Heal Empowering?!

Ok, I have a couple questions about empowering for clerics.

First off I have empowered bash with damage and sp consumption. Heal sp consumption, and I am now starting on Invincible duration time.

My question is, should I start empowering clerics heal for cooldown, or is the .9 second decease not worth it?

What SHOULD i empower if the above is don't.

An Age old debate.

Well seeing that u're lvl 32... you should know by now how often u feel like u need to spam heal. If you party a lot, always wished that ur heal cool down can be a bit faster, then DO IT! the 0.9 sec IS noticible.

If u tend to solo, and u're only healing urself, and u've got restore as well, then maybe its not as significant.

I've empowered the same thing as u.. except for Bash SP Comsumption. I've put it in Heal CD instead.

Reducing heal's cast time by 1/3 is EXTREMELY helpful, especially when you're in a tight spot with your party, such as GETTING ****** TRAINED 6 TIMES IN A ROW @()#&()@*#&)@#

Yeah. o:<

The first thing I did was empower decreased cool down time and decreased SP consumption. Without it, you won't be able to spam Heal as well as a lot of the other Clerics and this may cause some party members to die.

Age old debate, indeed.

Coming from a level 48 cleric...don't waste 5 points on cooldown.

If you're having trouble keeping your party alive, you'll eventually get party heals anyways, which makes a decreased Heal cooldown practically obsolete. The 5 points wasted on cooldown could go to decreasing SP consumption on Restore or something, as it's a pretty useful skill that uses minimal SP.

Hessah 11-09-2007 01:37 AM

SP - you can stone/Pot...

Time - u cant buy.... kekekeke

But i guess in the end it's personal preference.. if he has gone to lvl 32 without needed the CD but he doesnt need it after all..

ThievingSix 11-09-2007 02:05 AM

Hmm, I'll just start saving the points then. Thanks for the replys.

P.S. It's almost level 34 now thanks in part to Takies powerleveling skillz in uruga!!

I regret putting any empower points into heal.

Lafieru 11-10-2007 12:55 AM

^ Where would you put those points otherwise?

Blaaaaaaaah 11-10-2007 01:11 AM

^ Agreed.

Even after putting 10 points into Heal and 5 points into another skill I don't know what to empower with my left over 5 points.

Let's see...if you haven't already put them in...

Bash, Bleed/Trip, Rejuvenate, Restore, or Invincible, then therein is the answer.

I don't have enough points, so to speak. Saving points for Invigorate/Recover.

- Crosses out Bash and Bleed/Trip -
Not planning to empower offense skills.

- Crosses out Rejuvenate -

I don't use it much - and I think it's bugged for me, I get stuck and I don't finish casting half the time. =/

Restore - yeah, I was planning to empower that but never got around to it because I'm indecisive.

- Ticks invincible -
Did that.

What skill is Invigorate/Recover? And level? o:

Tadiakichi 11-10-2007 02:12 AM

Invigorate is a level 79 AoE skill that functions like restore, except on a party basis.

Recover's also a party healing skill you can get at level 60 I think.

Investing points into Bash's power is a good idea because it's the only DPS skill clerics get.

Blaaaaaaaah 11-10-2007 02:23 AM

Oh level 60 and 79... so far away. ;~;

Yeah but I don't solo much at all so I don't really need to use Bash much. Concentrating on raising a support cleric so I'd like to empower support skills.

Tadiakichi 11-10-2007 03:41 AM

Even so, you'll still be left with an excess of points. And what's wrong with a few extra firepower between those heals?

Well... I still have a few skill options I can use my skill points on - I'm just indecisive about whether I should add them now or wait till higher level skills.

Besides, like I said, I want to raise a full support cleric - therefore I want to only work on my support skills. I hardly solo - so I won't even use bash on the monsters much because my party will be killing it with me.

There is nothing wrong with adding points to bash, I just choose not to because of my preferences.

Save a few points for SP consumption on Invigorate and Recover. Especially when your whole party is under some serious flak, these spells can be a godsend.

Restore's maximum SP consumption is 117, at 79 or so. Eventually, if you can spare the points, throw 5 in there. I have 2 spare points, currently saving them for Recover.

If you really wanted to know...

Bash - 5 Power, 5 SP consumption.
Heal - 5 SP consumption.
Rejuvenate - 5 SP consumption.
Invincible - 1 Duration.

With 2 points left over. I spam Bash, Heal, and Rejuvenate like none other. But then again, I'm a battle/solo cleric...which means it's all about offensive power and stacked heals.

I'd much rather have put the 10 points into Bash damage and cooldown.

Hessah 11-10-2007 06:21 AM

I was gonna get Trip.. coz i had spare silvers floating around..

and then just as i was about to get it i re-read the descrptions...

it only does 1/3 extra dmg compare to bash (unempowered) and it use almost twice as much SP!

so i changed my mind and not even gonna bother getting it.. let alone empowering that!

until they implement the stun.. it's not worth your SP...

Ivramire 11-10-2007 06:22 AM

bash stops getting upgrades so you might have to get it eventually

Lafieru 11-10-2007 07:21 AM

I still don't personally see how one skill becoming obselete makes it necessary to use the gimped other one. IMO, Trip/Bleed is not, and will never, be worth it.
