Bannana Explains Christianity.

...This is just... *Facepalm*

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:11 AM

Yeah, everyone has slagged on Ray Comfort by this point it almost isn't even fair. It's like smacking a toddler.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 12:12 AM

Meh. Im out of the loop.

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:16 AM

You might have also missed the peanut butter guy.

There is lots of crazy in the creationism movement.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 12:23 AM

...wooooow @_@

....that's... just... Wtf? They ignore the amount of energy it would take... x.x

Honestly, people like that make me embarassed to be a christian... ESPECIALLY since the church already SAID that evolution is a possibility! X_X

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:24 AM

If it makes you feel any better, you can probably rest assured these are not Catholics.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 12:26 AM

it still saddens me that teachings that are absolutely good are distorted to block out reason and truth.

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:28 AM

Oh, please. Reason and truth are the antithesis to any religion, Catholic or not.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 12:29 AM

Notrly. I hold the belief that they can work side by side, a belief you've chastized in the past, but have yet to disprove.

Give me one good reason why they cant work together; Because some of the FOLLOWERS are batshit insane?

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:32 AM

Every time I give you an example of unreasonable behavior in the Bible, you either stick your fingers in your ears or wave it away with your "belief" in magic. I've led the horse to water.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 12:34 AM

I've done neither; i gave my reasons for believing that it was otherwise, if memory serves. (For example, thinking adam/eve are symbolic, thinking that the old testament was possibly corrupted over time by those with biggoted hearts, etc.)

You baselessly denying the validity of such reasons doesnt really count as me having a blind heart.

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:39 AM

Once you start allowing that the book may be a fallible work created by man, it all falls apart. It becomes a piece of literature, as it should be. I don't recall any holy wars being fought over Ovid.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 12:40 AM

"Holy" wars were started by men with corrupt hearts and blind minds. Not a book teaching love.

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 12:45 AM

If you read the Bible and only get a message of love out of it, perhaps you should read a bit more. The apocalyptic nature of the last book in the current canon isn't all hugs and rainbows.

Rightclaw 11-30-2009 12:54 AM

Televangelists make me lol.

The ending is.

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 01:02 AM

Actually, the ending is a threat.
Rev 22:18-21(KJV)

18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20: He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Jikanu 11-30-2009 01:04 AM

Earlier ending. I.e. heaven and earth becoming one, God walking among men, and peace finally falling upon us.

i'll continue this in the morning, if you so choose. gotta leave for now though

Lirange 11-30-2009 01:15 AM

You spelled banana wrong

Chimaera 11-30-2009 01:43 AM

A banana does fit perfectly in my hand.

Isn't that just a little more evidence that our ancestors evolved from ape-like creatures? The guy's theory is almost based on intelligent design (intelligent creator) — which seems much worse.

You just might want to read up on the cultivation of bananas. The design you're most familiar with never existed in the wild.

secbro20 11-30-2009 03:16 AM

Ugh...both of those videos are vomit worthy. Whats most disgusting is that they were made TO TEACH and that people actually bought their message.

Haha! Now that changes things.

Hraesvelg 11-30-2009 06:21 AM

Phantom Badger 11-30-2009 06:42 AM

wow, i should show that video about the peanutbutter to my bio teacher.

Hraesvelg 12-01-2009 01:38 AM

It's just such a stupid example to make. No one at any point in history has said that ANY matter plus ANY energy will sometimes equal life.
