Turns out a lab assistant grabbed one of the mice and the "black tissue" rubbed off, because all Summerlin did was color part of the white fur black. And he didn't even use paint, or dye, or anything. It was a damn Sharpie.

Summerlin blamed his zany antics on work-related stress, as it's quite common for stress to manifest itself as a desire to paint rodents.

Those are harmless to humans!

We have them all over here on the farm. I mean, I don't go around picking them up.. but I have to walk past them to get in the front door and stuff. They get in the house sometimes too.

That is a lie, actually. No species of Opiliones has a venom gland. And, to be perfectly honest, they're not even spiders. Arachnids, yes, but not spiders.

Edit: Seems that there is a type of actual spider referred to as a daddy-long legs as well (pholcus phalangioides, or cellar spider). Their venom is relatively harmless, though.
