patching eso

it's been so long it's taking forever ;_;

and at the same time i'm trying to cut out characters from screen shots to try to make a sig. thinking about just giving up adn asking someone else to do it D:

actually the patch is failing ;_;

Destrus 06-20-2009 11:31 PM

aaand manual patch done :D

Lirange 06-20-2009 11:33 PM

yea, if you just dled the game or havent patched in awhile, you use the manula, but if youve been updated, and then theres a new patch, auto should work fine

Destrus 06-20-2009 11:47 PM

my client was version 28. the game's up to 55 lol

Lirange 06-20-2009 11:51 PM

turned out better than i thought and a lot faster than usual. my next one's gonna be a pain in the butt to do though i think >_<

doing the priest cut out tomorrow. it's freaking 5am <_<

and no it didn't take me 10 hours to do it. i left to do other things too D:

Lirange 06-21-2009 05:26 PM

didn't know you play luna ;O
what tool do you use to cut it out?
pen?

Destrus 06-21-2009 05:36 PM

i use the lasso first then switch to quick mask and get to the edges with the paint brush

Destrus 06-21-2009 07:41 PM

omg i have to go back over this one. the edges are sooo bad

Loveless 06-21-2009 07:43 PM

Are you using Photoshop?

If so select all go to the menu under Select > Modify... > Contract by 1px
Then inverse selection and hit delete to get rid of extra pixels around the characters.

Destrus 06-21-2009 08:09 PM

o_o didn't know there was an option like that

Loveless 06-21-2009 08:15 PM

I think a lot of people don't... ;P

Lirange 06-21-2009 08:31 PM

i like using the magnetic lasso, easy and does a lot of the work for youx]

Destrus 06-21-2009 08:37 PM

i had already started going over it with a size 1 brush so i decided to finish that way. the wings were still a pain in the butt though

http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/8...estcutcopy.jpg

put a black background on it cause it wears so much white D:

Lirange 06-21-2009 08:37 PM

are you going to make siggies with those renders?

>_< i r stuck

Jackaroo 06-22-2009 02:40 AM

It's very nice although if you were gonna use it as a sig you might wanna resize it to make it more rectangle

Lirange 06-22-2009 05:25 AM

eh,you should make the sig rectangle size, it looks better
and you dont have to show the whole body
and yea, you should use a cd4 for the background
nice for first time though!

Loveless 06-22-2009 05:31 AM

A sig's size and shape isn't limited to a rectangle, can be anything to fit the look that you have in mind. Cropping usually helps to focus the eyes on a particular part and c4d is an option but it isn't necessary. Again, it's all up to what sort of look you want to go with it.

Because your characters are rather cute, c4ds may not exactly fit. Also because they are rather stationery... you can use vector brushes to add movement to the sig.

Important thing to remember with most designs is the rule of thirds. Put the focal points into the intersections (that are created when you divide the plane in thirds horizontally and vertically).

EDIT: I have been using this: http://senthrax.deviantart.com/art/F...orial-55042010

The top half is a must read. Lots of great info on design.

Destrus 06-22-2009 12:24 PM

thanks guys. i wasn't sure where to go from here but getting plenty of ideas. i'm not sure when i'll be able to take time to work on it again though.

Lirange 06-22-2009 04:46 PM

your going to be out of business loveless
everyones starting to make sigsxD

Loveless 06-22-2009 08:22 PM

Anyone can design.

Not everyone can design well.

I would much rather have people make their own and improve. It's not like I was getting paid to make sigs.
