Who here has the lowest RAM?

Also, who has the highest? Please use the computer you use the most or the one you use for games.

The computer I use for games has 510MB RAM. Do I live in the stone age?

Hraesvelg 06-24-2009 02:43 AM

My old rig has 512MB of RAM with an integrated graphics card, so that sucks 64MB right off the top of that. I use it for music playback/torrenting and low-rent stuff like that. Used to game with it, though. Fiesta, even.

A_Forever 06-24-2009 02:44 AM

My dad says that there's 2GB of RAM on this computer.

Yosei 06-24-2009 02:45 AM

We still have our 64 MB RAM computer, our 256 MB RAM computer, the one my parents use is 520MB RAM, and I got 2GB.

Have you tried playing Fiesta on the 64 RAM?

Lirange 06-24-2009 02:49 AM

whats RAM

A_Forever 06-24-2009 02:50 AM

Heh.

Yosei 06-24-2009 03:00 AM

No lol. We haven't used the 64RAM in years. But I do remember it being the little engine who could xD in the 8 years we used it, we never had any problems with it.

ThievingSix 06-24-2009 03:01 AM

6gb o.o

Andromeda 06-24-2009 03:02 AM

This computer I'm using has 470MB of RAM a 80GB HDD a Integrated SiS Onboard chipset and a 2.8ghz processor ._. Oh Yeah I'm playing Fiesta to the max

However at the start of September I'll have a new computer already have it ready just need the money ._. It has 8GB of ram a 1.5TB HDD a 1GB NVidia Geforce GTX 285 Graphics Card and a 2.8ghz Quad Core processor.

I'm so looking forward crushing Great Spider with no lag at all

Hessah 06-24-2009 03:04 AM

When it comes to the lag that you get from Spider KQ...

Is the graphics card RAM more important or the computer RAM?

Its both but its more of the Graphics Card related issue this Integrated SIS Onboard chipset literally only has 32MB on it so you can imagine the horror I experience in Spider KQ when killing Great Spider. My game runs at 1-2 FPS per second and my game literally becomes unresponsive for a minute after I die.

Lirange 06-24-2009 03:11 AM

512mb ram
what exactly does ram do?

Pebbles 06-24-2009 03:15 AM

4.00 GB. o_o;

Failure 06-24-2009 03:18 AM

I have 3.48 GB. o:

I think i've got 512mb on my graphics card, and 3.5g on my computer

and my fiesta still shuts down on me if I try to spawn right next to a massive group of spiders...

Fiesta wasnt too happy to load 200+ spiders at once....

Kenryuu 06-24-2009 03:52 AM

4gb :O

Not many people can run Spider KQ perfectly with no lag you need a high end Graphics Card like the one I mentioned Im getting in September.

Here is a perfect example of someone with a high end Graphics Card

ThievingSix 06-24-2009 03:58 AM

When lag comes from too many vendors or to many things on the screen it's the cpu speed, gpu speed, gpu memory.

ILiGhTI 06-24-2009 03:58 AM

2.51GB of RAM.
Not sure about all that other stuff u guys are talking about, i don't think its very good though lol, this comp is old (about 4 years), and we had to buy those extra 2GB cuz we were having problems with it =\

Esen 06-24-2009 04:05 AM

2GB here

Loveless 06-24-2009 04:09 AM

3 GB

With crap-ass graphics card that kills me during mass invasion events.

That probably would explain why I never crashed in Spider KQ regardless of how much I lagged. I have the processor to run the game flawlessly during Spider KQ but my terrible Integrated SIS onboard chipset was what is holding me back :p Id imagine upgrading to a 1GB NVidia GeForce GTX 285 Card would enable me to flawlessly run Spider KQ even Fraps it while killing Great Spider.

Leesa 06-24-2009 04:32 AM

1gb.....

Vasu 06-24-2009 06:40 AM

1 GB RAM and 512 MB GPU RAM. When playing games it's the GPU that's tested more than your RAM or CPU. It's when you're encoding audio/video and image editing that your CPU and RAM are actually tested.

Belaslav 06-24-2009 06:45 AM

3 Gb.

iDerrick 06-24-2009 08:18 AM

I have 4gb of ram, but for us XP users who have 4gbs, we're only techincally using about 3.25gb.

If I remember Fraps uses the GPU for most of it's processing. So yea, it should all run fine =)!

Quad Core computers are unrivaled for rendering videos. Oh dear lord I'd hate to see how long a high quality 30 minute video takes to encode on a single core computer.

ThievingSix 06-24-2009 09:13 AM

On my old P4 video encodes were a "I'll check progress tomorrow morning" thing. Now that I'm on the i7 it's done in an hour!

Also Vasu: It depends entirely on the game. GTAIV was more bound to the CPU because of the AI and physics.
