I didn't use brushes. I got a pic and a swirly flower pic, fooled around with the layer settings, added some colour over it and voila! Actually, I haven't used brushes in ages.

Lol how did you find the "swirly flower pic" then? It totally looks like a brush.

I just typed something in google image search. I think it was 'grunge flower background' or 'grunge floral background' something like that and you get all kinds of swirly flower pics. Choose one, rotate it if necessary, resize and use the part that makes it look best XD

I would search DA for brushes, but it doesn't work properly for me.

Read: it doesn't load fast enough for my liking and I'm too impatient to wait.

Try Photoshop Brushes it works great for me.

And that's a unique way to add design. But wouldn't it be had because you'd had to erase all the white parts to make it transparent?

I didn't have to erase anything. I just fool around with a background colour and layer settings til it looks good XD
