Tim Burton spinning a fantascially dark, yet fun for all ages, tale with the creepy delight of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter? That's amazing. I wonder why anyone hasn't thought of it before.

I admit, I will be watching this one. Anything with Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, and Christopher Lee has to be good.

Hrae making a snide, wry, sarcastic comment...? Such a radical move.

IMDB lists him as the Cheshire Cat.

Ivramire 07-29-2009 05:00 AM

I just hope Depp plays the Mad Hatter better than he played Willy Wonka.

Once I make a career out of forum posting, I'll step up my game.

Tim burton's films are all somewhat alike, but that's just his style. that's like criticizing Nirvana for using distorted guitar in all of their songs, or Shatner for using a REALLY CHEESEY VOICE in all his work, or Freddy Mercury for wearing Spandex at all his concerts.

Hraesvelg 07-29-2009 07:02 AM

One trick ponies. Sure, it was a neat trick, but it's getting old now. They're just phoning it in.

Jikanu 07-29-2009 07:40 AM

Not really one trick so much as a recurring theme. a recurring style.

Most realist artists dont draw manga in their spare time. There's such thing as a style that you stick to. it happens with most artists.
