Titles have been tampered with!!!

 Um... The Chatting Titles description on the Wiki have been tampered with. Just thought you should know. Here is the bad text:

Chatting Titles
Announcer - suck c*ck 50 times in an hour. (Confirmed)

Broadcaster - Suck c*ck 500 times in an hour. (Confirmed)

Talk Show Host - Suck c*ck 1000 times in 2 hours. (Confirmed)

World DJ - Suck c*ck 5000 times. (Takes 9 hours, with one shout every 6 seconds)

Hraesvelg 10-30-2007 10:03 PM

Ha...hahaha...that's hilarious.

Kiedo 10-30-2007 10:05 PM

It's wrong, there are no time limits to complete any of the titles.

Hessah 10-30-2007 10:07 PM

hmm does it look like some "guest" changed it?

maybe we should look at making people sign up before they can change things on wiki...

^ Really? then i should've got my broadcaster title by now.. but i hvnt... i'm pretty sure u gotta do it in a short space of time =/

Valentines 10-30-2007 10:53 PM

No they should make it mods only.

It would fix ALL problems.

If needed send a request to add/edit stuff to a mod.

We can protect pages. So if you don't want a guide of yours the chance of being tampered with then tell me and I will put it under protection. Then you can just tell me what to edit.

I swear, some people on this game can be so immature lol.

Y

yeah but you have to admit that is pretty funny.

Hessah 10-31-2007 02:36 AM

to be honest... i didnt find it funny...

not coz they're vandalising our hard work and blah blah blah...

but it didnt even cross my mind that i should laugh...

kinda low if u ask me XD but that's probably coz i dun hv the boy's sense of humour...

Pritcher 10-31-2007 03:04 AM

Yeah, I don't really see the humor either. I'm not offended or even mad that someone messed up someone else's work; it just isn't really funny. Not clever or witty or anything, just childish.

Making it mods only might help to reduce the vandalism, but it kind of defeats the purpose of a wiki. It's meant to be open for anyone to add things in and pool the knowledge of the community. If people have to go through a middle man mod to get anything done a lot of people just won't bother. I wouldn't. Just make personal backups of your pages if you're really worried.

Looking back on it one thing did make me chuckle.

Broadcaster - Suck c*ck 500 times in an hour. (Confirmed)

XD

KittenGamer 10-31-2007 03:39 AM

Frankly, my only concern is that this is supposed to be 13 year old friendly & while the humor resembled middle school humor, it's still not appropriate. Thanks to whoever fixed it.

Oh & it may not be mature, but I couldn't help but laugh at it anyways. It just reminded of some of the cheap humor we used to bandy around as kids trying to sound cool. The kid who edited it was probably like 10 years old.

Hessah 10-31-2007 04:17 AM

oh gawd u just made me feel REALLY old coz i didnt laugh

Hraesvelg 10-31-2007 06:32 AM

It'd probably be a good idea to have some sort of registration to edit the wiki, that way logins and, if need be, IPs can be banned if it keeps up.

Zotius 10-31-2007 02:56 PM

Agreed. And I'm about to put up the compilation I made on wiki (once I figure out how to) and so once I do that can some one protect it?

x0x00x0x 10-31-2007 03:35 PM

Hello, I'm new here and so far this is my only post in the forums.
Even so, I've edited the wiki a few times for grammar and correctness.

I enjoy doing these things would appreciate it if you did not protect any of the wiki sections besides the main page. Any vandalism can be reversed, and I'm currently watching all pages and would quickly revert to the last edit in order to get rid of the vandalism (I'm on at least once a day during the weekdays).

I hope you will take my opinion into consideration.
:]

So far, it appears there are more of us helping than there are defaming by far. As long as we keep an eye on the recent changes page, we should be fine. At least until the majority of fiesta players find out this wiki exists. That's when it'll probably need to be protected.

I dont know Lord. You could definately be right. But I would like to think that as more and more people find out about it, we will keep the same ratio of helpers/vandals as now, if not a better ratio in our favor. It was probably done, as stated above, by a prepubescent teen (or younger) trying to look cool in front of some friends. "Hey watch me mess up this wiki, this is gonna be sooooo cool"..... I would hope that majority of the people that we play this game with, excluding the bots of course, are fair minded decent people.

Or I could be wrong and we could be doomed to deal with pimple popping prepubescence for the lifetime of the game =). In which case by all means please protect it.

Rightclaw 10-31-2007 09:11 PM

At least it wasn't as bad as the first time....

If you find any more vandalism, post it here.

Hessah 10-31-2007 11:34 PM

yeah i just thought making them register would stop SOME people as they've kinda put an identity to themselves... if someone doesnt hv to sign up and they get to mess around.. they think they're less expose and more daring...

but yeah i've heard worse~ i guess we cant complain too much XD

and i've just saved a copy of the page i spent a lot of time on, on my own hard drive... (just pasted it in notepad)... just in case something dramatic happens...

x0x00x0x 11-01-2007 01:37 AM

Pages are saved automatically in the Wiki.
You can easily revert back to a previous edition by clicking history --> clicking the version below the current edition --> edit --> save page.

Pritcher 11-01-2007 01:41 AM

Never hurts to keep your own backups though. Who knows; the whole damn wiki could crash and be irrevocably damaged. Then people will wish they had backed up their stuff to a little notepad file.

We seem to be getting hit with a lot of spammers lately.

Banhammer's been busy.
