I wish...
I have awesome photoshop skills like you people~!
Coming up with new cool siggies all the time... Not only do I not have the skills, but I don't have the artistic talent either... I'm so jealous~ |
You can have mine because it's just sitting in the corner gathering dust at the moment.
|
Thank you, how very kind of you -insert it into my brain-
|
Take lessons from Blahs!!!
It'll be like family bonding xD |
Yeah i think one day I should sit with her and watch her do her stuff on photoshop!
I think I can learn a lot like that... just gotta find the chance... |
No.. IT'LL BE CARBON BONDING!! LOLOLOLOLOLL!!
And actually.. I suck at making siggies now. I don't get any inspirations at all... that's why I've requested for siggies from others because I can't make my own... :cries: |
^lol!
|
Speaking of signatures, Alan's spoiler sig is epic. I was considering doing something like that, myself.

But on topic.. You can learn if you stick with it... my first sig was made with absolutely no knowledge of photoshop.. like.. ZERO! It was my first time using anything like it (other then Paint.... which can't compare at all) and I made a sig, it sucked, but it was a start. THEN I STARTED EXPERIMENTING AND WATCHING TUTORIALS FROM TIME TO TIME (Important, cuz if you just live off of tutorials you won't learn a thing, gotta make your own style with what you learn :P) If you just do that, in a few months you'll be really good :3 I ALSO STARTED OUT WITH NO ARTISTIC VISION too, but you get inspiration, something I've learned recently is that you can get design ideas from things as simple as just plates, furniture, house designs (watch the remodeling shows if you have to!), or even designs from nature :3 Sorry for the mini WoT xD |
That's inspirational Leesa!!
I found tutorials hard to follow.. but maybe coz I've followed some crapped ones xD maybe I should give it another go~ you make it sounds like it's not all that hard~ |
Just like there are designers who go to art school, there are also those who can make great designs without ever going to an art school.
Instructor made the whole class groan when he was like "you don't have to go to art school to be a graphic designer"... lmao! |

there are also those who wish to learn graphic design but never dedicate their spare time to it.

Loveless, will you be my teacher? <3

But I can't.

|
why don't you make a tutorial with al your spare time.........jk what spare time
|
i inglis no gud
|
I could never make a tutorial. Everything I do in Photoshop is experimental and I rarely remember the steps I take to get a particular effect. I'm off to bed... |
|
anyone got some good pointers on where I can find some nice and short tutorials?
|
lol this the name gives it away
www.sigtutorials.com |
oh cool that looks good thanks!
|
no, use GIMP. It's free. Plenty of tutes out there. D:

I've never really looked at any tutorials hahah... not much of a guide person. But you'll definitely benefit with guides, hessah. xD What I did was I one day found ps on the computer, and I mucked around with it in my spare time LOL. And then I saw lots of pro people's stuff and tried to duplicate it with my current knowledge HAHA. If that failed then I went on a searching rampage for their method, and then tried to apply it and make it better (somewhat =_=). Hahahah but yeah just experiment a lot! You'll eventually find everything if you go through every corner of the program. o_o ^ That's coming from a person who doesn't even know how to use channels. =_= |
I actually find that following tutorials teach you how to start mucking around and experimenting in Photoshop. I don't really remember much of when I first started with it, but with any new design/graphics program, I find it hard to even know what to do in order to start "experimenting".
Following tutorials is a nice way to get used to how Photoshop and their tools work. |
Oh~ Yeah, I suppose that might be a problem too haha. @_@ I just had fun with it, and in time the tools became familiar. Bad thing about trying out without tut's is that you never get to explore tools that you don't like that much, therefore not getting to know what they're capable of. It's just easier for me to find my own way/style around first, I suppose, without the reliance of other people's info. |

OK HELP!
http://www.sigtutorials.com/tutorial...signature.html I started this tute coz it looks kinda easy.. which it was... motion blur, motion blur, Linear Dodge ( That's new!) And then... if you go down the to "Adding the Main Picture" part... it's suppose to each me how to blend the picture onto the background.. I cant get the add vector mask thing happening... I only have the option to Add Layer Mask, (i think after that I have the option to add Vector Mask but it doesnt seem to make any changes) http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...-sigtute-1.png I've still got that rough edge... What am I doing wrong or wat have I missed? |
lulz. I actually don't know how masking works! I was supposed to learn about it but I forgot and when I remembered.. I was too lazy to follow tutes xD Hopefully someone else here knows how masking works HAHA.
|
Now that reminds me it happens to me a lot at most tutorials..
I follow it real well all the way until the end when it just doesnt work out -rage quit- xD |
You're not the only one.. I feel that way too LMAO. I feel that way with a lot of things actually. I was working on a chibi but I had a "drawing block" and I haven't made any progress since.. I would open it a few times in attempt to fix it up but... I always close it after 5 minutes xD
|
I just blurred the rough edge and it looked alright..
that'll do xD next... |
If you click the add layer mask button twice, it lets you add vector. Not sure what vector does, but in layer mask, use the brush. Black = get rid of layer. White = bring the layer back. Different shades of gray/opacities will get you some nice blurring in effects. |
ohh hmm I still dont see what it does but that made me played aorund with the layer option instead and it looked kinda cool...
Interesting... thanks En! |
