they're like all over the place now

aramil001 11-12-2009 01:19 PM

and, if you ask me, they look very stupid. At least they should make the banners look a little me... interesting?

problem is they show like all the lvl 90+ gear in most of the advertisements so ppl think that their character is gonna look super awesome right when they start the game

^ good point. leaves the newbies curious about a lot of things though.

It's an effective marketing strategy *slaps self* what I meant was yeah I saw those ads. They pop up like rabies! or is it rabbits? or rabbies? I have no idea, the point is they're everywhere I go!!!!! O_O

lol but seriously, people who see those ads probably misinterpret them. cause all you see is a cartoon dood or something so you think "Kick ass! I'll just make an account and start playing" thinking it's like adventure quest but whenyou actually get on the site and start working towards that soughtafter membership, you realise the long disheartening journy that is ahead of you and slap yourself in the face (or at least I did cause I'm an idiot).

My point is, I don't think those ads would work. Cause it's a social networking site. y'know? People barely have time to go there, which is why the site isn't constantly flooded by "James is looking at the wall" posts and "Alice just ate another gummy bear while staring at pics of ... Hannah Montana or something". Like, what I'm saying is, people who go on facebook, (usually) have lives. lol, I'd reckon all my facebook friends are too busy to download/play/etc this game. So if they really wanted people to join they'd advertise on other games sites or none social-y sites. But who knows, this might work, there's always the one nerd in the group of ten busy people who simply joined to have fun times vicariously through other peoples' posts and photoshop themselves in their pictures (don't judge me -_-). lol

But if I had a game thingy site, I'd advertise on everyother game there is mwahahaha and brag about being better than that game lol cause I'd be a mean executive then hihihi and I'd be like "oooh look at me, I'm awesome! Im thin and hot and smrt and I has cookie" *looks down* .....
*sigh*
I'm not an executive (X_X)--)))===|
blurg!

excuse my randomness.. I hasn't had dinner yet..
I WAS PROMISED BACON AND EGGS! BACON AND EGGS!!!!!

Fiesta ad's are are all over the place.. one thing i don't understand is why game websites have advertisements for other game sites ?

tweeety 12-19-2009 08:59 AM

^ because they're game sites. There's no point advertising penis enlargements in a dressupgames and games in a funeral site. If you wanna hit your target audience, wouldn't you advertise where they'd be? So if I was a gamer, where else would I be but at a gaming site? And if I'm there then perhaps I could be enticed to come here through an effective ad. If you're wandering why the game sites allow other games to advertise it's cause usually they don't have a choice. The advertisements bring in the money they need and as for the ads placed, they don't really have a choice over them. Plus if it's adsense, or something like it, it will advertise something related which in a gaming site would be -you guessed it- another gaming site. And that gaming site just has to put up with it, but as long as its good its members wont completely leave it and if they're still attending it then the site owners have no complaints there so they'd have no beef. Plus, other sites are forced to give said sites the same courtesy so while their players join the other games, the other games' players join this game and they're aaaaall happy and friendly and have fun parties where people get drunk and wake up the next morning with very sore heads and dead hookers.

At least that's what I think :D

tweety i don't think ive seen you make a short post yet o:... and posting game sites on a game site is like selling walmart donuts in a donuts shop ... not the best example
