People still play Fiesta?
Honestly, I'm not sure why any of you would. Mind you, I'm not attempting to start some scuffle or whatever, I'm simply trying to figure out why anyone would still be playing this god awful game. Long before I decided to quit, the game had headed down the tubes and there was no sign of it coming back. That seems to be truer now than before as nothing seems to have improved, if not worsened.
So I ask you, what makes this game tolerable for you folk? It has nothing to offer and it's far below mediocre. I'm almost 100% the classes are still unbalanced or at the very least, mages are still the worst to be. And from what I can tell, Outspark still only cares about earning money. Perhaps someone can enlighten me? |
It's hard to let go of some of the things you're used to. For some, the fact that by playing this game for several years, so they know the how-tos, for others it may be their friends who also play it. Some just find it fun?
And I don't think that Outspark only cares about money.... Sure they're a lot more heavy on the cash shop than before (right after CB2), but I highly doubt that they are swimming in cash 'n hookers as we speak. |
I started playing Fiesta when it first hit open beta. I loved the hell out of it and I was addicted for quite some time. Then, after a small break I come to find out that the game had gone to hell and that it would only continue to get worse from there on out. Outspark has only ever cared about money and their actions have proven it. They're not swimming in money because a lot of people realized how lame the game had become and how much Outspark had destroyed what we grew to love.
What it is now, is nothing what it once was. Fun, enjoyable and addicting. I quit and I am thankful for it but I just do not understand why you people won't let go. Let it die off and pray that a new company picks it up and does it the right way. In the early days, this game had so much more potential than about 90% of the other MMORPGs out there and I was excited to see its future. I have honestly made a lot of great friends here, dealt my own fair share of drama and had one hell of a blast. Something I've yet to recreate on another game but as much as I loved Fiesta, it just isn't what it used to be (yes, I realize I'm repeating myself a lot). I've always wanted to come back but with the way things are now and continue to be, I can never see that happening. |
Who said we aren't letting go? A lot of people quit (including me and several GMs).
I have a question for you tho... Your last post before today was 6 months ago. You came back just to tell us to quit? |
I don't remember making this thread to tell others I quit. I simply made it to ask why people still played the game. Of course, the events following up to me asking are um... a bit lengthy and I just don't have the energy to really explain it all.
Clearly some people are incapable of letting go if the game is still some how running and people are still logging in to do whatever. |
It's the way of things. MMORPG's are by nature disposable. You play one, get to the 'end' or however much you can stomach and then "quit", maybe keeping the account information so you can check-in a few months later.
Obviously, the majority of people playing now will not be the same players as in the beginning but people who started relatively recently. Those who've stuck around are obviously the exception. It's also equally obvious that these people derive some sort of satisfaction or utility from doing so, so I think it useless to ask why these people are still playing. They might be getting even more characters to cap, trying to farm their way to the integer-limit, enjoy 'pwning n00bs' in the FBZ, whatever reason, it doesn't matter. |
I stopped playing cuz I got bored xD Haha pretty simple... Sometimes I still play for a while though.
|
The majority of the active ff members have quit.

I agree with the 'all OS cares about is money' part though, I mean yeah. Can't blame them for that since it's a free game and they need money as well, but everything's just too much now. For example, just recently, they've started SELLING DANCES. I mean, geez. And like, you can't be the top/one of the top players without SC anymore. Trust me, I'd know. And by 'top', I don't mean it just level-wise. I've tried quitting in the past a few times, and the most recent was the longest. But, I'm still in the game. Well, what else could I say xD Oh and, <----active FF member who plays. iRare. xD |
I loved the game when it first came out and then I got a taste of what the other versions were getting and the one Outspark manages just wasn't up there. Aside from the fact that OS' version is slightly behind (not by a lot anymore) it just lost its appeal altogether knowing that some skills will never be implemented.

I agree it has gone downhill since OB started and it'll probably keep going downhill if Outspark keeps being money hungry. Then again, I still find myself enjoying the game and having fun while playing it. I've stopped and tried multiple other MMORPGS but I've always found myself coming back to Fiesta. Dunno what that is XD |
Id say instead of criticising the game or people that play it just don't post that stuff like this game is not interesting or bad. By that you are just disguisting new members which won't join. If you're posting about how you leave its ok peolpe will talk about it but do not post stuff like "this god awful game" or "far below mediocre". And this most of all is not true: "Outspark still only cares about earning money." Yes they do care about money but they do care about people. |

Exactly. Thanks for continuing my thought. I also play 2 other MMORPGs and it depends if you even want to play it or not. Some people might like the game and others might not, everyone is different, but if you don't like the game guys, don't post that it sucks because you are only talking about yourself. |
Well, I would like to add several extra points into this discussion, cuz it seemed 1 sided... then again, that one rant thread I did a while back on the outspark forums... uuh...:nahnah:
|
No no Im not against quitting, im only saying that when you quit don't curse the game.

Hahaha you're right. |
Why do I still play fiesta? What other game would I play? Runescape? Yeah right. WoW? why pay to play when in fiesta the only time you need to pay is if you want to get something special.

Also, please Outspark, please; make the add's for Fiesta a little better looking, you are not going to attract people with those annoying ad's. |
Most people who play Fiesta, play for their friends. The community as a whole sucks, but there are a lot of cliques in the servers, and the people tend to get close.
I know thats mostly why I played for so long. And Fiesta is a first MMO for a lot of people, so they don't know whats out there, thus Fiesta doesn't seem so bad to them. |
agreeable on those ads lol.
and look at the "trailer" or w/e u call it on the website. its horrible, 1 look and i doubt u want to play the game |
Yah the trailer.the game. not alike. I'm also an active ff member who plays fiesta. iRare2. Like others said i mostly play for my friends but i've taken breaks and tried other mmo's but i think i keep coming back because ive been with it since the beginning.
|
All my friends have long since quit, I stopped cause I had two accounts banned, then I came back with the new cap raise, and now I think the game is to easy to lvl and everyone below like 80 is half retarded.. and now I know no one so its boring.
|
I quit playing a year ago but lately the fact that I've been playing nothing brought me back... Fiesta is one of the more tolerable free MMOs, at least to me. Outspark honestly isn't as bad as the companies behind other cash shop based games, imo; I don't NEED to buy any spark cash to play the game. The game isn't anything special, and I'd agree that it's not that great, but I'd rather play it than pay $15 a month to play something since I've been out of a job for almost a year now, lol.
Though since I recently came back, it's pretty lame since all my friends are gone. I've just been playing alone, so I'll probably end up leaving again :| |
Everyone has mentioned it, but as long as I am having fun I'll keep playing. I figure that if I run into a 'nub' I can either help them get better or let them flounder. Floundering nubs can 'sour' the community so, I typically help them out. I spend a lot more time helping new players these days - but that can be fun as well. I'll stop playing when I stop having fun. I only wish you HAD to complete a few more King Quests to advance, nothing teaches team-work like a tough KQ! Giant Honeying is a perfect example.

I've been royally fucked up the bum by OS
yet I still have an account .. ain't played it in about 3 months but I started goin on again about 2 days ago to play with DARE. |
i'm still super active... got 8 characters and all are 6x, got extra noob but for honey, i got so much +9 gears that i appreciate Karis these day. The games had taken a turn and i like it. Karis... NO more +9 for noob lvl, and +9 going to be heck of expensive, which noob won't be able to grab hold, enhancing is getting super hard, which people would not spend that much cash shop for it anymore unless you are 7x or more... w/o 50+9 and under existen, lowerlvl will be way better, eventhough of tower, but once they reach 60+ a +9 is 10golds or way more now, 7x +9 had reach 15golds normally now, and +10 7x, 8x, 9x... don't even think about it.. +10 amors, and +1o Shield, and +10 weapon help 9x to lvl a little better... Classes had been balance as i see it now... ain't talking about +9 archer or mage... "i'm full +9 mage, /archer, cleric, and fighter... only if you are full +9 others than that ... stop blaming people for being suck... i play fine with my noob w/o +9... i lvl noob in good paying academy to get silver lmao... i got only couples good friend that still play, lost a hug amount of older generation... but there are still worth friend to keep on playing... i have play many others games... but i still like fiesta somehow, since i spend lots of work in it, i help noob all the times, and powerlvl over difficult lvl "good noob" ... tier 5 decompose, tier 5 stone, tier 4 scroll, tier 4 pot all complete... KKP for mats, farm herbs mushroom, making scroll... making more money, getting 95 gears +9 etc... making new noobs, soloing boss... finding 50 blues off honey KQ... plenty of stuff to do... collect karis and keep the market down... "35 karis in my posession for now... but plan and getting more and more... and no more +9 for low newbie... selling my +9 expensive, if you dare to buy, i'm taking your golds... trying to keep the market control... and helping noob and friends as i Can... while i got 6 classes this semester, fiesta help me relieve stress when i have many papers, and a place where i connect with my over seas friends... in Russia, Phillipine, Malaysia etc...
that is for my rant for now... i'm not active in forum of fiestafun or outspark.. spam Facebook and farmville ... while open shop and KKP |
I like the sound of Kingdom-Quest better than King's Quest ¬__¬
@CrazyVietFs: That sounds...busy. Can't believe you're still playing. I still remember when you offered for that HP production scroll I got from that Dakkon event. I think about playing Fiesta every now and then to see what's changed. Every time though, I get discouraged because of the perception I have of the game, that you need to have +9 or you're not going anywhere. I know you don't need to enhance it yourself and can buy it for in-game money, but it just doesn't sit right with me. |
No punctuation ftw?
Surprisingly enough I log on every now and then but my account has been long been passed onto a friend's friend. I even receive e-mail for free gifts too. But after you've been gone for long while the community has drastically changed so it's hard to get back to it. |
LOL Viet I remember when you p lvled my mage a LONG time ago
in CP2 on stonies ! :) |
