Flyff

Has anyone played it or have any info? I've been thinking about trying it.

A_Forever 11-08-2009 02:49 AM

Played it. Quit because the EXP sucked.. plus my brother quit xD

My brother quit at like 81 because he was getting like .1 exp? Or something like that. I forget

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 02:50 AM

lol so i shouldnt try it?

Lirange 11-08-2009 03:05 AM

Unless you have the patience to grind for hours on end. I say no

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 03:13 AM

lol then nvm.

a.L 11-08-2009 03:16 AM

It's even more point and click than Fiesta.

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 03:18 AM

I like Fiesta better now.

secbro20 11-08-2009 06:24 PM

All classes have all their skills by level 80, but the cap for some reason is 120. It doesn't make sense to go any further, since there really isn't anything else to do, besides grind your life away. Seriously, I was getting .1 per mob, but that was in the mines(a special area with mobs with better EXP). If I wasn't there, you could be I'd get like .075 per mob. It was awful.

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 06:28 PM

wow

secbro20 11-08-2009 06:31 PM

Though I did think the PvP was much much better in Flyff than Fiesta. 8 classes vs 4 really makes a difference. And the skills and animations were much cooler.

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 06:31 PM

But the grinding is just rediculous?

Yep. One quest every 3 levels or so that only gives 20% and ONLY 20% during the first level you get it. Each level afterwards, if you turn it in, you get less.

So, yep. pretty awful.

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 08:46 PM

wow...

Lirange 11-08-2009 08:57 PM

But they have a lot of cool features like that one witch, clockworks, guild wars, etc.

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 09:32 PM

i hate grinding though

siege is for cs whores. regular guild wars just suck. eitehr they're over in half a second or the guild master doesn't get to do anything. clockworks is solo farmed by people now. all there really is is grind and more grind.

oh they did add a new instance dungeon... but apparently you're gonna need a really good team and a ton of cs to do it.

Fighterboy 11-08-2009 11:33 PM

That game sounds rigged.

pretty much. at one point classes were fairly balanced in pvp. a ranger actually stood a chance against a bp at around the same level. but with each update they keep adding in more and more ways to get more stats. problem is stats don't effect classes equally and they don't think about balance when they do this. at this point a bp can one shot anybody with the right awakes (mp, mp, and more mp) and a ranger can barely scrape the hp of most people unless they have really good equips. siege is pretty much bps and yoyo jesters running around oen hitting whoever they can with asal and HoP respectively with some knights thrown in for sneakering.

oh wait, except there is the blades with their godly equips that let them pull of little mini hops every couple of seconds. psys bombs are strong but people get so much running speed from cs and awakenings that they can out run them. yes, they out run the psy's bombs, asaling as they go.

Fighterboy 11-09-2009 12:52 AM

So its way unbalanced?

Destrus 11-09-2009 01:37 AM

yep, pretty much everything they added was just more for people to spend real cash on and they didn't check teh balance at all.

Fighterboy 11-09-2009 11:18 AM

That's just wrong. There goes all my chances of playing flyff.

secbro20 11-09-2009 11:22 PM

I did have BP level 81, with +8 armor(75 set) and weapons, with full strentes and mighteers, so I really don't have room to talk about PvP balance. Stonehand+maxed Sonichand=Instant win against almost all classes. Or just Asal them (one shot anyone). And my build still wasn't the best for dealing damage. Once you hit a certain level(like 90ish), most BPs went FULL STR. Thanks to the Ringmaster buff, they could hit close to 100% attack speed without any points into dex, or very little.

The only thing that kept me playing was the awesome guild I had for the longest time, but right around the time they fell apart, I stopped playing.

Destrus 11-09-2009 11:25 PM

same, the only reason i played to 90 was because of my guild but most of us quit when v9 came (we liked to call it v8.5)

Fighterboy 11-09-2009 11:25 PM

So you were REALLY GOOD?

Destrus 11-09-2009 11:28 PM

i wouldn't say i was though in v7 i could kill anybody near my level in pvp. at level 80 i could kill a level 90 blade with a +10 set. then they fucked over my stuns and threw all balance out the window in favor of awakenings and more cash

I had good stats and very good gear. I can't really say I was good, as BPs were waaaaay unbalanced in terms of PvP. BPs skill gained at 80 was just one powerful blow (dealing 30k to regular mobs, though people tested it and dealt like 120k) It one hits everyone, regardless of class. ONly thing that could stop you was if they crit you and knocked you away while you cast it.

When I left the really good guild, I joined another guild called Sacred, which actually participated in the guild seige and won one week. ( I was not apart of the siege as all members going were close if not capped)

Fighterboy 11-09-2009 11:31 PM

lol too complicated

Destrus 11-09-2009 11:33 PM

the other thing that stopped asal and bps in their place were jesters. HoP had a faster cast and counter was a 100% stun chance and your hit wouldn't affect us. so counter adn HoP woorked on a lot near my level or if i was in DI and got to go first i'd do backstep to stun. if it didn't i'd xline some and counter if needed. if i wanted i could just beat them to death with my yoyos

secbro20 11-09-2009 11:33 PM

The only reason I played my BP was to get Asal. I just wanted the ridiculously powerful skill. Which, it really was.

Then I got my Jester to like 68, trying to get to 75 to get Hit of Penya (second strongest skill in the game) Even better that Jesters can go invisible for 15 seconds, use a skill called backstab to stun there oponents, then HoP to wipe them out.

But I never made it.

Yes. Jesters were the only class that really could do something. And Psykeepers with there demonology, that locked me in place. Other than that, not much else could stop me. Maybe a good Ele with blink/windfield combo to slow me down. If asal didn't work, then Sonichand you until your stunned and die.

secbro20 11-09-2009 11:50 PM

Flyff is one of those games that could have been really great. If it had a great quest system, along with more balanced classes, I'd probably still be playing it. The graphics, flying ability, and overall game were really good, but the grind and unbalanced system ruins it.

Fighterboy 11-10-2009 12:02 AM

=(

Fighterboy 11-10-2009 12:04 AM

Got pics of your chars?

Yes I do. I believe this is right after my BP hit 75 and I got to wear my set. It was only +3 at the time, but I got it eventually to +8 (the glow on this shoulders would spread to his arms and a bright point of light would be on this knuckle hand)

This is what my guy looked liked at 75.

And This is what the glow looked like after I got the armor to +8 (NOT MY CHARACTER)

Though my sister was a Ringmaster (the support character of a BP, BPs were the fighter types). Her character was DECKED OUT. She got so much free stuff from other players. She had tons of cash shop items, almost all of them for free. CS is/was trade-able in flyff and sell able. All costume items were permanent as well.

Needless to say, both of us were pretty hardcore into flyff. It was our first MMO, and it really was fun because of the other players we played with

A_Forever 11-10-2009 12:15 AM

I was badass. fo sho

Fighterboy 11-10-2009 12:16 AM

The cs is cool then, other than the unbalance items.

There weren't really any unbalance CS items. It just basically became a necessity at higher levels to use CS, as it probably has become in fiesta. The outfits were really good in flyff, and I was surprised when I found out fiesta's were not permanent.

Though the ability to sell CS items made CS whores SUPER rich, screwing the economy up to no ends. Items the prevented your items from breaking for upgrades sold for 5million penya each (penya was the currency in game)
