Lirange/Blahs/Ralath - GaGa Thread. Obv

She is coming back to Detroit O:!

Same friend of my brother is going to see her again. Tickets go on sale Friday and the concert is Sept 4th at the Palace (Where I was for Muse)

IF I HAD A FREAKING JOB... I WOULDA PUT MY OWN PAR-TAY TOGETHER TO GOOO

A_Forever 03-15-2010 09:44 PM

If they have Meet & Greet passes, he'll be buying them too

Lirange 03-15-2010 09:56 PM

OMG I KNOW!! Yesterday I heard she was having another NA tour and I was praying that she'll go to my state, she isn't=[. Unless she adds more unto it, which I highly doubt. BUTTT, she is going to Kansas City, Missouri which is only a 3hour 13minute drive from my house to the stadium according to MapQuest.

I'm going to try to get some people to go with me and hopefully a ride. Though, I really don't think anyone is going to want to drive us all the way there so if that's the case, I'm going to use the money I'm going to make in the summer for a car to go see her.

Do you know how much the tickets cost when he bought them? I think I have enough money right now to buy a ticket. Also, did last time they have meet & greet passes? I would love to get my hands on some *o*

A_Forever 03-15-2010 10:00 PM

Meet & Greet at the Palace is like $500. He just looked it up. Tickets for this show he is going to see are like uhhh idk

"They were like $45 for okayish seats last time. This time I want her to sweat on me." -Brother's friend

Lirange 03-15-2010 10:03 PM

Eh, meet and greet is way out of my price range. G__G

I'd like to get front row seats to. Need to wait till they announce prices=/

A_Forever 03-15-2010 10:05 PM

Well, this guy will pay anything for certain things...

A_Forever 03-15-2010 10:10 PM

"I can't wait for tickets to go on sale. (That;s what I keep reading online is this Friday at 10AM) but I don't see the event online yet. We will see what happens. but regardless.. I am super excited. Alleena we should work together on getting seats next to each other (depending on prices..because I do want front-rowish seats if I can manage it and I am willing to pay out the ass for them."

See? XD

Hraesvelg 03-16-2010 12:36 AM

Doesn't really surprise me a big Lady GaGa fan will pay with ass.

OK, that was just too easy. What's up with all of the product placement in the Telephone video, BTW? I can't tell if it's some sort of meta-commentary or if it was just to pay the bills.

A_Forever 03-16-2010 01:01 AM

Everyone is commenting on that.

Ehh. Those companies paid for their product to be in there. Why not let them? ;o

Hessah 03-16-2010 01:01 AM

Maybe to pay Beyonce.. xD

Blaaaaaaaah 03-16-2010 01:01 AM

Yay let's all go see GAGA!!

She also has a stop in Oklahoma City!

I'm just wondering about the motivation of it. So far, everything I've seen about GaGa has basically been one big piece of performance art. I find it hard to think that's it's just straight-up product placement. I might be projecting, but I would imagine it's a commentary on how pervasive product-placement is and how distracting it is...but I could be wrong.

A_Forever 03-16-2010 01:37 AM

I didn't really find it distracting. Of course, I'm one of those people to kind of look over extra things and focus on the main people/things @_@

Hraesvelg 03-16-2010 01:47 AM

I'm a detail-orientated person when it comes to things like this. Well, up to a point. Things that are overly dense with motifs and iconography (like a lot of Kubrick's stuff) tend to irritate me a bit, though. It's just wankery for the sake of wankery. That's probably a discussion for another time, though, heh.

Hessah 03-16-2010 01:59 AM

That's why I don't watch Will Smith movies coz he's full of ads =.= (I actually looked pass all the product placements in that MV, I don't remember seeing any)

Hraesvelg 03-16-2010 02:07 AM

Really? They were almost pointedly obvious. Maybe they don't have a brand awareness in Australia. Miracle Whip, Wonderbread, Virgin Mobile, and PlentyofFish.com were the ones that spring to mind without review it again.

Hessah 03-16-2010 02:14 AM

Ohh I remember Virgin Mobile now..

Maybe the rest of the brands I don't recognise..

Leesa 03-16-2010 02:49 AM

Lady Gaga is known to have lots of product placement. She did tons of it in the Bad Romance video. Wii Nunchuk, earphones that she loved (which were also in the Telephone MV) laptops, expensive ass stereo... and yeah :P

I would LOVE to get meet and greet, but don't think I can get them. I'm going to try to get the best seats possible.

Some of them are endorsements, others are american hallmarks. Virgin Mobile is sponsoring her monster ball tour, plentyoffish payed to be in there, miracle whip I think was paid..maybe, wonderbread was her idea and so were the diet cola drinks. Those are all American hallamarks which is why she chose them to be into the video. I don't remember exactly why she put those in her videos, but they have a meaning.

Ralath 03-16-2010 09:25 PM

Maybe. Depends. Ahaha

I didn't see the Depends product placement, but I wouldn't be surprised...
