is accessible from lvl 20-50, and it goes along with a series of quests that level you ridiculously fast. As many Isyan's know, the people who have leveled with it, have a warped since of how to play... and to be honest, they absolutely suck at playing their class. As a result of it, fighter's suck at, well fighting, cleric's don't know when to heal, archer's as far as I can tell, still poke things; and mages still EAT FIGHTERS FACES OFF IN PvP kq... o3o

btw, kq is kingdom quest.

Im on Pacific Standard Time. Where are you from? I actually havent been on lately. I got to lvl 15 and now its really starting to be a grind to lvl...

Getting to lvl 20 is childs play ;) And I'm on US central time. I get on around 3:30 each night. :p So sorry I keep missing you!
